Great video on a not so great game :) I remember picking this one up because the art style looked really unique at the time, didn't really know much else about it. Played it for maybe 30 minutes before feeling nauseous from the sluggish movement, over done motion blurring and generally dark, murky visuals. TH-cam apparently thinks nearly every horror game is Amnesia in that case. I have seriously seen that in so many videos about games that were most definitely not Amnesia.

It's worth noting that the ESRB allows both male and female genitals to be in games without it getting an AO rating. However, if it's _too_ details then it goes up a rating. It's why BG3, CP2077, and quite a few other games were able to get away with it; there was a limit to the actual detail being shown.
The M rated and Censored version are both heavily altered from the release version, a lot and I mean a lot of puzzles and bits were removed, the maze you go through at the start use to be a long and piss take maze to get all the peaces to just go up the wall to leave, after the update they made it easier and now you can walk past it, a lot of puzzles were outright removed where now you just walk through them, so if you do come across a room that felt like you was supposed to do something or solve a puzzle but didn't, it's probably one of the puzzles they removed. I played it on launch and it was so fucking stressful to no end with puzzles that didn't even work or had no logic and was RNG, the maze you had to explore a dark maze with multiple things that will kill you and if you died once you had to do it all over again and I got lost because it was to dark, the maze had crevasses you had to squeeze through that were almost impossible to see. There is so so much more about this game just from the massive change they did from day 1 release and the update that removed a lot of the stuff. Would love to go through the changes if I could remember them and the problems I had with the game on day 1 and then playing it after the patch and changes but it would take way to long. 1 thing as well was the whole mess of giving those that got the game on launch the M rated version then it being removed from their accounts to then give them it as a DLC. I remember getting the M rated version for free then it being removed to then get a M rated DLC for my base version. This game has so so much about it but I'm already filling this comment out like it's story or something.
....that makes sooo much sense as to why the mazes felt completely arbitrary hahaha. You literally do just waltz right on through them and ignore 95% of it 💀 I sure wish they would have removed some of the enemies while they were at it. A stealth portion here and there would be totally fine but man are they excessive... They're such a chore to deal with in the main story mode 😭😭 It says a lot about the games mechanics when the game would be better off with them removed lol. It's really a shame this should have been such a cool game.
@early-tv I remember being interested in the game when they released their first trailer. My memories of Agony are very foggy now as it's been a long time, but this is what I can remember. .Playing the game, the second time, removed all scripted events and cutsenes .Deleting the game and reinstalling it will delete your save and all your progress. .Starting a new game to get the cutscenes and events to work would erase all progress and collectables (there was no new game plus or whatever at launch) .Human women weren't in the game, and it was just wrinkly old men (no idea if that's why the womens faces look plastic and smooth) (also extra, with the added feature of women they also added random sex and rape around the map, so now you would just see creatures and humans having sex around the map randomly which felt like someone just clicked randomly around the game placing them as they felt out of place) .Check points were brutal and wouldn't save halfway through the mission sometimes so if you died near the end of that section, you had to do it all over again (this happening in the Ice area a lot.) .Collectibles would save to check points and not when collected, so if you died before hitting the next area, you got to get them again. (This led to me spending hours looking as I remember getting 1, so I never checked, not knowing I died back then, so it unchecked it as collected) .There was more puzzles and they would lock you in a place for hours.(the maze took ages to find stuff and the checkpoint was when you first enterd, so if you got the last bit and died, you had to do it all over again, put this on top of collectong all the items as well I wasted way to much time in the maze and stressed out over it) There is so many changes and stuff removed from the launch built as I've said before, and this isn't all of it sadly or luckily, there are some others I think I remember, but since I'm not sure, 1 being. .There was only 1 ending and the others were updated in (can't tell as the only other ending I could get is having Baphomet eat you half way through the game for saving all the fallen angels, but since the main game was so against players replaying and collecting stuff, I struggled to try and get the endings untill they released the patch)
I guess the censorship-committee decided that hell would be more agonizing if women had no built-in crotch pockets and wieners could only exist in an old, wrinkly and flaccid state? I've only seen like half an hour of this game before my friend uninstalled it from his Switch. Too bad we couldn't see how well it runs on a Nintendo. Anyway, happy new year :)
Not sure how I ended up here, or why I decided to watch another video on this train wreck. I backed this on KS way back when. People were so mad at the censorship thing and it was such a non issue because the game was just... bad either way. The censorship is so strange too, like you pointed out. Dick physics (flaccid only!), different baby kill animations, kicking pregnant woman in the stomach. You put in a single vulva though, oohhh man, well that there is porn! You know it when you see it. Anyway, went back and watched some of your other videos and enjoying it so far, keep it up!
Thanks a ton, appreciate it! I agree people get very hung up over the censorship when even if Agony went balls to the walls Adult Only it would still be a chore to play. I think the weirdest thing to me about the censorship is that the female models that don't do anything remotely sexual can't have anatomically correct body textures.... but they can wave a detailed vag around in your face every time you pick up a skill fruit lmao. I guess the difference must be that it's portrayed as not on a person :'D strange rules lol.
@early-tv Oh man! I forgot about the "forbidden fruit!" Even the logo and main demon type in the game are meant to look like vaginas with teeth. I remember that they "softened" two of the endings, one being tentacle r*pe and the other being demon r*pe. They moved the camera so it wasn't so explicit in both cases. No idea about in unrated, don't care nearly enough to play it again. To anyone who really wants to see the endings, just pick up a cheap VN on steam. About the same level of character design, and probably better gameplay.
...You know a game is bad when it compares unfavorably to Demonophobia in all departments except the graphic assets, including visibility, and that fetish game has urinating yourself as a puzzle solution that makes sense in context.
I remember hearing reviews of this game back when it was released, people decrying how censorship had killed it and attempting to dig deeper meaning from it as if it was some lost piece of true art. It's honestly hilarious to me how much people will defend rubbish like this in the name of censorship when they really just want to see tits and gore. At least be honest when you defend shit like this.
Games like these prove how much of a group effort game developing truly is. You can tell the 3D artists and designers were top notch, but... the programmers and other devs were either cut short on time or trying to do something far beyond their skills. Many of the issues you point out have a clear solution that I'm sure the devs would have found out, if they had the time or experience for it... like the jagged floor issue: simply craft the gameplay colliders manually, so the floor is always smooth and any detail that points out can be either phased through or hovered over. Redoing collisions manually takes a bit of trial and error and a lot of time, but it's easily done and does wonders to help gameplay. Lightning is the same. Trial and error and testing on different screens. I'm sure it looked fine on whatever screen they tested on, but wrong color profiles and callibration can turn the user experience into a nightmare, and as bothersome as it is, it's a dev's responsibility to try to account for that issue as much as possible.
This game really does have some fantastic designs and cool ideas, but like yeah it just didn't come together in a way that fully works. Right on the money with the lighting issue, no matter how much I cranked up the brightness in certain sections it'd still look pitch black but I've seen a lot of comments of people saying they never had an issue with the lighting so I'm sure it looks perfectly fine for some users. Developing is extremely tough. I've heard the Uncensored version fixes some of these issues.
@@early-tv I've studied graphic design for printing and it's the same issue. No matter how well you try to adjust the brightness and saturation values of your work, there's always going to be some miscommunication between what you see on your screen, what others see on their screen and what eventually comes out of the printing machines. It's basically a guessing game and it might be an error on your end, on the developers' end, or basically that the game visuals work on some configurations but not on others. It all ends up boiling down to a lack of testing in my opinion. About the censoring, though, there's a lot to be said. I find it quite baffling that newborn babies can be used as mortar, but a vagina can't be shown.
"....talking about their next game, Succubus, before they finished Agony..." Me: They made Succubus? *googles* Oh....yeah, that would be why I got a weird feeling about it when I saw the designs and theme...
Its a bit weird that female body parts had to be censored but male body parts were okay. Like it doesn't make sense. Either have both censored or not at all.
In 2018, I thought it made sense that this game folded to dodge an AO rating. Fast forward to today, and seeing Fear & Hunger thrive with _two_ AO ratings makes Agony seem so meek in comparison - and the content of F&H seems _more hellish_ because it’s not literally set in hell, so it’s not as monotonous.
I was about to take my medication and noticed I didn't have any water left--right as I got up to get more fuckin' water, I hear "Oh and, uh, wait before you go--" Classic. Easy sub.
I watched someone play through this game live when it first released, and MAN it was bad. Like even the horny weirdness didn't even register compared to how BAD the game was.
Pretty spot-on review. I got the unrated version on Steam in one bundle or another and I fired it up a few Halloweens ago, since I try to marathon horror games around that time. I can't say I felt scared, but I can say it was a miserable experience. Just deeply, deeply unpleasant to play. Which, in a way, I suppose does make it an accurate walking simulator of Hell, but that wasn't a selling point for me to continue playing it. Also, if someone campaigned on allowing vagina textures in M-rated games, I'd vote for them, solely because it's a tangible policy point which is more than other candidates have offered. So I think you have a good shot in November, Earlybird!
I remember my sister in law getting it to play, we couldnt even get past the first few parts because the game was so dark to navigate, the little light path didnt even help much. There was no explanation on what to do, so we felt like we were just running around aimlessly, they just drop you in and expect you to get it. Returned it a couple days later for something else
New to your channel, but definitely am a fan of your content and take, hilarious and respectful to devs, I never subscribe but am proud to say I have to your channel and look forward to the videos…. Keep up the hilarious work. You are awesome
Tried to play this when it first launched, but I couldnt cope with how bad it was overall. Played Succubus from start to finish though, damn that main theme still sounds awesome.
It kinda reminds me of some of the more detailed environments in doom (2016/eternal...at least the ones that werent insane) That, and the one really gory Geiger-esque art piece game. Scorn I think?
Damn I remember being exited for this, back when it was released. It looked like a really cool Hell Design and I bought it right away. It was just painfully bad. Altough I have a dim memory of having trouble with the Torch throwing as well, so its not just you. The second game of the devs, Succubus, is a lot better. By a lot better, I mean not completly shit. Decent, Not good. But if anyone wants to get a look at the cool Hell Designs, get Succubus instead. You can acctually finish that without eating your keyboard in frustration.
Haha that torch is evil... I'll have to check out Succubus at some point just out of curiosity lol. I believe the dev team has another Agony spinoff RTS in the works right now as well.
When I first started this game I had some weird bug where I was bombarded by rhythmic bursts of static that was so annoying that I turned it off five minutes in and never looked back. That bug saved me.
Really, that’s interesting lol. I kinda wanna check out Succubus out of morbid curiosity but I kinda hoped it’d be an upgrade from stuff they learned from Agony 🤔
Oh, I didn't know these games are from the same developer. Succubus has sharp but unappealing visuals, very boring combat and lots of shock content. I prefer japanese games where they can combine provocative and attractive visuals, here it's just snuff and boredom.
The fact there's a glitch on the ps5 version that not only crashes your game but erases your save file was enough to make me just quit the game altogether. Idk if they ever patched that but I don't think I'll ever pick up the game again to find out.
I’ve played the game a couple times but could never complete. Too frustrating and hard to know where to go as you pointed out. It’s a bit of a shame it turned out like that. I love the idea of hell simulators and just more openess when it comes to nudity and violent imagery. Censoring beef curtains then is just lame.
I’m assuming so, it’s also extremely covered and vague compared to the dingdong counterpart. When I was digging around through ratings stuff I also noticed that female anatomy is slightly more acceptable when mostly covered by pubes. The ESRB is strange 😂
Was skeptical going into this as I had seen this game when it came out and enjoyed watching it at least. But this not only gave new information, but I found pretty much every sentiment agreeable to some degree or another. This was a blast to watch.
I followed this game for at least a year before it came out, got. A physical copy day 1 from my local game store. (Got it for free for doing some work for the store owner) played it for about an hour and sold it back to the same store the next time I went back. Such a disappointment.
Honestly, I really enjoy Agony Unrated. By the way, while it's still a bit buggy, it's much better optimized than the original (I'm not sure if that's saying much since I avoid the original version like the plague but am fully aware how the optimization somewhat improved a bit. While it still has bugs, it was at least still functional for me), and even the ui has changed.
Do you think you can make a follow-up video on Succubus? Maybe you could touch a bit more on certain themes (like the sexual violence and infanticide), because I don't think those need and in fact should not be portrayed in the way they are in both Agony and Succubus. Great video by the way and I ended up binging all your content in one session yesterday ^^
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! ✨✨ I'm definitely curious to check out Succubus but at the same time I really don't want to play it after suffering through Agony LOL. I probably will though especially since I've heard it's a bit less tedious since you can at least fight off enemies.
Surprised that this funny game got reviewed by someone. Not a backer or anything, I 100% achievements on the unrated version. All gallery fully unlocked. I have pretty good patience but I think the game is just pain and meh. I liked the little gallery walkthrough. Some chapters like the weird mushroom foresty place for instance is just a really weird ugly assets slapped everywhere without too much thought. I never found the darkness or level design as confusing as you seemed to have or maybe it was a difference with the unrated version but I'm pretty good at spacial awareness and memory, I think, so maybe that helped me to not be in too much agony while playing this. I have played the next game Succubus too. I think it's definitely an improvement. It's like Agony but with gameplay. It is about as janky and edgy as Agony. Did you ever try the succubus gamemode in the Agony game yourself? I enjoyed that way more as you don't feel like you're in as much danger and you can I guess enjoy the visuals of the game more and take some alternate paths but you make your way to the same place as Nimrod's (the player character in normal gamemode) soul is headed if I can remember ccorrectly. Oh and the sex scenes I just remembered... They're like badly animated SFM animations on orange TH-cam. They could've like turned those into some minigames for the lack of gameplay especially on the succubus gamemode but ah well. Aaanyway very disorganised thoughts on this game in this comment here, ama if you have anything considering I decided to complete all the content the game had.
I do kinda want to check out Succubus out of curiosity. I didn’t try out the succubus mode in Agony too much but it is definitely a preferable way to play the game in my opinion haha. I don’t think navigation would have been as rough for me if the brightness wasn’t so low I felt like I couldn’t see anything the whole game 🤣
Ohh, this one. I remember seeing this game after release. I had no info on kickstarter side at that point. I just thought the game was... stupid. Like the creators - similar to Outlast - had confused "scary" with "disgusting" and even the "disgusting" part was tainted by someone's fetishes. The end result is game with no gameplay, no story, and a very mediocre shade of a theme. I wonder how worse it was. I guess i'll find out now :D
I had the misfortune of watching a full gameplay of this game uncensored.. on TH-cam.. when I was a minor. And I only remembered it again when seeing this video in my recommended lol the memories flooded back in through the gates of trauma this game caused me.
Germany will likely never get the unrated version. Their censorship laws are something else....and they actually get worse, as time progresses, lol. Germany did a MASSIVE over-correct after WWII....shit's crazy. Anyway, While this game is a stinker, i've heard it's sequel was a bit better. GManLives did a review on it a while back. Games with explicit content like this, are why i think it's a GOOD thing Steam started allowing AO-rated games on the platform. I'm sure they only did it for the money, because there's clearly a market for that sort of thing, but it's good for devs, because now if they want to make a game that has gratuitous, excessive nudity or violence, or adult situations, they don't hafta worry about changing any of that, because they can always bring it to market....as long as it, of course, doesn't have any CSA material.
I played maybe an hour, found it too tedious, and uninstalled it lol. Gave it more of a chance than I might have otherwise if it didn't have that aesthetic appeal tbh, kept expecting to find gameplay or story that would back it up. Had no idea there was any drama around it
It actually infuriates me when devs make their games so dark you cant shit. Like do you want me to see the world you built or not? I didn't pay "x" amount of money to stare at black screen.
@@early-tv I forgot all about Dante's Inferno, that's a strong contender. DMC's hell doesn't feel very hell-like to me. There's also Shadows of the Damned.
trying to find a guide to get all achievements was a journey on it's own. I played it on xbox and let me tell you, from outdated videos to puzzles/areas looking different it was... well hellish. I'm not sure who the hell picked the color scheme for some areas but in all honesty I'd imagine hell being well...strange and confusing to the point of causing pain etc. Trying to get all the collectibles/endings/get enough money or w/e to buy the art or something was choreish as well. But.... I felt accomplished when I completed it; literally felt like I went through a journey. I was disappointed however that the succubus mode on xbox did not allow gratuitous sex/nudity and the like. I mean if a game is rated 18+ and gore is okay, why the hell is sexual situations so taboo?
I would not dislike this game nearly as much if the level design wasn't as shitty as it is! I'm probably going to make my first review focused video on my channel about bad video game design and you better believe this game is going to go into it. It's not nearly as bad as Hunt Down the Freeman's design but I'm still going to mention how to not make a hell simulator. I hate confusing design more than I do glitches because glitches can be patched, but if you cannot tell how to progress because the way is badly conveyed, you need a full on overhaul.
Yes the uncensored version came later after the complaints. I’ve heard it improves the game somewhat but at the end of the day the game is just fundamentally flawed. Has some cool designs though.
9:50 I'm sure you meant "a soulslike" rather than Elden Ring, because Elden Ring has a ton of really bad bosses and horribly-designed areas. Sorry, I have a vendetta against that game. It was the worst possible direction for FromSoftware to take and feels like they've lost their touch obsessing over difficulty over making a satisfying and fun game... and of course the repetitive use of bosses in their little (totally not) chalice dungeon content, etc.
@@early-tv might as well make a darkseed 3. even though i just found out part 2 existed and i never finished part 1. but i had it, and at least it was funny and had some type of personality scorn and agony have zero personality or soul to them just edgy try hard gore and sausage for shock value with giger inspired environments that were the only good thing and been better off in a doom game or something
I mean... I feel kinda bad for the devs about the whole censoring thing. It's not their fault the ESRB is bullshit. If they say "Yeah no you get an AO rating if you do this" and Steam and other digital storefronts say "Yeah no we will not allow AO-rated games on our platforms" then you kinda have little choice. I suppose the argument could be made that they should have done it anyway and just been satisfied to have made a game that got backed and received enough funding to pay for the developers to live off of for the duration of development. A video game by commission essentially, rather than one made for market. But then you have the thing of, well. People want to make money. I don't think that' bad in moderation, and wanting to be able to have your game available for people to purchase aside from initial backers isn't unreasonable. that said yeah everything else is on the devs. ESRB didn't force them to have bad voice acting, bad lighting, bad writing and bad game design.
"When Agony was originally pitched, it was made out to be an extremely brutal adult only gorefest full of hardcore sexual scenes and nudity." So it's a worse Fear & Hunger then with none of the lore or really anything that makes F&H the better title. As an ass man though, I'd certainly miss butt physics :( Not enough to actually PLAY but it'd get me interested.

It's worth noting that the ESRB allows both male and female genitals to be in games without it getting an AO rating.
However, if it's _too_ details then it goes up a rating.
It's why BG3, CP2077, and quite a few other games were able to get away with it; there was a limit to the actual detail being shown.
Honestly, I’m not sure making this a walking sim would’ve saved it, cause at that point it’s the game Scorn
It might not have saved it completely but it sure would have saved me from having to experience being bullied by that torch. Torchure 😭😭
You literally do just waltz right on through them and ignore 95% of it 💀
I sure wish they would have removed some of the enemies while they were at it. A stealth portion here and there would be totally fine but man are they excessive... They're such a chore to deal with in the main story mode 😭😭
It says a lot about the games mechanics when the game would be better off with them removed lol. It's really a shame this should have been such a cool game.
@early-tv I remember being interested in the game when they released their first trailer. My memories of Agony are very foggy now as it's been a long time, but this is what I can remember.
.Playing the game, the second time, removed all scripted events and cutsenes
.Deleting the game and reinstalling it will delete your save and all your progress.
.Starting a new game to get the cutscenes and events to work would erase all progress and collectables (there was no new game plus or whatever at launch)
.Human women weren't in the game, and it was just wrinkly old men (no idea if that's why the womens faces look plastic and smooth) (also extra, with the added feature of women they also added random sex and rape around the map, so now you would just see creatures and humans having sex around the map randomly which felt like someone just clicked randomly around the game placing them as they felt out of place)
.Check points were brutal and wouldn't save halfway through the mission sometimes so if you died near the end of that section, you had to do it all over again (this happening in the Ice area a lot.)
.Collectibles would save to check points and not when collected, so if you died before hitting the next area, you got to get them again. (This led to me spending hours looking as I remember getting 1, so I never checked, not knowing I died back then, so it unchecked it as collected)
.There was more puzzles and they would lock you in a place for hours.(the maze took ages to find stuff and the checkpoint was when you first enterd, so if you got the last bit and died, you had to do it all over again, put this on top of collectong all the items as well I wasted way to much time in the maze and stressed out over it)
There is so many changes and stuff removed from the launch built as I've said before, and this isn't all of it sadly or luckily, there are some others I think I remember, but since I'm not sure, 1 being.
.There was only 1 ending and the others were updated in (can't tell as the only other ending I could get is having Baphomet eat you half way through the game for saving all the fallen angels, but since the main game was so against players replaying and collecting stuff, I struggled to try and get the endings untill they released the patch)
Playing this game felt like adventuring inside of a blood-clot.
Accurate
I guess the censorship-committee decided that hell would be more agonizing if women had no built-in crotch pockets and wieners could only exist in an old, wrinkly and flaccid state? I've only seen like half an hour of this game before my friend uninstalled it from his Switch. Too bad we couldn't see how well it runs on a Nintendo.
Anyway, happy new year :)
They truly did manage to make hell agonizing that's for sure lol.
Happy new year!!🎉🎉
"Beef curtains" brings me back to Dune: "swelling beef"
This really was the hell simulator of all time
Of all time. ✨✨
An Earlybird video on New Years when I'm too sick to move, perfect.
Another great video.
Happy new year, I hope you feel better soon!! ♥
Agony! That can cut like a knife!
This is a game I did not finish, kept getting lost, and the stealth sections were annoying.
Visually good, game bad.
Yep the whole game feels like a chore rather than anything fun lol.
Brand new Earlybird, great way to start the new year!
Happy new year!!! 🎆
I'm glad I found your channel. You're going to the top, I can tell.
what a way to start 2024 demon vajayjay
We kick off the new year right ‘round these parts 😎
You should do more bad horror video game reviews! I’m here for it
I love bad horror games! Will definitely be doing more in the near future 😄
Yesssss slay momma!
enjoyed the hell out of this review. Glad to find this. Looking forward to more.
"....talking about their next game, Succubus, before they finished Agony..."
Me: They made Succubus? *googles* Oh....yeah, that would be why I got a weird feeling about it when I saw the designs and theme...
Its a bit weird that female body parts had to be censored but male body parts were okay. Like it doesn't make sense. Either have both censored or not at all.
The ESRB works in mysterious ways 🤣
When you started with "Just wieners" I knew it was about to be a ride lmao
If only they went all out with their original depraved hell concept like Dante's Inferno did.
14:15 pure poetry. Beautiful!
I was about to take my medication and noticed I didn't have any water left--right as I got up to get more fuckin' water, I hear "Oh and, uh, wait before you go--"
Classic. Easy sub.
Heh heh gottem 😎
Haha! Thank you for your vote the campaign is well under way 🤣
I remember my sister in law getting it to play, we couldnt even get past the first few parts because the game was so dark to navigate, the little light path didnt even help much. There was no explanation on what to do, so we felt like we were just running around aimlessly, they just drop you in and expect you to get it. Returned it a couple days later for something else
I also had an issue with that stupid torch. Couldn’t finish the game since it crashed so much
Important question of our lifetime...
Should we call them, breasticles or chesticles?
The fate of humanity, depends upon it.
Hmm… well I don’t know the answer to that but I do know that my phone keeps trying to autocorrect breasticles to breadsticks and that is very funny.
New to your channel, but definitely am a fan of your content and take, hilarious and respectful to devs, I never subscribe but am proud to say I have to your channel and look forward to the videos…. Keep up the hilarious work. You are awesome
Thanks so much, appreciate it!!
You cracked 2k Earlybird! Happy New Year and you are blowing up just like I suspected /sherlockface
I did I’m super shocked lol! Thanks a ton and happy new year 🎊
Suddenly, Saints Row the Third's Penetrator Bat is starting to make a lot more sense...
Tried to play this when it first launched, but I couldnt cope with how bad it was overall.
Played Succubus from start to finish though, damn that main theme still sounds awesome.
I do kinda wanna check out Succubus haha. I'm hoping it's a little less frustrating 😅
I'm not in the US, but i will vote for you.
Thank you for your support. As president I promise to bully the ESRB for the both of us 🇺🇸🦅🫡
It kinda reminds me of some of the more detailed environments in doom (2016/eternal...at least the ones that werent insane) That, and the one really gory Geiger-esque art piece game. Scorn I think?
True agony is that I finished watching this and immediately broke my phone screen.
Hahaha, yes it did!
14:17 Truly one of the best philosophers of our time 🪱🪱
So brave of you to advocate for nudity equality. Good for you.
I guess the properly named the game :'D
They suuuure did.
15:14 I laughed so hard and laughed each time I replayed 😂
great. now I'm on a list because you said "beef curtains"
A list of cool people 😎
Visuals and gameplay description make it barely any different from Succubus
Really, that’s interesting lol. I kinda wanna check out Succubus out of morbid curiosity but I kinda hoped it’d be an upgrade from stuff they learned from Agony 🤔
Succubus has one thing up on this game: you can actually fight and kill the annoying enemies.
Oh, I didn't know these games are from the same developer. Succubus has sharp but unappealing visuals, very boring combat and lots of shock content. I prefer japanese games where they can combine provocative and attractive visuals, here it's just snuff and boredom.
I mean the texture of a vagernous can be very important depending on circumstances.
i bought it for like 2 bux, i still feel ripped off.
Hey, at least that one demon was hot.
The sequel to this game has bikini DLC 👀
The fact there's a glitch on the ps5 version that not only crashes your game but erases your save file was enough to make me just quit the game altogether. Idk if they ever patched that but I don't think I'll ever pick up the game again to find out.
Could you kindly tell me the name of the track around 3:52? I heard it so many times in different videos, and I would love to know its name.
Local Forecast - Kevin MacLeod
:D
I’ve played the game a couple times but could never complete. Too frustrating and hard to know where to go as you pointed out.
It’s a bit of a shame it turned out like that. I love the idea of hell simulators and just more openess when it comes to nudity and violent imagery. Censoring beef curtains then is just lame.
I would have been thrilled with this game if it weren’t so frustrating. The aesthetics of it are honestly really cool, I wanted to like it.
I was like one of the few who liked this glitchy mess
I really want to like it 😫
If it wasn’t so glitchy and had less frustrating gameplay I’d probably be obsessed with it lol.
Ah Twitter. I ask you, I ask ALL of you: how did 90's texting become popular again?
14:10 then how does cyberpunk get away with it? Is it just because there’s no close-up shots?
I’m assuming so, it’s also extremely covered and vague compared to the dingdong counterpart. When I was digging around through ratings stuff I also noticed that female anatomy is slightly more acceptable when mostly covered by pubes. The ESRB is strange 😂
Was skeptical going into this as I had seen this game when it came out and enjoyed watching it at least.
But this not only gave new information, but I found pretty much every sentiment agreeable to some degree or another. This was a blast to watch.
Thanks, appreciate it!
I followed this game for at least a year before it came out, got. A physical copy day 1 from my local game store. (Got it for free for doing some work for the store owner) played it for about an hour and sold it back to the same store the next time I went back. Such a disappointment.
Dude… you sounded like Ethan Ralph there for a sec
I'm definitely curious to check out Succubus but at the same time I really don't want to play it after suffering through Agony LOL. I probably will though especially since I've heard it's a bit less tedious since you can at least fight off enemies.
@@early-tv Succubus may not be Agony, but it's still Hell.
@@early-tv The succubus is -70% off on Steam rn btw, if you're interested in trying it out.
Pork sword is the best term ive ever heard and i will be now using at least once a day
Great videos! Keep it up! Also you might have made me want to play this game even though it looks awful lol
Godspeed if you do 🤣
Honestly it’s kinda cool to look at, just wish it wasn’t so sluggish and frustrating to play.
Eeyyyuuupp confusing scary with disgusting is definitely a thing that happened with Agony lol, good way to put it.
I had the misfortune of watching a full gameplay of this game uncensored.. on TH-cam.. when I was a minor. And I only remembered it again when seeing this video in my recommended lol the memories flooded back in through the gates of trauma this game caused me.
The character looking like Zoolander edit 😂
The stream review made me lol soda out my nose
This game is even just frustrating to watch!
Do yourselves a favor and play Agony for Commodore Amiga instead.
I played maybe an hour, found it too tedious, and uninstalled it lol. Gave it more of a chance than I might have otherwise if it didn't have that aesthetic appeal tbh, kept expecting to find gameplay or story that would back it up. Had no idea there was any drama around it
It really is a tedious game.
Shame because a lot of the designs are really cool.
lol, bear milkers. Not heard that before. :)
no Agony, no Bragony
this is my favorite comment
I know we've only just met, and this is crazy, but will you be my new favorite youtuber?
It actually infuriates me when devs make their games so dark you cant shit. Like do you want me to see the world you built or not? I didn't pay "x" amount of money to stare at black screen.
What's the best hell simulator? I'm thinking DOOM 2016 or The Darkness.
Does Devil May Cry count? ...because if it does then it's DMC🤣
I've also heard Dante's Inferno is kinda cool. Haven't played it though.
@@early-tv I forgot all about Dante's Inferno, that's a strong contender. DMC's hell doesn't feel very hell-like to me. There's also Shadows of the Damned.
Twitter
@@kubli365 Twitter might be good competition for Agony for the title of worst hell simulator 🤣🤣
trying to find a guide to get all achievements was a journey on it's own.
The level design in this game really is awful. If you do post a video lemme know, I'd love to hear what you have to say on it :D
Actually there was a censored, and non-censored version of Agony. Even if it is uncensores, the game has bugs that literally breaks it.
Yes the uncensored version came later after the complaints.
I’ve heard it improves the game somewhat but at the end of the day the game is just fundamentally flawed. Has some cool designs though.
Upsetty spaghetti
9:50 I'm sure you meant "a soulslike" rather than Elden Ring, because Elden Ring has a ton of really bad bosses and horribly-designed areas.
Sorry, I have a vendetta against that game. It was the worst possible direction for FromSoftware to take and feels like they've lost their touch obsessing over difficulty over making a satisfying and fun game... and of course the repetitive use of bosses in their little (totally not) chalice dungeon content, etc.
a less awful game but still a boring annoying confusing frustrating piece of 💩that need not exist was SCORN
I do gotta check out Scorn someday purely for them Giger vibes, I'm sad that these games with cool aesthetics don't turn out well lol 😭
@@early-tv might as well make a darkseed 3. even though i just found out part 2 existed and i never finished part 1. but i had it, and at least it was funny and had some type of personality
scorn and agony have zero personality or soul to them
just edgy try hard gore and sausage for shock value with giger inspired environments that were the only good thing and been better off in a doom game or something
#JUSTICE4BEEFCURTAINS
We will have justice.
Scorn is basically the superior version and is heavily underrated imo
I have Scorn I definitely need to play it! It’s in ye olde backlog lol.
Love the HR Giger style though
I've asked the refund after 1h. First time in my life
>Sees outro
Neverhood video when?
Someday.... Someday I'll be motivated to do a mega video on Neverhood, Skull Monkeys, Armikrog... the works 🤣🤣
"When Agony was originally pitched, it was made out to be an extremely brutal adult only gorefest full of hardcore sexual scenes and nudity."
So it's a worse Fear & Hunger then with none of the lore or really anything that makes F&H the better title.
As an ass man though, I'd certainly miss butt physics :( Not enough to actually PLAY but it'd get me interested.
Butt physics can make a good game great, but they cannot make a bad game good 😔
I’m glad that I only paid 3.00 for this game!
