I have the Garmin R10 also gives club data without any extra costs. I saw a video comparing club numbers of the R10 with GC3 and it wasn't exactly the same but wasn't horrible either. I have researched whether it would be worth buying the Mevo+ to replace the R10 but haven't found any feedback that would justify the significant outlay to do it. I think the next launch monitor I get to upgrade from the R10 isn't on the market yet. This technology seems to going in the direction of being more affordable for the average golfer. Nice review though.
The R10 being so much cheaper than Mevo+ and Skytrak make it almost too good to pass up. The only downside from Mevo+ is the lack of putting if you are into sim. I think a lot of R10 owners will do just what you are and eventually upgrade to a GC3 or other.
@@mquertinmont Can’t argue mevo plus is a better bit of kit . It has putting but heard that isn’t great on it . I saw a YT video comparing the R10 and the Mevo Plus against a high end Uneekor as source of truth. While the Mevo+ was overall very close to the Uneekor, the R10 did a decent job on distance, but its shot shape was completely off. So it is ok to have some simulator fun, but it is unsuitable as a golf learning tool.
Cool thing is if you use tgc19 with out pro package, it shows your club path. And while it is calculated. I have found it to be accurate enough. On command I can make it say like 2 in to out. Or 2 out to in. I can almost hit the numbers every swing with irons.
Thank you for these videos on your page. I had a skytrak before i parted ways with it. I have a Lifetime TGC membership though and have TGC 19, im most certain im making my choice to get the flightscope mevo+ next when i get back to my sim and build and everything. Cant wait!!
Glad it was helpful! My only advice is if you want great putting on your sim make sure your setup is exactly like the recommendation from Flightscope with everything on one surface level. It can be touchy…
It was my first launch monitor and definitely exceeded my expectations. There's no comparison to being able to get so many more swings in during the week while getting all that data at the same time.
pro package 100% worth it if you are a serious golfer and practice with this device. If you just want carry distance for gapping or to work on swing speed don't bother. If you are working on your swing and understand professional metrics of d plane measurements like path and face to path/target then this is a great upgrade. Makes the memo plus just like a trackman.
Agreed! For those that aren’t too confident with the golf swing I would recommend taking lessons in combination with using their launch monitor on their own.
I'm currently taking some lessons and swing path along with face to path are vital metrics. Literally the main reason I'm even looking at purchasing a launch monitoring device to practice at home on the things the instructor and I covered in the previous lesson.
You have been so helpful. Question if running GSPro with Flightscope Pro Package with Face Location; do you know if you can see the face impact image on the advanced screen in GSPro ?
Don’t need pro package to get Dynamic Loft. If you know Spin Loft and Angle of Attack you can deduce Dynamic Loft. Both Spin Loft and AoA come with device at no extra cost. Add AoA to Spin Loft and you get Dynamic Loft. I don’t trust mats, I only practice off grass. To get accurate club data, it needs to be set up very accurately. When practicing off grass and moving ball position after each divot, it reduces accuracy. Half the time I’m getting wrong club data, which just ends up confusing things. If you practice enough, you’ll be able to work the ball just fine without knowing the degree of club path. The tedious setup each day at range to maximize accuracy of club data, and not being confident it’s always accurate isn’t worth it.
Excellent breakdown, thankyou. Do you know if the pro package once purchased is bound to the unit itself, so if it was to be sold would the new owner have access? Thanks again
My understanding is that the pro package is bound to the unit but the free E6 courses are tied to your email. Unless you used a throwaway email account you can give to the buyer they won’t be able to use the free e6 license.
Does the pro package go on sale for Black Friday? Or do they just lower the price of the device itself? I’ve had the 2023 Mevo plus for about a week now and at the moment it provides enough for me, but I’m a guy that likes to have everything offered so the pro package is definitely looking like something I’m wanting to get. But I can wait if it goes on sale in November
From my memory last year they had both the unit and the pro package on sale for Black Friday but I checked my emails and could only find some that advertised the device on sale. I did find an email that the pro package was on sale during the PGA Show in January for $799. I'm about 90% sure it was on sale for the same price during Black Friday as well.
Sorry to bother again but my GSPro just updated to 2.05 (Public, Non-Beta) today and I was super pumped to switch on fusion mode, RCT, and use the bag feature. They were all shown on the beta but under this version Fusion mode and RCT do not show up as options within the Flightscope Mevo + 2023 interface for GSPro. The bag options work but not the fusion or RCT balls. Any ideas why that would be? Thanks as always.
No bother at all! Unfortunately I haven’t used my Mevo Plus with GSPro in a while but hope to get back to it soon. I would check in the SGT discord OR since Flightscope is a supported launch monitor just email support@gspro.com and see what they say. Sorry I don’t have the answer on this one.
I suppose the pro package has its benefits. Its pretty easy to deduce club data from the ball flight though. For example, ball starts right with a slice = in to out with an open face, ball starts right with a draw = in to out, closed face to path, ball starts left and hooks=out to in path, closed face etc etc. The pro package is really there if you want to put a number and metric against these shot shapes. Another point worth mentioning, is that many pro's dont trust radar based systems for club data, particularly ball impact location. That's why many use quad and trackman. Trackman for complete downrange tracking and quad for club and ball impact data. For example, i think Bryson and Bubba have endorsed flightscope, but if you see them on the range, they also have a quad.
Quad provides normalized data because its flight model is entirely calculated. Then they can compare it to the actual flight data from Trackman and see how the two differ due to location and weather conditions on any given day.
Each session with an individual club is tracked but I don’t think there’s a way to view all data from a single club over multiple sessions. Sorry if that’s not what you were asking…
The software only uses the basic ball data to determine and show the ball flight so that won’t change with the pro package. This is generally the same with all launch monitors, ball data is used to display the shot and club data is just extra information for the user.
I must have missed it....can the "pro" be added at a later time if you just wanted to start with the "plus" and add the "pro" later for a certain fixed price????
Absolutely. You can add it anytime easily. It’s for sale on the flight scope mevo website as a standalone upgrade. They just email you an activation code you put in the app and you have it instantly.
Hi. I have just brought the Plus and the pro package, and want to only use this at my local driving range. Having connection issues, app crashes, Mevo disconnects and presently I cannot use a £2500+ worth of kit. Any chance you have experience with setting this up at a range
I have only used it at the driving range once or twice but I’ve never experienced the problems you’re describing. I would definitely contact flightscope support and see what they say. You could have a defective unit or it could be related to the mobile device you’re using.

The R10 reads only three data points , it does math on the rest (estimate). The Mevo + gives you more actual recorded Data.

Definitely. There's a lot of people that don't need the extra data and especially if it's wrong. Sometimes having less information is better too.
