Red Bull Sōlus, one of the most mentally and physically challenging contests in skateboarding, is back for a third year. From the mind of Ryan Sheckler, this digital skate competition challenges 17 of the top pros and amateurs to deliver their best continuous line at Sheckler’s private skatepark, the SC Sandlot. Here is Ryan Sheckler’s run.
On June 6-8, each of the competing skaters were given one hour at the SC Sandlot to film their best line - no music, no other skaters, and no knowledge of who else is competing in the competition. They're just stuck with their thoughts, their time limit, and James Craig, this year's official Red Bull Sōlus timekeeper and emcee.
This competition format, combined with the new blood featured in this year’s roster, has resulted in the best Red Bull Sōlus to date.
Ryan Sheckler has multiple lifetimes worth of experience in the world of professional skateboarding: numerous gold medals, his own TV show, standout parts for Plan B, Etnies and Red Bull, magazine covers, and even his own charitable foundation.
Ryan skates for Sandlot Times, Independent, Etnies, Grizzly, CCS, Nixon, Oakley, and Red Bull.
Dashawn Jordan skates for Nike SB, Toy Machine, Spitfire, Hardies, Bones Bearings, Grizzly, Thunder, and Faces Skateshop.
Our judges, Vanessa Torres, Mike Sinclair, and Jason Rothmeyer, will evaluate each video based on style, progression and creativity.

Shows how tough skating really is. This dude has been doing it forever, hit his stride years ago and still films these trying his hardest just for us. I've always sucked at skating but I love the community and just taking it all in is good enough for me.
I know shecks just doin it for the love anyone hatin that its his park gotta relax this dude giving back to skateboarding more than most how can you still be on that shekler hatin ish. Came here to see how he takes running off his board a year after acl surgery. Im 10 months post op and kinda using this guy as a guidline as to what my knee can take at this point lol. Love ya shecks.
Tore my ACL and meniscus 3 years ago and it took me roughly like a year and a half to start feeling okay again. You gotta get that leg strength training in ASAP and you'll be fineee
@@Toenihauck nice man!!! I been so dedicated to the process from the beginning i ended up falling into a whole full body routine because i didnt want to get jacked legs with no other muscle anywhere ahaha so its been a blessing in disguise.

It makes me happy seeing Sheckler doing well. Growing up watching him and hearing some of the struggles he battled with fame, etc. Aside from being a beast of a skater, he seems like a good dude.

I think society makes 30 seem old but it’s honestly not. Like take a look at ave and marinano they were in their 30’s when they were killing it in the mindfield video and lakai video.
I’m 31 and I don’t do much physically outside of work, and I went out recently and skated a little. I was very rusty, but energy was not lacking. 30 isn’t as old as you think.
Yeah, also this guy is a professional. So he will never forget how to skate. I'm also 33 like Sheckler (I was just born one month ahead of him) and used to skate when I was 15 to 20 yo. I was never good but I used to love it and I could only ollie very well. But I know for sure that today I would be uncomfortable on the board. It has been 13 years since then and too long since I land one single foot on the board. But people who are really good at it and kept practicing all these years never forget. Some guy from my hometown still skate. Let's also not forget that Tony Hawk was in his LATE 30s in the early 2000's and Elissa Steamer was also 30. 😊
I’ve always enjoyed Ryan but in his latest over the last year I’m growing to really respect him more than a skater but as a good human being. I appreciate you Ryan.

Sheckler is absolutely, hand's down one of the reasons I am into skateboarding today. Him and Nyjah Houston were absolutely killing it when I was growing up, and still today. Ryan has been doing this for 20 years now at the highest level!!
Ryan, glad you never gave up skateboarding. Do it as long as you can and have fun doing it. You have nothing to prove at this point. You proved yourself years ago as a legit skater and your still killing it out there on your street videos.

I am the same age as Ryan. I’ve skated just as long, but not nearly as hard or good. Ryan is in AMAZING SHAPE, and has clearly really good stamina. I would have been gasping for air about 15 mins in. I’ve been slowing down in recent years because I feel like everything hurts, my knees, my ankles and my body. Things don’t move like they used to. It’s part of life getting old. What you see here is Ryan’s brain telling him he knows he is better, but his body isn’t letting him like it used to. All in all, the point I’m trying to get out here, is if you read this Ryan, you have absolutely nothing to prove to me or anyone else. I would have had just as much fun watching you mess around and not land anything. Thanks for making skateboarding history and thank you for an amazing run!
So glad to see where Ryan Sheckler is now. I remember seeing him win gold at 13 and so well deserved, thinking i cant wait to see how he'll evolve. Who knew it was gonna be a wild ride?! A legend in his own right. One of the real ones!

This is the most technical I’ve seen sheckler skate i think. And his style looks great too. Made me want to skate.
That was an insane amount of hard tricks to try to do back to back again and again.
It is his park and he could’ve easily stuck with his go to tricks but he’s up for the challenge on trying something different. His mindset is what makes him one of the best. Don’t hate on this man, Sheckler is a living Legend.
