3:36 ODYSSEUS ACTUALLY GOING TO MOVE THE BED (despite being devasted) before Penelope goes “NO YOU DUMMY YOURE MY HUSBAND” is immaculate and I love this so much!! This is the first animation I’ve seen where Odysseus ACTUALLY goes to do the “favor” Penelope asks of him 🥺🥺🥹
There are THREE THINGS I ABSOLUTELY ADORE ABOUT THIS: 1. Penelope being happy when Ody said “But all of that was to bring me back to you.” Because she’s Spartan, she would DEF feel so freaking loved with everything Ody did to get back 2. This is the first animatic that portrays the “test” the same way I imagined it. The bed thing wasn’t a test, it was to show Odysseus that he was still the same loving husband. 3. THAT THEY MADE LOVE!!! I have been saying this on reddit and Tiktok…THEY DEF MADE LOVE HENCE “How long has it been?” IM SO GLAD SOMEONE FINALLY DID THIS
It very much was a test, gods (Zeus) impersonate husbands all the time in Greek mythology and many people are even aware of that and so this is Penelope's way of confirming it IS very much Odysseus and not some god in disguise. And if you think I'm wrong go read the actual Odyssey where Athena literally tells a concerned Penelope to test him with the olive tree. I'm not saying its not a reminder that Odysseus is a loving husband but it IS test as well.
@pengwing8275Yes in the Odyssey it's a test, but in epic it is to show odysseus he is still the same man he was before, which is probably what this person was saying
the way Penelope just yells at him like he’s a total idiot but a lovable idiot for doing exactly what she asked, even though Odysseus protested, is so raw. He’d do literally anything for her, even if it means cutting the roots of their love from the olive tree, even if their bed has stayed here all this time, rooted and unshaken
5:13 THE WAY I SCREAMED “OOP THEY SMAHSED I KNEW IT-“ nah this is truly beautiful animatic beautifully capturing PENELOPE ACTUALLY BEING DONE WITH HIM LIKE YESSH GIR GET HIM
By far, the best one I've seen, not only because you've conveyed the emotions so fantastically, mythologically accurately made it so they immediately got down to town, made them both nervous and scared and a complete mess, but you actually showed the Penelope is in her forties!!! I've only seen people make penelope thin and look like she's still in her twenties, you showed Ody's age and Penelope's age perfectly! Thank you Ximena!
With how the age of marriage varied from the different kingdoms that formed the Grecian empire, it’s actually completely possible that Penelope could be either younger or older than 40 by the end of the Odyssey. Spartan women for example often married around 30 meaning that she’d be around 50 here but we don’t know how old she was when she married Odysseus. ( Most of my own research actually hints that she was 35 at this point in the story , which makes sense since the suitors would presumably want to have a child with her to secure their own position as king if they won her hand. If she was above 40 it would be rather unlikely that she’d be THIS sought after by 108 men).
And before you ask yes it was possible for royals to marry in their teen years since they would be considered as princes and princesses up until the death or resignation of then current monarchs.
@@wolfman2.055in early drafts of epic it is mentioned that Penelope and Odysseus got married at 17. Idk how old they were in the myth but in epic they were 17
The pounding of the chest really got me.. 20 years of uncertainty must be mentally killing. I feel the pounding of the chest was a "YOUR REAL!! YOUR REAL!!" Type thing which is incredibly heartwarming. This was a wonderful animation.
I love Penelope’s look at 1:28 because she doesn’t even look scared of what he could have done she more looks confused. Like she’s asking him “What makes you think I could stop loving you”
2:19 made me realize how many animatics you really did. All of them had their own character and sense of originality compared to others. Fantastic work 😁
Right?! For a split second I thought it was just the animatics used in the livestream, but then it hit me what it actually was. It's so good! I didn't know how anyone would ever top the livestream version, but I knew they would and everyone so far has been amazing!
3:38 I love when she throws the blanket on top of him in a joking manner and her punch him!! 3:58 Along with her being somewhat upset at Odysseus think she’d no longer love him!!!! I also LOVE Odysseus face when he gets yelled at!
THE WAY PENELOPE SHOWS SO MUCH BITE DURING HER PART, LIKE EVEN GRABS HIS SHIRT AND POINTS AT HIM EVERYTHING LIKE SHES MAD HE EVEN DARED TO ASSUME SHE COULD JUST NOT LOVE HIM THAT THAT. IM GOING INSANE I LOVE THAT
Ody being a nervous mess ? The transition from young Penelope to older Penelope?? The way she picked out a rose for him ?? Ody's little nod when penelope asks for the favour (like yes I Would do anything for you my love ) ??? The way ody was actually GOING TO MOVE THE BED (WHILE BEING PISSED ABOUT IT ) , coz his wife asked ??? The way Penelope just throws the bedsheet (?) at his head , scolds him (with the finger motion and all ) and grabs him to make him understand that HE WILL ALWAYS BE HER HUSBAND?? THE WAY THE LIGHT COMES BACK TO HIS EYES ??? The HUGG ?? THE WAYY THE HELD EACH OTHER SOO TIGHT , COZ EVEN THE THOUGHT OF THEM BEING APART ( AHAHAH )??? THE FOREHEAD KISS AT THE END ??? 😭 I AM OBSESSED ✨
4:43 I love how they both fall on the ground, not just hugging but grasping desperately for each other. It feels like such a raw display of emotions. I love it.
I am in love with the entire wedding bed sequence. The anguish from Ody that became determination to do what Penelope wanted even though it hurt him to uproot the bed. Penelope's anger being perfectly represented in her practically beating the sense back into him. Almost made me cry. It captured everything beautifully.
Love how it portrays that Penelope still has Spartan blood coursing through her veins. And the fact that Ody was Not afraid of anything Else he went through but Penelope made him back into a wall. 🔥
Damn. This animatic made me cry. Penelope's love and dedication for her husband, pounding him over the head with her love and the scream "YOU'RE *MINE*", Ody's love and dedication for his wife aswell and the fact that he was willing to uproot the tree because she asked him to, willing to ease her burdens if she really wanted it to happen despite how pissed and heartbroken he was over it Penelope's love is the kinda love I wanna give to someone, and Osy's love is the kinda love I seek in return. This animatic captured that beautifully, I loved every second of it.
I love the details in this. The shot at 4:12 where they're walking in perfect sync-even when they're arguing, even when Odysseus is insisting he's not the man Penelope loved and married, it's clear that the connection between them is still so strong.
its so beautiful that "just a man" is playing in the end in the background and its the part where he is singing "I would trade the world to see my son and wife". Brings me to tear every time - the animation is beautiful
the animatics where penelope shows she's actually semi insulted that ody wants her to fall in love again are my favorites; "I was in love with you the whole time! I held it down for you! I knew you were coming back!" She pushes him and grabs him like these are the only ways that he's really going to get it through his thick dumb (incredibly well strategically minded but DUMB when it comes to matters of the heart) head is that sense of touch, emotion, and cunning from his wife. ugh i love them
I like how we hear the trumpets playing 'Just a man' but in a victory like beat. Like "Im just a man, who finally came home, after all the years, away from what i known. Im just a man, who fought for my life, living all the dreams i had with the i love and care."
this is the first animatic ive seen that REALLY hones in on how Penelope felt during this song. this is so beautiful it moved me to tears. great job, seriously
This may be my favorite just for the way you did Penelope. This feels like The Odyssey, where she feels like she knows it's Odysseus but the gods are tricky and her heart can't handle this being a cruel taunt from the God's so she has to steel her heart just long enough to be absolutely sure it's him. The little punches to his chest I just. So real.
HE IS SO AFRAID OF HIS WIFE I’M😭 Man knows that she could and will kick his ass if she wants to and he married her for that exact reason. This killed me.
3:50 I love that from this moment on we can see that Penelope HAS CHARACTER 💀 something essential that was missing in these animations, thank you again, Miss Ximena 🙏🏻
Fun fact: In the original text, Athena tells Eos (the goddess of dawn) to postpone the beginning of the day and just let the entire world have a really, really long night so Penelope and Odysseus can, uh, enjoy each other's company for as long as possible.
I love how when Penelope is doing the “waiting” part Odysseus is backing up because he wants her to consider this more even if she changes her mind omfg I love this
I hadn’t listened to the musical before watching these animatics. I wanted to but didn’t. Thank you for letting this be my introduction to this. The art was beautiful all the way through. Thank you.
I love the difference between Ody in the songs before this just massacring his enemies without fear or hesitation and then he casually cleans himself up and nervously addresses his wife. He was more afraid she wouldn’t like the new man he’d become than he was afraid of the huge crowd of suitors he’d killed only a few minutes before.
As much as I love Gigi’s animatics, this has got to be my favorite animatic I’ve seen. The way Odysseus is so nervous in the beginning and the way he was so shocked when Penelope snapped back at him before he was going to cut the roots of the bed was so full of emotion. I saw that owl in the beginning too 💙
I love that you always add a bit of comedy Like Ody getting all nervous in the beginning lol edit: the difference between his nervousness and shyness there and in suffering is so cute(lil hair tuck)
Stop! I keep rewatching him walking in the room seeing the young girl he left behind transition into the woman she grew into while he was away! That's so brilliant and beautiful 🖤
I loved this animatic, adore it! I love how Odysseous is shy at the begging, scared at the way she may recieve him but outwardly seeming like a nerveous teenager. Brings a shred of youthfulness to his tired frame. Penelopes reaction to him is very nice as well, the way she is reserved. She is very much like Odysseus, especially with the way she tests him later on. Never does she take anything she sees or hears at face value. I like the difference between her and the more warm and flirty movements of Siren!Penelope. And the way she is both angry and glad as she tells him that he is most definitely still the is really neat. THe hug is very full of emotions, and I adore this. Awesome!
@@queenalliyahmaybe saying about how Odysseus gets killed by one of his sons he had with Circe-? But the Telogony is more like fan fiction to the odyssey
I think what I love the most of this animation is that Odysseus looks like he is really blushy at the start, clearly dazzled by Penelope, but still understands that it's been really long and he is not the same, so he restraints himself from getting all lovey dovey.
What I love so much about this song is that Odysseus has always been the "smart" or the one full of witt surrounded by men who are full of violence, and he has to always be smarter to win. When he gets back to Penelope, she immediately outwits him with getting him to admit that he is still her husband. Must be so relieving for odysseus to finally not have to be the smartest again, and truly be with someone equal or better ❤

My man isn't just a green flag, he's the whole forest 😊
3:36 ODYSSEUS ACTUALLY GOING TO MOVE THE BED (despite being devasted) before Penelope goes “NO YOU DUMMY YOURE MY HUSBAND” is immaculate and I love this so much!! This is the first animation I’ve seen where Odysseus ACTUALLY goes to do the “favor” Penelope asks of him 🥺🥺🥹
Most of the musical is just Odysseus telling himself, "It hurts, but it's for Penelope..."
01:07 Penelope is so confused, she's like: "I didn't wait twenty years for this, what the actually fvck are you talking about?" 😂
There are THREE THINGS I ABSOLUTELY ADORE ABOUT THIS:
1. Penelope being happy when Ody said “But all of that was to bring me back to you.” Because she’s Spartan, she would DEF feel so freaking loved with everything Ody did to get back
She looks more terrified at 2:18 then happy. She might have conflicting emotions, though.
the way Penelope just yells at him like he’s a total idiot but a lovable idiot for doing exactly what she asked, even though Odysseus protested, is so raw. He’d do literally anything for her, even if it means cutting the roots of their love from the olive tree, even if their bed has stayed here all this time, rooted and unshaken
the way she dropped the flower BROKE my heart. GOODBYE.
4:24 IT WOULDNT BE A XIMENA ANIMATIC WITHOUT THE ODYSSEUS BOOBY SHOT
😍😍😍
YES
Slay
5:13 THE WAY I SCREAMED “OOP THEY SMAHSED I KNEW IT-“ nah this is truly beautiful animatic beautifully capturing PENELOPE ACTUALLY BEING DONE WITH HIM LIKE YESSH GIR GET HIM
Another warrior of the mind was made 😊
I mean it’s canon to the Odyssey that the night of their reunion was INSANE. To the point that Athena held off the dawn so that they’d have more time
@@ogdegenerate7369maybe Ody finally got a daughter
Athena is a W wingman frfr (pun intended )
@@ogdegenerate7369 that makes three Odysseus, his son and his second son or daughter
Like she’s asking him “What makes you think I could stop loving you”
5:42 THE END CREDIT OH MY GODDDDD
is the woman penelope or-
IKR, i was already sobbing, but seeing them happy made me sob even more ☹️
@ SERIOUSLY!!
@@puppies3330 Yes it's our Penny ❤️
THEY GET THEIR HAPPY REUNION 💕💕💕💕
2:19 made me realize how many animatics you really did. All of them had their own character and sense of originality compared to others. Fantastic work 😁
IKR it’s cool to see all of them flashing by!
I loved this part! It worked so beautifully for the animatic and really does show how much work has been put into these
Right?! For a split second I thought it was just the animatics used in the livestream, but then it hit me what it actually was. It's so good! I didn't know how anyone would ever top the livestream version, but I knew they would and everyone so far has been amazing!
I agree! The idea of using past animatics as a flashback is super cool and seeing so many people do it and do it well? Its awesome @morganjestep470
@@morganjestep470 we have some incredibly talented people in this community. I'm always happy to see another animatic pop up
3:38 I love when she throws the blanket on top of him in a joking manner and her punch him!!
3:58 Along with her being somewhat upset at Odysseus think she’d no longer love him!!!! I also LOVE Odysseus face when he gets yelled at!
No one can convince me that Penelope doesn’t top ESPECIALLY how she grabbed him when she said “you’re mine”
She does. This is a fact and nobody can dispute it
I mean, She's a spartan
I don’t think anyone has EVER claimed she doesn’t
Ody le dice papi a penelope
I agree lol 😂
I love that instead of kissing, they hugged each other
There was a lot more than hugging involved
@GrahamLavelle-hn3sz 🤣🤣
3:32 The fact that he was going to do it, is amazing
3:37 Her punching his chest is really cute
"I'm heartbroken, but I have no choice other than removing this tree roots with my bare hands"
I love it.
0:02 I LOVE how nervous Ody was when he was about to enter his room, brushing himself off, and tucking his hair behind his ear😭😭😭😭
Aw, his eyes lit up when she said “my love”. Excuse me, I’ll brb, crying in the corner and banging my head on a wall. Be back in a few.
THE FIRST FAMILY FIGHT TELEMACHUS HEARD WAS BECAUSE HIS PARENTS LOVE EACH OTHER TOO MUCH 😭✨❤
Damn. This animatic made me cry. Penelope's love and dedication for her husband, pounding him over the head with her love and the scream "YOU'RE *MINE*", Ody's love and dedication for his wife aswell and the fact that he was willing to uproot the tree because she asked him to, willing to ease her burdens if she really wanted it to happen despite how pissed and heartbroken he was over it
Penelope's love is the kinda love I wanna give to someone, and Osy's love is the kinda love I seek in return. This animatic captured that beautifully, I loved every second of it.
2:52
Ody’s quickness to take upon Penelope’s request ☹️
Like “yes, anything for you, even if it’s the last thing I do”
Ody being nervous in the beginning is everything to me
I love the details in this. The shot at 4:12 where they're walking in perfect sync-even when they're arguing, even when Odysseus is insisting he's not the man Penelope loved and married, it's clear that the connection between them is still so strong.
i love the way you drew angry Penelope when she’s telling Odysseus she will love him forever
And the way they hug each other😭
its so beautiful that "just a man" is playing in the end in the background and its the part where he is singing "I would trade the world to see my son and wife". Brings me to tear every time - the animation is beautiful
4:41 THE HUGGGG OH My GOODNESSS😭
the animatics where penelope shows she's actually semi insulted that ody wants her to fall in love again are my favorites; "I was in love with you the whole time! I held it down for you! I knew you were coming back!" She pushes him and grabs him like these are the only ways that he's really going to get it through his thick dumb (incredibly well strategically minded but DUMB when it comes to matters of the heart) head is that sense of touch, emotion, and cunning from his wife. ugh i love them
The way Ody dusted himself off and tried to shake off the nerves 😭 THE WAY IT SWITCHED FROM YOUNG TO OLDER PENELOPE
I like how we hear the trumpets playing 'Just a man' but in a victory like beat. Like "Im just a man, who finally came home, after all the years, away from what i known. Im just a man, who fought for my life, living all the dreams i had with the i love and care."
I love how ody is smoothing oht his clothes before he enters
THE HAIR TUCK 😂
Athena just outside the window, and man the rose petal falling when she said torn… 😭😭😭
Penélope sabes que soy demasiado tímido nunca fue una mentira
@@ansanch1237very true, in all universes it a canon event for sure
this is the first animatic ive seen that REALLY hones in on how Penelope felt during this song. this is so beautiful it moved me to tears. great job, seriously
THE TRANSITION SHOWING YOUNG AND THEN CURRENT PENELOPE?? that’s such a wonderful utilization to show how long it’s been since he’s seen her.
I love the detail that his hands are still stained red from all the blood his spilled in 4:49
I thought that that was the nature pink in his hands from the natural blood flow in his body in that position. Interesting idea.
OW. The Scylla flashback and then back to him in the same pose as when he was trying to shield his ears from the screams of his men
3:50 I love that from this moment on we can see that Penelope HAS CHARACTER 💀 something essential that was missing in these animations, thank you again, Miss Ximena 🙏🏻
He said she’s waiting for love, then she corrects him by saying she was waiting for HIM 🥹
4:17 Oh? You're Approaching Me?

gotta make up for lost time 😂😂
Which is canon, they do have another son after Telemachus. Poliporthes
Fun fact: In the original text, Athena tells Eos (the goddess of dawn) to postpone the beginning of the day and just let the entire world have a really, really long night so Penelope and Odysseus can, uh, enjoy each other's company for as long as possible.
They deserve too it’s been 20 years man
i love the "i'm just a man" bit when they hugged
I love how when Penelope is doing the “waiting” part Odysseus is backing up because he wants her to consider this more even if she changes her mind omfg I love this

I'VE BEEN WAITING WAAAAITIIIIIINNNGGG
I love how he mentally prepares himself to see Penelope
0:05 I love how happy yet terrified he is to see her again
I saw that owl in the beginning too 💙
This song regardless of who animates it always makes me cry like a baby
Me to and I don't usually like romantic love songs
I love that you always add a bit of comedy
Like Ody getting all nervous in the beginning lol
edit: the difference between his nervousness and shyness there and in suffering is so cute(lil hair tuck)
Stop! I keep rewatching him walking in the room seeing the young girl he left behind transition into the woman she grew into while he was away! That's so brilliant and beautiful 🖤
2:30 THE THUMB THING???? HNSGSHDH
3:25 i like how she turned away when Odysseus looked at her, she wasnt able to face the hurt Odysseus yet..
You can see the devastation of such a request on both their faces
Awesome!
5:00 THE HAND ON THE WAIST GOOOOOOOODDDDDDDD😭😭😭😭😭🧎♀️🧎♀️
3:20 i love how penelope looks away and avoids eye contact from odysseus as if she's ashamed of her own words. I LOVE THE DETAILS UGHHH

1.i love how he dusts himself off at the beginning
2.SO SMOOTH
3.so wholesome
I LOVE HAPPY ROMANCE ENDINGS, ONE OF THE ONLY GREEK TRAGICS WITH A POSITIVE ENDING
Only in Epic though, the real story ended in tragic 😔
@@mal_thespygirlWHAT WHAT HAPPENED
@@queenalliyahmaybe saying about how Odysseus gets killed by one of his sons he had with Circe-? But the Telogony is more like fan fiction to the odyssey
I think what I love the most of this animation is that Odysseus looks like he is really blushy at the start, clearly dazzled by Penelope, but still understands that it's been really long and he is not the same, so he restraints himself from getting all lovey dovey.
HIM DUSTING OFF HIMSELF IS EVERYTHING OMG
I love how it does the actual ending, straight to the bed. I love this video, song, Fandom, and Jorge
