one summer in say my end of year 11 in roughly 95 , my mum bought me a Sony top loading radio set from up Tottenham court road , shahsonics know the cinema there, and She bought me the slimline Aiwa gold Walkman with feather touch buttons , came in some heavy case . Anyhow I was initially started on listening to kool FM, I went through the dial and heard this tune , dreem team and MC Mikey b was on the dejavu 923fm I was totally hooked on. After that and the sheer quality of spoony and Timmy majiks technique on that x fader, I never looked back and am still today a true old school garage connoisseur at 💓. These man are the pioneers of the garage scenes from the word go and built dejas reputation for excellence and quality control of the airwaves and the club scenes. I was to young of a brudda to attend the raves but I would in my heart dream as if I was there whenever I heard the adverts for the upcoming events and would follow in my heart as if I was der shocking out and showing much appreciation blowing the whistle or horn 😊😊😊😊🤗🤗 , I'm so glad that I grew up in this era which is goldust and can never return or be the same ever again. MC trakka if you ever read this , do you ever recall that I called you on the studios number and offered to send you a pizza , you lol at me in a brotherly love way and said young man I can't tell you the studio location and then you gave me a special shout out, Umar and the Leyton crew big up yourselves u said. I somehow lost those tapes and gutted. The vu 923fm was the LIK! ID like to personally thank you all from the rig technician's and studios crews behind the scenes and all the DJs and mcs. My uncle raff used to work at record village with kier and iused to always ask about u trakka and spoony and Timmy and sting who took over the dial from the big hench black man who unfortunately went to hmp for what reason I don't know. Nuff tuff love to you all and all the old school garage connoisseur's and followers. Umar. 💓 Uploader your weighty nang
LON DON -- I can 100% relate to your comment. '93 i got my first radio, scrolling that dial and discovering the many pirates available where i was in NW London. Mac FM, Dream FM, Girls FM, Transmission One, and many many more. Got me into jungle, house, hardcore and later garage and drum n bass. The MCs doing their work over the tunes, shout outs, rhyming..., my imagination showing me them up in a high rise somewhere with illegal transmitters bolted up on the roof, sometimes the transmission would suddenly stop and wouldn't come back for several days or longer. They were golden days, the days of worry free childhood, discovering 'our' music, our generation treading its path -- these things happened all that time ago and stay with us our whole lives. i hear that music again now and I'm back in my old bedroom, listening to that radio, listening to music my parents didn't even know existed, recording it on D90 tapes and taking them into school in the Walkman... Just awesome and you are right to want to thank all those people who make this possible for us. One love!
ha ha kids theses days have idea the time that went into the wiring up and sound testing at fields to get it perfect for a weekend cruise, don’t even know what a 6x9 is !!!
Big fucking riddim! Memories of Cookies and Cream, Twice as Nice, Sun City, Cosa Nostra, Gass Club, Club Ku, The Frog and Nightgown (one of the original 'Sunday Scene' venues) and *many* more. Wicked times man!
Unbelievable. Nearly as old as me. Really fucking creative and varied, especially for the limitations of the time! You don’t hear much creative variation like this from house/garage of this era! I’m discovering all this stuff now for the first time :)
Well, would you look at that! Blessings to Nathan and G Smoove on this.... I only just noticed B Tharme and Face on it..... After all these years, you learn something new everyday.... U guys were number 002 we were 004... Big up Baffled all day every day... 6KMA
@@samrose3205 hahaha I dunno what it is with the people who comment on others showing love for a track but people seem to be protective or something, bunch of knobs ahaha
Impossible to begin to say!! Firstly there's far too many tracks!! Where do you start? Which year? Even listing a top 20 for 1996 is tricky let alone best garage track of all time. But this tune up there with the best of 1996 productions and got played a lot in the years that followed.
Did you listen to The Dream Team on pirate radio back in the day on London Underground FM 89.4? Such a slammin' station. They had all the big names and top producers on that station. We have tons of their sets especially from this era.
This is why I love you tube music you'd never find classics like this on Spotify
