This song made you drop your filter. It's great. It's a good song too, catchy af, message about community just helping each other. I live in rural, a town of 200 people. Really small town, and the little towns nearby aren't huge either, but it's very different from the cities. I moved here for that reason. As a nice story about community, my son is special needs, and we qualified to get a service dog (epilepsy seizure detection and companion for autism/intellectual disability). Cost was over 20k AUD. No way we could afford that, me and the wife are both permanently disabled, no real income. We went to some local places... Anyway, my wife met with the owner of one of the biggest meat companies here, and was expecting just a little donation towards the total. He said "how much?" She was like "as much as you want" still not getting what he meant. He said no, how much is the whole cost. Wrote the full check right there. Our dogs amazing and works as a comfort dog for the whole family, checked on me while I was hospitalised last year, always has to make sure I'm ok after any incidents with my own neurologic disorder. Major blessing. So two things there, small town generosity, and the rich aren't all evil. That's just media spin too. There's good and bad in every group, every demographic, but everyone individually has the capacity to do good things. Imagine, if instead of burning buildings and stealing and assaulting people, they put that energy to helping the underprivileged, the homeless, giving hope to people instead of just throwing tantrums and creating more division...
