The offensive/defensive plan was fine. They just have to execute it and make their good looks. Klay is a guy I trust to make those open shots even under pressure. I know he had a really bad performance once but he has also had historic performances.
Even if Klay can not run around screens and literally just be stationary in the corner, he's creating space for two of the best slashers in the game. It's a great deal for the Mavs.
Klay don't need to create his own shots in Dallas. He needs to stay healthy. And for him to stay healthy and lessen the risk of his achilles or ACL acting up, he needs to mostly play as a spot up or catch and shoot shooter. Damn that's crazy. Looking at those finals low lights it was painfull to watch those wide open 3s. Now think about it. PJ in the corner(which he can make). Klay or kyrie in the other corner and the other one above the break while Luka and an improved lively operate the pick and roll. Do you help or no? The playoffs are the playoffs. Scheming and planning and all that. If they're health these guys are going to roll trough the regular season.
@@vantianhergheligiu12 The final form of the Mavs does not have PJ in the starting lineup. I think it's Grimes come playoff time who bounces back to his form his second year, and you move Klay to the 4. Then you have no weak shooters, and a great POA defender, letting Klay guard the bigger wings which he is MUCH better at. With Grimes and Naji Marshall, PJ isn't good enough to stick in the starting lineup shooting 32% from 3. Grimes and Marshall are SUPER underrated pickups for the Mavs.
Watching the Mavs role players and Kai in the finals was painful, I think Klay will make the team more versatile and dangerous, and that's wild to say with that team. It may take some time to get them to fit the new system, but I expect they will figure it out and that the Mavs will be a lot of fun to watch.
Horford could perform in the finals because east was cupcake and celtics weren't challenged, If any of the series in the east were closer he would be gassed by the finals.
this next year is definety going to be a repeat of mavs being western conference champs, and i actually want to see the rematch between boston so we can get them back. klay is getting ring 5, luka is getting a ring, and kyrie is getting ring 2
The staggering of Kai and Klay with and without Luka will be the key. As long as Klay is all about winning it shouldn’t be a problem. He will still get his minutes. And wide butt ass open shots.
We've seen that Jason Kidd can get people to buy into the Mavs defence. People made fun of Luka for his Defence in the finals (even though he was on the injury report literally every single playoff game) but the Mavs have genuinely improved leaps and bounds defensively since the trade deadline. To a point where they had the 2nd or 3rd best defence in the league at times.
Fact of the matter is the NBA digress from Defense to all stamina on offense. Kawhii use to be a really good role player to a superstar. just goes to show how better the past basketball was when kobe was playing good in the nba. once kobe left the nba was like alright time to cater to lebron which made the nba go on easy mode but whatever he wanted there was always players better then him in single aspects while lebron was always 2nd or 3rd best in all the categories.
I also still think Klay ain't done yet and definitely has fuel left in his tank. However for him to work out in Dallas Luka gotta play way less iso ball and find Klay more often. Luka gotta give up some of his scoring, otherwise this trade ain't making them better.

Killa Klay is going to force defenses to pick their poison. He will feast in the openess or Kyrie and Luka will make the defenses pay. That's a great thing to have if you're Dallas. GSW are in trouble w/o Klay now whose gravity is second to Steph. And to add, Klay's defense is still elite albeit on forwards now vs guards. He's too slow to stick to the top 8 guards but his defensive experience is still up there.
He fits better on the Mavs than he would on the Lakers. Luka is the best kick out passer in the league at creating wide open 3's for his teammates. They just don't make them consistently. Klay shoots 45% on wide open 3's. It's a match made in heaven, at least on paper
Any day LeFraud gets denied anything is a great day for us Warrior fans. Painful to see Klay go even though it is TIME FOR HIM TO GROW as a Man - I wish him so well cuz we loved him.
As a Warriors fan but also a long time ago fan of UC Berkely Jason Kidd I think Klay was attracted to many things with the Mavs one of the big ones being playing for JK.
What I’m excited about this team is Practice. Klay and Curry shot sessions are infamous. You see online Luka and Kyrie practicing moves all day. It’s contagious and leaves a routine and culture to development. Look at Pod and Poole. You saw some Mavs hit some crazy layup packages too.
So excited for him. It’s hilarious that people think he will just sit in the corner and not have any movement. Mavs have tried these things but didn’t have the personnel. Jkidd and staff and get really creative with the offense
“Clear”? Klay did leave his feet but it definitely wasn’t clear! I not only had to slow the video down but also had to zoom in on his left foot in order to see it!
I believe in Klay, the warriors exhibited moments of bad coaching this past season especially. I saw Klay Givin Jokic the defensive business. He ain't no joke, He's a bit streakish offensively but I would definitely keep him on a roster with proper coaching.
I like Luka Kyrie and KT. But Mav's trategy is so stagnant and non-creative compared to Warrior's. Not sure if Klay would suit Mavs system or if they would change their game style for Klay.
LOL? Mavs lost in the finals because they couldn't hit their open 3s, they shot 22% on 3s in the finals yet every game was close and Mavs had a chance to win it all, With klay they got a chance to beat even celtics.
He's gonna take the the THJ role but with more minutes(i think he's gonna start most games but he might not always close some of them). He's not the lockdown defender he used to be but he is still above average and being a much consistent shooter it's whats gonna allow him to have a bigger role than Tim. The ''hole'' on the POA defense is that people are pointing out is something that Naji/Grimes/Exum can take care of depending on the matchup, thats what they did last season, DJJ became the starting 3 after Exum got injured and THJ got into a slump
Klay will start at the 3, with PJ at the 4, but I think Mavs will eventually realise Klay fits best at the 4. One of the others then fights it out for the starting 3 spot. Im really hoping it's Grimes, cause he looked like a star in the making his second year.
I am a huge Klay Thomspon fan, and it hurt to see him injured so badly. The Mavs need some defensive help (Kyrie and Luka are super bad on defense). Prime Klay would have been perfect, but current-day Klay isn't close to being the lockdown perimeter defender he once was. I agree with this video's observations about opening up the offense, but on defense the Mavs are still going to struggle.
California vs. Texas: California has one of the highest state income tax rates in the United States, with the top marginal rate at 13.3%. In contrast, Texas has no state income tax, which can significantly affect the net income of high earners. For an athlete like Klay Thompson, who earns a substantial salary, moving to a state with no income tax can result in considerable savings.
The fact that he was willing to take such a massive paycut makes me think he's finally come to terms with the fact he's not a superstar anymore: he'll come off the bench, he won't play as many minutes, but he's fine with that now. I think he left the Warriors because they still treated him like a star when he isn't one anymore, so he was getting more flak than he deserved when he didn't perform.
Klay is a superstar. All the drama on the dubs and the pressure just getting to him. Reset and behold. I just wish he knew he doesn’t have anything to prove. I think he wants to prove to himself though he his own worse enemy.
They better not sleep on Klay. I still believe he has a few good years left and definitely will help us out. Offensively….. defensively we will be fine as it was shown in the finals. It was our offense that let us down the three-point shooting
Luka and Kyrie already proved the morons wrong when they said they wouldn’t work together. They’re both basketball geniuses and will adapt to get the absolute most out of Klay’s game.
the thing that i dont like about this trades with this is the cores are not growing together, making their championships less. since older player will retire earlier than the younger ones.
I hope it works out for Klay and the Mavs but this video seems to be an extremely optimistic take on what he will bring this team. He lost his starter job in GS for a reason and the Warriors almost instantly started winning again when they did that.

The playoffs are the playoffs. Scheming and planning and all that. If they're health these guys are going to roll trough the regular season.
His catch and shoot was over 50%
@@vantianhergheligiu12 The final form of the Mavs does not have PJ in the starting lineup.
@@dundalis 3 ain’t everything and klay not guarding the 4 at his age dafuq
Mavs just upgraded big time
You been on the GRIND this offseason. MUCH appreciated breakdowns!!!
Much appreciated!! Yeh working everyday atm lol but really appreciate the support
Watching the Mavs role players and Kai in the finals was painful, I think Klay will make the team more versatile and dangerous, and that's wild to say with that team. It may take some time to get them to fit the new system, but I expect they will figure it out and that the Mavs will be a lot of fun to watch.
3:36 is a violation 6Man... but its so true it hurts lol. Glad we got Klay as a mavs fan, only wishing the best for Timmy in Detroit
Can’t believe the Mavs got Klay Thompson the splash brother. Mavs winning 3 straight championships
Don’t jinx it 😅😭
let them win 1 first, then dream of dynasty
Bet they won't even get one this year lol
Became a mavs fan after this trade lol
al horford is 38, and he's a beast.
Can he go for one more season at that level?
@@fringe_minorityabsolutely
Horford could perform in the finals because east was cupcake and celtics weren't challenged, If any of the series in the east were closer he would be gassed by the finals.
@@djkido316they weren't challenged in the finals either 💀
al horford doesn't have 2 bum knees hobbling him
this next year is definety going to be a repeat of mavs being western conference champs, and i actually want to see the rematch between boston so we can get them back. klay is getting ring 5, luka is getting a ring, and kyrie is getting ring 2
we surely do need parody, so I wouldn't mind a rematch
The staggering of Kai and Klay with and without Luka will be the key. As long as Klay is all about winning it shouldn’t be a problem. He will still get his minutes. And wide butt ass open shots.
1:00 the up and down of death😂😂Can't wait to see the new mavs this season.
Terrific signing.
Wow thanks for this - looks like Lively / Gafford gonna feast some more
We've seen that Jason Kidd can get people to buy into the Mavs defence. People made fun of Luka for his Defence in the finals (even though he was on the injury report literally every single playoff game) but the Mavs have genuinely improved leaps and bounds defensively since the trade deadline. To a point where they had the 2nd or 3rd best defence in the league at times.
Thanks for the video man keep up good work 🙏
🙏
He will, whatever shots THJ was getting, now it will go to Klay. He'll probably get even more touches, considering he can actually play basketball.
Bro Luka gives the ball up so often wym, the shooters just don’t hit their shots 😂
Luka probably gonna be avg 30 15 and 10 next season wit Klay
@@plugmenace8513 Yes! I wonder why people talk like Luka ballhogs the entire time we have seen in the playoffs he is willing to pass the ball, the roleplayers just dont hit them!
Tell me more about how you or anyone who upvoted you doesn't watch Mavs games.
When people feel that their contributions are valued and their presence is respected, they are more motivated and engaged. This leads to higher levels of performance and satisfaction.
In the context of sports, athletes who feel supported and appreciated by their team, coaches, and fans are likely to perform better.
@@sueprator9314 Haha yeah i agree with that
This will be fun for the video games!
Steph n Klay splashing 3s back to back, and kyrie in the mix shiiiii this Gon be fun game to watch
Klays passing is very underrated
Best case scenario would be for Luka to learn a thing or two from Klay's offball movement
Now, he can just conentrate on 3 and D, this last years on the Warriors were confusing, with 2 most inconsistent players wiggins and kumminga
RIP Trayce Jackson-Davis open lanes to the basket
They will be missed. Obviously still have Steph lol but him and Klay had chemistry for days
Facts it was the most random thing klay has never been a playmaker but they connected so well
Mavs dont need a 100% prime Klay. even a 50% Klay with 3-4 3pg is enough.
OKC fans gonna be salty about this. I should know 😭
I THINK KIDD KNOW HOW TO HANDLE KLAY MINUTES AND ROLE, LIKE KID WHEN HE GOES TO DALLAS 2O11 AS VETERAN,
As a Warriors fan but also a long time ago fan of UC Berkely Jason Kidd I think Klay was attracted to many things with the Mavs one of the big ones being playing for JK.
17m means sixth man... for 2024-25
This was easily the best move of the offseason. The Klay Thompson hate is insane.
This is a 70 win team..
😂😂😂😂
And this is also the Dallas Cowboy's year right? LMAO
I could definitely see them winning 60, if Kiddo wasn't the coach
I'd be happy with 60 and a Championship!
Maybe in 2017 😂
What I’m excited about this team is Practice. Klay and Curry shot sessions are infamous. You see online Luka and Kyrie practicing moves all day. It’s contagious and leaves a routine and culture to development. Look at Pod and Poole. You saw some Mavs hit some crazy layup packages too.
Great content, if Mavs will simplify the use of Klay they gonna have threats on 3 areas of the offense with consistent outside shooting.
I can't express how excited I am for next season!! Klay will fit perfect for what the team needs in offense
As a warriors fan I am sad to see Klay go but know its better for him and I don't want to see him upset like he was last season.
that up & down @ 1:00... i couldn't get my eyes off it
So excited for him. It’s hilarious that people think he will just sit in the corner and not have any movement. Mavs have tried these things but didn’t have the personnel. Jkidd and staff and get really creative with the offense
Top video. You always deliver!
Thank you so much!
Who is this Paolo Banschero guy everyone is talking about? Great Video 👍
Cant wait to see Klay suit up for the Mavs!
1:00 uncalled clear jump
lmao, yeah caught that too
Welcome to the NBA lol
“Clear”? Klay did leave his feet but it definitely wasn’t clear! I not only had to slow the video down but also had to zoom in on his left foot in order to see it!
@@gregoryharlston0602I think you just have a vision problem then no offense
Great video man
Not the “KOBE!” Text 😂😂😂
I believe in Klay, the warriors exhibited moments of bad coaching this past season especially. I saw Klay Givin Jokic the defensive business. He ain't no joke, He's a bit streakish offensively but I would definitely keep him on a roster with proper coaching.
this 25 season is gonna be legendaryyyyyyyy, go mavs
Basically, if klay humbles himself and that’s if then he can be an amazing vet role player
Nice vid my guy, bit of reverb in your voice still but it's manageable
Appreciate that, yeh I had to move a lot of shit out of my room so its a bit on an echo chamber atm lol
Your logic is top notch
Excellent breakdown
As a Maverick, im so excited to watch Klay play with us
I like Luka Kyrie and KT.
Great breakdown 👍🏼👍🏼
excited to watch Klay play with Dallas!
Hey bro do more content!! To skyrocket your channel!!!! Btw, how is the rpm from ads? Think is low for sports right?
Hes exactly what we need 💪🏻
He has the best shooting form in the NBA. That should allow him to still be a solid player as he gets older.
mavs are going to be DANGEROUS man
He's gonna take the the THJ role but with more minutes(i think he's gonna start most games but he might not always close some of them).
@@dundalisPJ ain't coming off the bench so Klay will stay at the 4
I am a huge Klay Thomspon fan, and it hurt to see him injured so badly.
Klay knew what he was doing when Mavs made the offer. Klay probably saw a system that fit him better than the Lakers, BUT....
Stupid thatz why he left the Warriors he is not gonna be on the bench in Dallas
Klay is a superstar. All the drama on the dubs and the pressure just getting to him. Reset and behold. I just wish he knew he doesn’t have anything to prove. I think he wants to prove to himself though he his own worse enemy.
They acting like 40% 3 point percentage still isnt elite.. we just got use to his high standard. 44%. The Bar is so high for Him.
They better not sleep on Klay. I still believe he has a few good years left and definitely will help us out. Offensively….. defensively we will be fine as it was shown in the finals. It was our offense that let us down the three-point shooting
I think Klay is gonna have a bounce back year.
you are right ! Klay is not done at all. i think hes about to go absolute nuclear
imagine if DLive start shooting 3s
65 win team
Having a wingman like klay opens the court
Luka and Kyrie already proved the morons wrong when they said they wouldn’t work together. They’re both basketball geniuses and will adapt to get the absolute most out of Klay’s game.
Whoa, DLive and Gaff are going to be happy!
No longer catch and shoot guy. He's now shoot and catch the rebound then run the other way.
Get ready for Trey Klay to return to form. I could see him lighting it up to 70 points next year.
the thing that i dont like about this trades with this is the cores are not growing together, making their championships less. since older player will retire earlier than the younger ones.
I hope it works out for Klay and the Mavs but this video seems to be an extremely optimistic take on what he will bring this team. He lost his starter job in GS for a reason and the Warriors almost instantly started winning again when they did that.
He was asked to be the second option. He will be 3rd in Dallas with way less pressure.
I hope Klay the most success.
Running it back to the finals
Hell yeah... run it back 😁
@@dpend19 sounds nice
Great analysis
klay has never played with someone that can swing the ball like luka. Klay cuts and moves to space as a pure shooter. i also like low expectation.
this is a confidence game, dont think hes coming back at all
