Laugh a loud expression of sorts usually a reaction to something humorous but sometimes people use laughter to distract them from other feelings. Chuckle a laugh but quieter usually kept to yourself or small group. I do like to laugh and chuckle, but I chuckle when I plot some nefarious dad joke or pun upon someone.
I've been alone and have recently living in my own thoughts so I know how she feels and if she was real I would put on a stupid face to try and cheer her up while I pull her into a big hug while making her that promise.
