Actually "the Original" lyricwise is from the French band "Manu Negra" and the title is "King of the Bongo" and that song has Bongo sounds
and Manu Chao was the lead singer/band leader of "Manu Negra"
..and after the band split up and after a longer break Manu Chao went solo and for his solo debut single he took the lyrics from "King of the Bongo" and combined those with the music of his other song "Je ne t´aime plus" sung by his long time girl friend who also had appearances for Manu Negra already = So "Bongo bong" is actually a mix out of 2 songs in order to perform a duet with his girl friend.
