As a manga reader I'm pretty sure the intro reflects the happiness and joy the family have. Even though it's "fake" thier actually starting to become a family very slowly but surely.

I was in Shibuya today and they were playing this song on the speakers. It was a spring day and I saw people playing gachapons, I heard highschool girls laughing and hanging out, I was watching tourists running to take photos at shibuya crossing.
It wad the most anime like montage vibe i’ve ever felt and it made me love this song even more. What a vibe I just experienced
"Mixed Nuts" tells us that no matter how different they are, they can accept each other regardless of lies and secrets.
"Souvenir" on the other hand tells the story of a family on their way home to tell the things they saw and liked... Both, both are good..
I never read the manga, so this observation is based on the anime only.
IMO the 1st season opening caught the chaotic and gloom part of the story, and the 2nd is more cheerful and colorful as the family grows closer to become a real family.
Can't wait for season 2!
It starts off with a pretty dark arc in comparison to what we've seen so far. But yes, even that is a stepping stone to the barrage of wholesome chapters we'll be getting an adaption of this season ♥️

When I first saw the anime OP I was blown away by the beauty of it. It's just so breathtaking for me, the pretty colours and the gentle melody really go together... I felt curious to what the lyrics meant, and when I saw this for the first time it made me cry a river. I still can't believe that a song can have such a beautiful meaning behind it
I couldn't praised enough about this song. I just saw the opening video and from the visual I thought how beautiful they telling the relationship about a child and and her mother. And I saw this lyric I can confirm yeah it is even more beautiful that I though it is. I like the the tone of the song which for me sounds like some epic child hopping toward something in her little adventure (also that anya’s signature "iya, iya...") I love that they wrap it up (no pun intended) by wrapping the “souvenir” Anya takes thought out the video with a ribbon. Kids loves to put ribbon on everything they see when they just learned how to tie a ribbon for the first time. It just makes me smile how they incorporate all of that into the lyric.
Thought far fetched the red ribbon I think is like a red string of fate that hold them together and also a substitute of umbilical cord that doesn’t exist between yor and anya. Like how amazing it is that if that the case.
And don't get started with the "souvenir". Damn with all the analogies, the lyricist is such a poet.

I started watching this anime with my best friend who recently passed; every time I listen to this song it brings me back to him.
I really liked the melody of this song

The animation of intros really make the song pop more than it would if you listened it only. Picturing that car ride and the floral bloom really makes the song have more flow honestly.

every time I play this song I always feel like going for a long walk around my neighborhood, masterpiece
I've been doing that a lot for like a year in the place I live, LOL. ^^; Hard to explain, but I live in a very heavily wooded and hilly place that takes like a whole hour or 40 minutes depending on my route to go around my whole neighborhood which is also connected to some pretty long highways. :p And than within those big circles are regular mini sized neighborhoods. :? Back when all my previous homes were the sizes of those like my last home, I think that took only maybe like... 10 minutes each time. :p
I think going to the grocery store and back back than which was just next door took like an hour total too from how it took a while to get groceries on top of walking to and back than. :?
I've surprisingly walked a lot some days for an otaku and don't have social anxiety so bad that I can't even shop. :p As for a personal level outside of talking online though, well... Sigh... maybe... but that's another story altogether. :p
I love all the country/rural based manga out there too or whatever, like Non Non Biyori and Yurucamp, but there's also ones like Encouragemt of Climb and Slow Loop. :p I think I got that 4th name right... It's like, the third one is all about mountain climbing, but with moe just like the others, and same for Slow Loop, but with... fishing I think. :? They make that kind of lifestyle seem fun. :p

Weird take but I never skipped this OP compared to OP 1. I enjoyed listening to this more as it gives me a more comfy vibe and it sounds better to me too. Both OPs are great but maybe I'm just a big fan of Bump of Chicken so OP 2 takes the cake for me

Something I noticed
Aside from the fact that OP 1 is about being able to get along despite everyone's conflicting differences, and this one being more about Loid's thankfulness to have someone he personally wants to protect, love, and be with, even if it's "fake"
I noticed that the instrumental, and thr singing style fit their "situation" best
Mixed Nuts is almost chaotic, there's a lot of instruments, an overall fast, jazzy tempo, a lot of high notes and shouts from the singer and all that, representing the chaoticness they felt trying to settle in with their new life, their new family
Souvenir is at a point where everything is much more "mellow," with a much "clearer" tempo, less instruments, and the singer not really being "too intense," to the point that the song itself is relaxing, feels like how the Forgers feel. Everyone knows each other, how to live life, they've basically settled in pretty well with one another

so happy to see bump of chicken as anime openings after finding their pokemon collab music video. their music is so joyful. they seem to make the little moments glitter.
Hearing this song for the first time within the anime truly brought a smile to my face! I'm not yet caught up with the manga or the anime, but from what I've accomplished so far, I'm really looking forward to more development from within these characters; especially with Loid in particular. Yor's character as well is really starting to grow on me 😊

I felt the same way about this opening when I first listened to it. IT SOUNDS SO FAMILIAR. Took me a while, but I figured it out, for me, the very beginning of this song is an almost perfect match for the very beginning of the 3rd opening to Katekyo Hitman Reborn "Dive to World." Reborn was one of the first anime I got into, so it brings me back to a very nostalgic time.
I'm sure for other people, different songs and memories are brought up. Which makes sense. "Souvenir's" lyrics are already very nostalgic, so it feels right that the melody is nostalgic too.
I don't know why but i love this OP than the first one😂
I am definitely saying that until the end of 2023 this show character will become a real family

OP 2 focus on the happiness of family, whereas OP 1 focused on the spy.
I love all the music for this anime, But i gotta say, I love this op much more due to the meaning behind it. It feels like loid is confessing he truly does love Anya, Yor and Bond and doesn't want to lose or leave them even once STRIX is over. If you read the translation then watch the opening's visuals you'll see that all his time with them is precious to him every moment of joy and even sadness is important to him.
Maybe thats just me but, yeah I love this op and arguably it sounds better to me.

Like most others, I like this op. It gives very happy and cheerful vibes, depicting the family is growing but I liked the op 1 more for both the music and the lyrics. I am an anime only (no spoilers pls). Mixed nuts felt so much like the anime, showing literally what the show is. This one however at some parts, fails to let me relate to the plot. It is still good and maybe I will be able to relate it to the show by the time the season ends.

I think that OP 1 is just more unique and full of personality because of how different it is. It literally had peanuts in the lyrics so it had a lot of Spy x Family's spirit in the song.
I personally love Bump of Chicken to death so I love this OP. OP2 feels a lot like a spectacle, like it's announcing you're gonna have a great time with the characters you already know. It's upbeat and it's fun to listen to, a certified bop.
I will learn the full version of this someday. But I need to learn the first 90 seconds first 🤣
