EDIT: thanks for 6K!!!!!, btw I have created a discord server, join: discord.gg/YBDJwVDQ7K For those who doesn't understand very well, System32 and SysWOW64 are the same thing but they're for different architectures: - System32 = 64 bits - SysWOW64 = 32 bits
@@thegoodgamer872if you are unsure, you can run some 64 bit apps (like cpu-z or modern games), or just press win+R and type "winver", you will see with one your operating system (32/64 bit). You can also check if you can have more than 4 GB of ram, (if not, it can mean your operating system is 32 bit or your cpu).
SysWOW64 is SysWindowsOnWindows64(it is designed to run 32 bit applications on 64 bit windows). You can fully delete it using win pe and then just create an empty folder with the same name and it will boot
Basically saying it's System32 for actual 32 bit systems, rewritten for x86_64 systems to use 32 bit apps on 64 bit apps. No SysWow64 = No 32-bit Application Support.
Leaving the comment so you wouldn't waste your time. If you delete SysWoW64, then Windows and other programs wouldn't find *32-bit* libraries to use for 32-bit applications. In system32, there are 64-bit applications and libraries, hence there is Windows-On-Windows64(WoW64). That thing happened because of amd64 extension for 32-bit i686 instruction set, hence you need both 32-bit(x86) and 64-bit VC++ redistributables.
Theorically, it shouldn't but I recommend you to reset the permissions once you're done by executing this command in CMD (ADMIN): icacls C:\Windows /reset /t /c have a nice day!

my comp (which is a gaming one) is probably 64 bit
From Windows XP, 64 bits was supported, even my 2007 PC has a 64bit processor

You should try running a 32-bit application with SysWOW64 removed
SysWOW64 is a storage of 32 bit system components, now your windows is almost fully 64 bit XD

Amazing video and editing!
Thank you so much!
SysWOW64 is the same as System32 but for 32 bit.
Ikr, they are backwards
Basically 'System32' (despite its name) has files for the chosen architecture of Windows and in 64-bit editions SysWOW64 has legacy 32-bit.
Basically saying it's System32 for actual 32 bit systems, rewritten for x86_64 systems to use 32 bit apps on 64 bit apps. No SysWow64 = No 32-bit Application Support.
I know, thanks for the replies tho.
Syswow64 means windows32bit on windows 64bit

This seems pretty hard/impossible but can u use kde or gnome desktop environment on windows
Well, speaking of, I am likely going to switch to Linux because I will not support a company that makes its software heavier for our PCs anymore!

You probably can with WSL 2 but it's likely very laggy

Ty for watching! Have a nice day :D
Nice, try to take data from system32 and put it on SysWOW64, also do the opposite for SysWOW64
I will do it in Windows 11 so I make a 32-bit version lmfao

Why though? Is there any kind of extra protection I should know?
@@techadvofficial On Windows 95, System is the system folder, System32 has almost nothing important inside of it, I think that's what he means
