How to mix like a pro :
1. -6DB of headroom in the master. (kick on - 10DB)
2. Dont do the notch thing on the eq unless you can hear the resonances clearly without doing anything. (resonant sounds can be used low in the mix and still audible)
3. Dont Highpass or lowpass with a brickwall. (offsets the phase)
4. Use Mid/side Eq to fit sounds in the mix. (to make room for either mono or stereo sounds)
5. Boost with Bigger q factors on the eq. (boosting with a notch just adds resonance.
6. Use parallell compression. (gives you a punchy sound)
7. Use Saturation. (it adds warmth and compression)
8. Bitcrush your bass. (makes it pop trough the mix)
9. Take breaks and work quick. (you will get used to the mix and not notice the problems)
10. (the most important) Dont solo any tracks! I see everyone making this problem, you dont know how to fit the sounds in the mix if you only listen to that track, or maybe you will but this saves you a ton of time.

@@robbiemendezNL yes, there is never a exact thing you are supposed to do or use the same settings (on mixing) because mixing is also about creativity.

I use a plugin called Sideminder for mid side as it has a bass mono thing so it mono's the freq to a range we assign it
Is it okay to do through it or should i use a Mid Side through Pro Q-3?

Do you mix in headphone... Any tips for mixing in headphone
I usually make/mix a song on my speakers but with headphones, you can hear way more little details like little ''clicks, pops and other detailed stuff'' So my tip would be to switch in between. Also, checking your song on different sound systems like a phone, car, laptop speakers, etc. could improve your mix. In the end, it should sound good on any sound system.
It is definitely missing the vocal, the first thing, the first impression that comes to mind when you hear:)
