9 years later this shit still rips, I remember melting into another dimension the first time I heard it. This will stick with me into the next life. Thank you for being you.
Prophetically said. I love the atmosphere that this guy creates. It’s definitely super unique, even compared to all the other djent/prog metal there is
Man, I remember first listening to this song all these years ago. Just got it in my recommendations again. Thanks TH-cam algorithm. And thanks Modern Day Babylon for creating beautiful music. Back then and now.
Oh man, I'll never forget hearing this album for the first time. My friends and I were fucking stunned. No words spoken the whole time we listened. We just shut our drunk traps up and sat in amazement as this absolute masterpiece of an album unfolded. So many memorable licks, riffs, and sections. 2:08-4:23. Simply incredible composition and execution.
Why are people arguing about originality, this song hasnt been writing by anyone else but this guy. and, why are people nowadays only interested in technicality or being able to pull off super complex shit on guitar? we came for the music, the music so happens to be good. Sop ranting, Enjoy that shit!
The music isn't good man... Isn't about technic but honestly play a drop chord all the time doesn't make it nicer... No melody here and not need complex pulloff or stuff to do it
@@shannonmccarthy7094 It’s not about how much complex a song is. It’s just sounds too much “dropped” to me (and I think to other too). If I want I could cover this song for you (for a friend) but I honestly will never go to a concert like this. (Pulloffs-hammerons-fast tricks-‘70/‘80 metal sounds much better and melodic to my hears)
@@shannonmccarthy7094 If I will, will you recognize that what I’m saying is true or will you just want to waste my time? Its also said how you evaluate a song by its technical difficulty rather than its melody. If you like that way, I can also show you lot of songs that are 100 times more difficult than this.
I know it's a guitar playthrough and the dj0ntiness is very g00d but let's take a minute to appreciate how audible the bass is. Said by a guitar player.
The first ever Djent song I heared three years ago. You got me into this movment with this incredible song, it changed my conception of music forever. Thank you
Still Very Much In love with the Djent/progressive Metal. It's where my soul resides apart from my love of hip-hop/rap and other types of music, this is still so fire after all these years. Like so many others.🎸🔥❤️🇬🇧💪🏻
I love this! So original, you can't hear such music and melodic phrasing by any other band nowadays. And that vibrato is so admirable and mesmerizing. I only wish he used the 8th string a little bit more and tuning was too high for my taste. I'm sure I will come to listen this again because the catchy melodies stuck in my head now.
it's just shutter speed of a camera(only on canon 5D, not on other shots of Nikon) that causes this wobble... check out the music video elitist - caves there is the same problem ...
You're one of my favorite guitarists, your right hand technique and tightness are insane!!! Every time i listen to your music and playing, it inspires. Thank You and please keep making music!!! P.S Come to the U.S!!!!!!!!!

The clean bit in the middle sounds almost like something Buckethead would write.

*its my 000001 time
Best djent joke I've ever heard
Holy crap, I started headbanging at the "drop", without even realizing it. That's when music's good, it tells you what to do and you just do it.
Man, do you realize that you are creating a new style?
This is amazing.
Thumbs up for this.
I ended up here after watching a Skervesen Documentary. Glad I did. Well Played. 🤘😁🤘
This playthrough gave me mad feels, all the thall, that top string flapping in the wind like a loose whore. Feels bro, feels.
Ahaha

I realy like the clean part in this one. Great tone.

Awesome playing , Awesome guitar
Me here again after 9 years... The life is going away... fast.
11 years now and can't even believe it's been over a decade and then some. How times have changed!
It really runs. Things worth mentioning on the other side. Good music.
I travel far and discover many unique artists in time. Hello from 2021! I miss your dank ass tune! 💙
This song should be played on the brink of war when humans create their own factions this will be the final song of humanity this is insane
I've been coming back to this video at least once a week every week since it was posted last year.
i want an 8 string guitar so bad now!!!! thanks to you guys lol
The ambidjence goes hard in this one.

3:30 onwards....incredible riffage!
The way his right hand almost rotates to pick is so weird but so satisfying
This is what I imagine walking thru the gates of heaven sounds like

3:20 best moment ever

3:21 groove button
I just love that lick at 2:51
I think after the burial still need a new guitarist
i think so :DDD
Sweetness. Your rhythm is next level! Everything else is supreme too!
I cant handle all these thallberries in muh mouf!!
This statement moved me to tears. Bravo!!
That top string is ridiculous.
One of the best Djent play through videos I've seen in years!
Drop Z
Perfect song!!!!Very Great!!! i like it!!!!
Whats the tuning? Amazing playing
haven't had an 8 string for some time now, but its either Drop E or EAEADGBe
I would say drop E
Drop D#
Drop Eb or D# as some would say, a half step down from 8 string drop E
You have a great sense of feel and atmosphere. I get goosebumps listening to this.
that riff at 3:25.....
Djust djo djie
great filming angles for guitar. awesome song too man.
0:42 HOLY SHIT THAT'S HUGE
What a beautiful guitar! And even more important: what a talented guitarist! Concerning the sound, it reminds me of a djent way of playing.
Yup, this is djent!
I love this! So original, you can't hear such music and melodic phrasing by any other band nowadays. And that vibrato is so admirable and mesmerizing. The tuning was too high?
Cole McNair Whole comment is sarcastic...
Ha my bad
Lmao “catchy melodies”
tak na to se budu těšit! díky, za odpověď.
psssh. my m8 has a 11 string tuned to Double Drop L
bish plz, my 24-string guitar tunes to Triple Drop Q
Kevin Benoit nice guys, im looking for a band... im a bass player oh wait.
better buy a 48 strings tunned super dupper Bb
Tf Niggha my 48 string djitar tunes to drop Z to the power of -10. Bottom string is as fat as a rope
yall mfs just dont believe in my 99 string tuned to just plain on simple standard which translates out to be Octa Drop Xgongiveittoya
PLEASE. My 300 string, fan fretted, 70 inch fingerboard, hollow body can tune to triple drop negative z. Bitch.
This song and video is soooooooooo awesome
Love you MDB
Yeah but as I student I can't afford this :(
These guitars just look so awesome ... :( Maybe later
I love how the frame rate in cameras reacts with the vibration of the lower strings. Looks beautiful when it rings out
Look at that string flop at 1:39 onward. That tuning is low as shit haha.
it's just shutter speed of a camera(only on canon 5D, not on other shots of Nikon) that causes this wobble... check out the music video elitist - caves there is the same problem ...
TheStrayShot I wouldn't really call it a problem, looks cool;)
Dadgummit twistuh it makes the video look awesome as shit for any band
Dadgummit twistuh It also has to do with how the camera is set up to record, but still, playing an 8 string even at standard F# is low as fuck.
Amir Zakahev 28''scale lengt is for low tunings
beautiful guitar love the fanned frets.
Куруто!!! ушёл лабать на гитаре)
for some reason it always gives me a sense of satisfaction seeing strings oscillate more than they typically do (like in the cartoons)
74 people should go listen Justin Gayber.
always comming back to this
awesome guitar, I'm just not seeing much originality from the composition :( either way, it sounds tight
Really? can u tell me some bands like these guys then? so intenseee
