- Nigel went for an awesome offshore trip in Mersing, Malaysia.
Using the Storm Monstar rod to cast for Spanish Mackerel aka Tengiri and Storm So-Run Heavy Minnow New Colours, Tamban (TB) and UV Silver (UVSI), he caught some pretty decent sizes!

Storm product are good but they never restock. Wanted to get Storm 360GT minnow but difficult to find in Singapore and certain colour not available at all.

It sinks... You're right, sharp eyes! We cast and let the lure sinks to near the bottom or bottom. And retrieve it back fast as Mackerel love it fast!

@@xonick2 dikira2 aja bro...seberapa dalam ente pengen lure nya tenggelam..biasanya setelah cast saya hitung 1,2,3 durasi 1 detik...di gps kan kelihatan kedalaman air berapa meter...misal hitung sampe 20...kira2 lure turun skitar 15-20m...

Hi do you let the minnow to fall until bottom or just middle of water before retrieve it?
usually we let it fall to the bottom unless you see there are surface action.
what reel ratio u are using?..can u recomment the suitable reel.for casting this lure

Using 4000xg, any shoulder ache cause by cranking that minnow, boss? Hahaha.. just wondering.. good retrieving speed but need xtra power to crank the reel ,i guessed.. BtW, nice trip n videos.. keep on fishing n sharing good info..
You need the speed to get the fish excited and now most reels even in XG is pretty strong, ha ha!! Thank you for the encouragement!

why do I see no cool STORM rods, jigs, lures, in the U.S.????? No wire leader???? Guess you have all ya need it your disposal. In Florida we don't call them spanish mackerel we call'em KING mackerel~our spanish don't get that big. DO THE MONSTER RODS COME IN CASTING? I'm not a spinner guy.
We will love to see our rods being sold in the USA as well. Maybe you need to push Rapala USA *wink. Yeah over here we call them Spanish Mackerel and we don't use wire leader as sometimes they are so careful that they don't the lure with a wire. You win some but lose many ha ha
