First off, Quake is limited by the five star availability. Is there a 6 star Quake? No. Secondly, there's so many things in this Meta that can counter Quake. Scorpion can shred high health bars with barely any difficulty on multiple nodes by himself, even without synergies. With Quake fights take pretty much forever, and you're always on the edge of "if you mess up somehow you lose". Its mostly skill but also when I use Quake I see a lot of AI patterns that deliberately try to bypass her cheese ability (though not too much of a problem). I would agree that if Quake was available as a 6 star, a 6 star rank 5 Quake could certainly take on a ton of content by herself, though damage-scaling I would still prefer Scorpion -- but she would definitely shred with that increased damage. As of now though she is not included as a 6 star so Scorpion is best science no debate. Scorpion literally holds records for fastest clears cause his sting damage even pierces damage caps (i.e. AOL, LOL), and so much utility with those immunities and whatnot. 6 star rank 4 Scorpion is already broken. For Quake to shine she'll have to be probably rank 5 to keep up with the meta health pools, but using Scorpion he one shots in a single special. Scorpion >> rest of science class honestly 9/10. Also, there's no way she's being used in Masters AW except for synergy lol.
He could have chosen anything except shock but I am also confused on why Poison wasn't taken even in the Rintrah match ...He might have thought something that we don't know ..I guess ..

The poison has heal redurection and its helps more.
This makes scrop rupture immune from rintrah... Just totally shuts him down

Because Rupture Is Physical Damage...And Rintrah Has Energy Resistance 🙂...I Think i.e. why
He has hulk relic which lowers opponent’s physical resistance and ruptur damage scales with physical resistance
