When the cop said he can just keep asking questions but you don't have to answer, that is true, but only until you invoke your 5 and 6th amendment rights. Once you say, "Officer, I now invoke my 5 and 6th amendment rights" (Which cops know as Miranda) they are no longer allowed to question you without a lawyer present. She said way too much and is lucky there were other technicalities to the search or she may have incriminated herself. Guys never answer leading or incriminating questions by cops especially when you are in cuffs going to jail, never talk to cops, they are building a case against you, and anything you say can and will be used against you. Co-operate, give your details but don't volunteer any evidence!
