I love how everyone in second life knows that London and it's old hag moderators suck . They groaned as soon as you mentioned London . Also it takes quite a bit of determination and focus to make good avatars in second life. But the character creation options are far more in depth than most character creators if you learn how to thoroughly do so. :3

"London city" has been infamous for being a laggy hell hole for at least a decade, and probably a lot longer, typically for example, they allow 70 avatars on a region, despite the fact that everywhere run by SANE people, limits that to 40. Then when you spend 30 seconds too long on the landing point, due to the massive lag, they boot and ban you for that.

@@aestheticdemon3802 and still, they somehow have the most newbie traffic. Someone obviously bribing Linden Labs. Sending newbs into that laggy , unoptimized hellhole full of angry old witches that snub their nose at every comment made.

I'm glad you found people who helped you. Second Life is really hard to get into without help. The people are the best though, when you find those who are willing to help you.

I've never seen anything a horrifying as that multicolour leopard skin shirt. They should've paid YOU to wear it! Needed some cheering up, and your determination to rock it was inspiringly hilarious.

Welcome areas and newcomer friendly places are the worst places in SL.
When you're new to SL it's best not to spend any L's (ie: actual cash money) on your avatar until you've been around long enough to know what's available and who the best and most popular creators are, especially when it comes to buying a head and body. Never actually purchase any clothing item unless it has a free Demo version that you can "buy" for 0L and try it on first. .. this especially applies to heads.
The Linden or "L" or "$L'", is the basic currency unit in SL.

There are some amazing, encouraging people in Second Life and it can be so rewarding. Creating Avatars can be a daunting task, though the marketplace does have some fairly good full avatars that one can buy and just replace that start-up avi. However many go with the tried and true Maitreya Body and LeLutka head, but so many options now. One of the best ways to meet quality people are at Art events. Art openings at galleries can be very rewarding for many reasons. The art, the creative avatars, chatting, getting to know people, the amazing builds. There are whole art communities and areas such as Helvellyn Galleries along the river. Groups can help one to meet and make friends, and there are blogs for activity listings, such as the Virtuality Blog with Violet's listings, etc. There are many themed areas in SL such as Rosehaven, where visitors are most welcome. I am enjoying your videos and hope you find the amazing places and people in SL.

That was a good start but you should've got a better one and only spend under 5L$. It more well made and better quality than the ones they suggested.

I always say/think, when you run into people who don’t want to help, you definitely met the wrong people. Because there are a lot of nice and kind people on the grid 💕 you just have to find the right corners.
Also, there are a lot of free opportunities out there, like the free Legacy body, or others. Maybe not the best to start off, but hey, it’s a mesh body, right? And the SL20B + Shop & Hop are nice places to find some great good freebies/gifts at the moment, too ☺️

SL has this learning curve when it comes to inventory/objects that is super steep and it's so unintuitive... then it all suddenly makes sense.

Your ignorance of how to do things in SL is pretty normal for newbies. I am sure you have helped some people out. ;-)

I would of told you to hit the Abnormality Event - very fancy Avatar Fair thing that's currently running, too bad it will be over by the time you do another SL video. Everything there is expensive AF tho, would have been fun to do a walk around and see what's for sale at least :)
(Edit: in addition to things at Abnormality costing money they also require some knowledge of how to mod your avatar too)

as someone who played for 13 years, i feel so bad for you, i wish i could help you, but i havent played in so long. i kinda want to log in and try to help you out.. headdesk... its nice to see you found a few people nice enough to give you a hand. i remember one time, when they started using mesh hands and feet, before the bodies and heads came out, i had to help a friend put hers on and i kid you not... it took 6 hours of explaining, crying on her end, yelling.. lmao... and she knew mostly how to do stuff... SL has a HUGE learning curve that takes years to fully grasp. and its hella addictive for some people

Dude u can make a Avi cheap n look good. Legacy mesh body 1$ n find a cheap mesh head on marketplace bom too plus some really cheap bom skins that don't look bad as those old day one. Find free groups gift hair on the grid n some mesh clothings. U look a lot handsomer.
