I discovered this function few days ago as the temperature finally became to be very cold here (Toulouse, France). I used it like you via the App, but I launched it via the Apple Watch and it worked very nice. I already have used this function but it was in summer and the car was plugged, A/C worked fine also with very hot temperatures :-)
It's silly that you can't set the temperature through the app. And does this feature also warm up the combustion engine and the oil? It's very cold where i am atm 😅
Hello, Even for the newer A3 TFSIe, temperature can’t be set through the app, which is quite disappointing, but you can remotely lock and unlock the car (at least that). That s also a question a was asking myself but I strongly doubt it heats the ICE or oil.

@@funcarreviews both i can hear the beeps that im close to something but i cant see anything on the display. The button that you have next to the danger triangle the P-A button is dont have it
@iclapsqueakers_9249 I think that in that case you do not have the options. The button that i have that you don’t allows you to manually activate the sensors and have it displayed on the MMI (something that is called Optical Parking System if not mistaken). I thought that was standard on the facelift but maybe not ? If you do not have this, I guess you can’t have the automated parking system. Those are 2 separate buttons.
Hello, As far as I know, no it does not heat up the fuel motor. I never used the time of departure but usually it says on maximum 15-20 minutes. I can not tell you more about the time of departure sorry 😅.
Hello, No it is not mandatory. But you need enough battery and fuel. If one of those is low it will not work. Also as I also explained in another of my videos on the subject, it will work great without charging and while charging on an industrial socket, but it will not work well at all if plugged in on a home socket.
@@funcarreviewsthanku, after I press the start-stop button to start the car. I see that epc en motor symbol displayed, does that mean something is wrong with the car or the car is just in contact but not started. Does this happen when u don’t use the brakes to start the car?
@muusesharif2597 EPC and motor symbols will stay on usually UNTIL you start the car, pressing the brake pedal and pressing the start/stop button. If they go away after, all is ok. So yes, in contact but not started.

Yes the preheating (or cooling) is sooooo great on this car. Not regretting it :)

Yes it works very well in summer. Car can get extremely cold so thats great :)
