It's called Hero Lock (or Backup Heroes). It's a mechanic where some heroes won't get summoned on the first round if there are less than 3 heroes at the same time. Those heroes are: - Alberon - Agathe - Asiaq - Bardrey - Lily - Lyca - Luniare/Mano/Saeryung (You can't put Luni/Mano/Sae in the same team) So let's say you have Alberon, Agathe, Asiaq, Bardrey, Saeryung, and Evan. Evan will always be summoned on the first round if there are less than 3 heroes.

1. If you're talking about Goblin Crown. I genuinely don't think it's possible to solo this chapter with goblin crown. Using link heroes and fodders with goblin crown is probably doable though. 2. If you're talking about Blade Crown (instead of helm). Kanak deals pretty good damage, so he'll most of the time clear the round before helm anti cc runs out. So using helm instead of blade crown is better in this case since the debuff from blade crown is pretty significant, especially for tight cases like this chapter.

Is Kanak good for starter?
Kanak is good, but his lack of AOE when unawakened might hurt him for early game. I suggest either Saras or Kirdan.

How do you beat this after the kanak nerf?
Still with Kanak. Just with better accessories and legacies. The nerf isn't that impactful imo.
