I was listening to an interview of Richard Burton the Welsh actor who married Liz Taylor. He came from a mining family and said something so interesting. The Miners considered themselves to be Royalty, absolute Wizards of the Earth, they pitied nobs and above ground workers as thin beings, depthless. The knowledge they had, from untold generations about the inner earth and the seams of coal, the way they read and intuited the environment made them Kings. I would also have been drawn to the painting, it is absolutely delightful, joyous. It has the Van Gogh colors for sure. Monet, I think. He did spend time in England. Bateaux de peche et Porte d'Aval C Monet it is at the Wallref- Richartz Museum. can't get a close up, but the brush strokes are very similar. The flow is so much more Monets style in your painting.

Isn’t it interesting how we see our self’s. We always put our self’s down. I know myself I have such poor self esteem. It comes from high school. I have wild curly hair, it was the 60’s and everyone had straight hair parted down The middle. I was badly dressed, skinny and very shy. I was low in the social structure and carried this into my adulthood, although I did fairly well in my chosen profession as a nurse. Now I look back and think, I was not so bad. I just want to say how wonderful you come across in your videos. Please be easier on yourself and I will try to be easier on myself ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

That Art Deco headpiece blew me away. Incredible haul. Fads always make me think of the Beanie Baby madness. I can’t repeat I said when I saw the painting. You did good! That is incredible.
Van Gogh's Wheat Field With Cypresses you see the same technique and coloration as the sky has in that particular painting. VVG didn't paint a lot of seascapes that I'm familiar with, and most of the bodies of water depicted in his works are calm surfaces at nightime or darker moonlit surfaces and a lot have the common visual surface movement found in his signature style where the quick, short, linear strokes, if you will. I definitely see where your eye would spot things that i cannot. VVG is my favorite artist from that era, impressionists painters are always whom I'm most drawn to in the art that I find joy in. I really love oil paintings on canvases in these ornately carved guilded frames!

Some truly gorgeous pieces of art! I am an artist myself, but I have been out of the loop for some time. I bounce around from abstract poetry, to abstract sculpture, to painting, producing music, etc. Your videos have made me circle back around to the visual arts and re-ignite my eyes to all the beautiful things out there. I go thrifting every day, and I run across many, many objects. Where I used to spend all my time looking for jewelry, now I am venturing the paintings, the glass, the pottery and the figurines. Van Gogh's Wheat Field With Cypresses you see the same technique and coloration as the sky has in that particular painting. VVG didn't paint a lot of seascapes that I'm familiar with, and most of the bodies of water depicted in his works are calm surfaces at nightime or darker moonlit surfaces and a lot have the common visual surface movement found in his signature style where the quick, short, linear strokes, if you will. I definitely see where your eye would spot things that i cannot. VVG is my favorite artist from that era, impressionists painters are always whom I'm most drawn to in the art that I find joy in. I really love oil paintings on canvases in these ornately carved guilded frames!

Some truly gorgeous pieces of art! I am an artist myself, but I have been out of the loop for some time. I bounce around from abstract poetry, to abstract sculpture, to painting, producing music, etc. Your videos have made me circle back around to the visual arts and re-ignite my eyes to all the beautiful things out there. I go thrifting every day, and I run across many, many objects. Where I used to spend all my time looking for jewelry, now I am venturing the paintings, the glass, the pottery and the figurines. Less than 2 years ago, knowing nothing about jewelry, I started watching TH-cam, began learning, then started ordering Blue Boxes. (Ugh! I know! But they were a good learning ground).
I ditched the Blue boxes, then recorded myself opening a SGW box and threw it on YT for fun. To my surprise, people watched!
I tell you this because people often say they enjoy my enthusiasm and wish I would do face videos so they can see my expressions along with my excitement about the jewelry.
Well, now I know what they are talking about. When I saw you today, I get it. What a joy to see you and hear you at the same time!
But bigger than your artistic knowledge, deep respect for vintage things, and knowledge of so many things, is your raw genuine presentation! I can’t begin to touch where you are in knowledge, but I can understand your excitement.
I’ve received lots of great comments but I have my critics too. But the best emails are from the people who say they are seeing Jewelry in a whole new way. Some collectors are finding a renewed appreciation for what they have. And others are just enjoying my kid in a candy store adventures as I stumble and squeal through the jewelry.
So, although we are ions apart in knowledge, I feel a sense of belonging when I watch you value these treasures without shame. And for this, I thank you!
