Hollow Knight Randomizer Is Still Getting Weirder

- After a bit of time not doing Hollow Knight Randomizers, I decided to come back and see if there were any new crazy settings to try out. Like usual, there were. Today I am trying out a couple sillier settings, the breakable walls + floors add on, along with the extended lore randomizer which includes NPC dialogue. Enjoy the resulting madness.

what all these randomisers have taught me is that hallownest is basically made of lego and everything can be rearranged at will
I mean, real life is kinda like that too. But pulling apart atoms to make something new is probably not a good idea.
kinda, but it takes quite a bit of work to define the pieces. like, they had to make ghost platforms that dont stop you but you can still break, they had to make sure all dialogue checks cannot be 'lost', that a wall remains when broken but cant be infinitely retriggered

I feel like the Knight being dressed up as Radiance really recontextualizes the fact that half the NPCs just give you items and refuse to talk to you.

This mod created so many hilarious scenarios, really fun and chaotic. Makes the whole game feel like a treasure hunt
Can't wait for randomized grass%, wherein cutting each grass doesn't cut that grass, but unlocks the ability to actually cut a specific piece of grass on the map, which in turn grants a check.

There's this idea for a vanilla hk speedrun I've had for a while, I call it "all bells". The idea is you have to go through the whole map and find everything secret path, breakable wall, hidden rooms etc. A secret is included in this category if and only if finding it causes the bell sound effect to play. For example, breaking a hidden wall will yield you a satisfying bell toll

ASS (all stag stations) is already a category, so it might get redundant

OP here is referring to the "dong" sound effect that plays when you find certain secrets. They're saying the speedrun would be to find every secret that triggers that sound effect. Certainly sounds like a viable meme speedrun in the vein of grass% but you'd probably need a tracker to know where they all are lmao

That's a "fun" idea for a rando actually. Mix all the Zote precepts around the place and have to find them.
I never realized how many breakable walls there were in this game until watching this video 😮 I almost wonder if there's any I still haven't found yet.
Edit: Also, I think Hornet having that dialog at 14:10 is one of the most horrible things that's ever come out of your HK randomizers 😨

While you're playing as Radiance, you should try Little Radiance, which is an even more complete Radiance cosplay complete with changed dialogue (and a change to a boss which is awesome!), and the mod Child of Light, which gives you access to Radiance spells. I saw a showcase of both and it looks super fun, plus I think you (and the viewers) will enjoy the changed boss!

HK modders are gonna find a way to randomize every pixel on screen at this point
@@randomperson-kx6mv You select a certain percentage of pixels to randomise and then you can find pickups that unscramble a random amount of pixels. You can select the range of how many pixels are unscrambled in the settings.

honestly my headcannon for this run is the spacetime world is just *borked* someone invaded this time line and affected everything
You are my favourite youtuber at the time and i started playing hollowknight again beacuse of you
I'm not certain about this but I think the character levels refer to their location. Like, Zote Level 0 is him fighting the Vengefly King, and once you talk to him after so rudely interrupting him he moves on to Zote Level 1 and loses Zote Level 0. In this case, the rando only gives you levels and doesn't take them away until their respective checks have been taken.
Edit: I'm a blind fool, the level checks for Zote specifically probably refer to your Grey Prince fights. At Level 0, he's either still in the Colosseum of Fools or Bretta hasn't been rescued or he has been defeated, not sure which. At Level 1, he's blabbering to Bretta, who is completely taken in, while her shrine hasn't marked any Grey Prince defeats. At Level 2, you would have beaten Grey Prince once and Bretta's dialogue changes, all the way until 5 when she's stopped listening and now intends on leaving. It's probably what I said above for the other characters who follow specific paths through the map, though.
Now we just need collapsing floor rando to add to this to really make movement painful
