What ticks me off most about this visit is that we the taxpayers are footing the bill for this “apology”. Like really if you want to come and apologize sure go for it but why not have the Catholic Church pay for this including all the added security. Why are we the taxpayers paying for this? This “visit” should have been payed for by the Catholic Church!
He is a head of the Vatican state one of the smallest nations in the world, he apologized as a head of the catholic Church ,church which commitee . Being a head of state will get full governmental protection.does any leaders in world ask for forgiveness? Does Taliban ask forgiveness for their crime ,for killing people? They kill people for their religion and god m does any muslim leaders ask forgiveness for their people's crime against humanity? Does Nigerian leaders ask for forgiveness for killing christians in Nigeria? None ,being servant of Jesus Christ ,he did it.
You really have a point but this still remains a state visit. The Pope whenever he goes, he's both the head of the Catholic Church and head of the Vatican City(which is a state/country). So arrangements remain the same no matter the cause. Don't be upset for any other reason. Good luck!!!
All those cars. Now that’s what I call Care for our Common Home. “There is an urgent need to develop policies so that, in the next few years, the emission of carbon dioxide and other highly polluting gases can be drastically reduced, for exam- ple, substituting for fossil fuels and developing sources of renewable energy.” - Pope Francis, Laudato Si, 26.
You must really be crazy. The Pope travels in just one Car, You must be informed that driving a dignitaries and Heads of state is really complicated and a logistical challenge beyond anyone's control . For a person of his calibre, you always travel with a team and everyone needs maximum protection. How much does a Fiat cost or emit and how much is a reliable electric car that can go for unpredictable miles on a single charge for a head of state cost right now!! Maybe you want him to carry 4 electric cars for himself on every trip.
Yes, that's exactly right. Plus the car itself, a Fiat, is Italian so it shows solidarity with the Vatican City which is in Italy. Sadly Italy doesn't produce any larger mainstream (ie not premium/luxury) cars anymore.
I accept that the motivating force of Franciscans is humility, but travelling in a Fiat 500 does not prove a point. The Holy Father is a Head of State and should accept the trappings accordingly. Anything else is an affront to millions of his followers. It started from day 1 with his rejection of wearing the blood-red shoes of the Pontiff. Those comments are from an Anglican and I do not wish any disrespect. I have the highest regard for the Holy Father but He must consider His wider flock, or as a non-catholic am, I missing something.
I’m amazed on how the pope was able to drive from Vatican City to Edmonton in that FIAT 500
Is that supposed to be comedy or did your mother make your baby formula with tapwater then microwaved it.
@@drseanpatrick696: yup
Good gas mileage
@@TravelMan783 : tired legs too
All that fanfare for a lost man.
To have everlasting life you absolutely must trust in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.
God bless you holy father!
Mmmh

Because your attempt at comedy is not working.
@@forfuxakes6814 It wasn’t an attempt at comedy. That was a rhetorical question as you made it so obvious.
