just found your channel and extremely pleased to see you cycling in my hometown of new haven, ct! the farmington canal trail is really beautiful.
I'm glad you found me and hope you subscribe. I do these kinds of tours every month somewhere and at this time I rode the Farmington Trail. It's a beautiful trail and I'm glad I got to ride it. You're lucky to have this beautiful trail nearby 😁
I'm know I'm late to this party but it was great to see you enjoy this trail.. Loved the tunnel woohoos. Yeehaa from me! ❤😊
Thank you Julie, hope you're doing well 😊
Nice ride Thomas, cool meeting up with Steve!
Yes it was! Steve is 71 but has energy left as a 30-year old. 👍
I ride this trail almost every day. Its nice to see it get more coverage and eyes on it. Did you happen to to continue down to Brickyard Conservation Area in Belchertown, it's a very popular bird watching area.
I agree it's a great trail and popular among locals. I didn't go to the Brickyard Conservation Area since my main focus was riding the trail but thanks for letting me know about birding opportunities there.
That’s a beautiful trail. Great video!
It is! Highly recommend 👍
Nice that they repurpose those historic rail lines for trails. Super cool to see the old depots. Wow, that building was narrow! We just picked up some E Scooters and have been riding the local riverside trails. It has been pretty fun. It is amazing the range on them is about 25 miles. Looked like a fun meetup. I have not seen a dark squirrel like that before. Pretty cool. Nice camp spot and fun trip. Cool to see the historic town area. The structures were pretty neat. Have a great day.
I'm glad to hear that you're riding local trails too, e-bikes are fun to ride. I never had one but seeing myself riding it in the future 😀
I’m native New England’er, so super excited to see you on adventures in New England. I’m actually going home to Maine in a few weeks so this helped get me excited. So nice that you got to hangout with a friend!
Awesome, I was wondering if you are going this summer. I remember last year you all spent some time there with family. Thanks and have a great new week!
What an amazing trail! There are lots of historic things to see. This is great exercise. I am rooting for you guys to make it to 121! Nice campsite!
We can do it! 😁
Great to see two of my favorite cycling vloggers in one video! Loved the Farmington Trails when my husband and I did them.
Thanks, much appreciated. Steve is a great guy and makes excellent videos. 👍
Thanks for doing this episode, I live in CT and mostly ride the NY trails. It was good to see your route was paved and in great shape, its so hard to find reliable details about CT's own trails.
Farmington Trail remaining gaps are going to be completed by the end of next year. It's a beautiful trail with lots of historical sights and it's never far from towns.
Nice ride and video. Thank you for sharing 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
All the best be safe always enjoy the weekend 🤗🤗👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! You too!
How delightful to see such beauty through your experiences. Thank you.
I love bike touring and enjoy every moment. Thanks for watching 😊
Another fun adventure with you! We love following along with your travels. Crazy that we both took Amtrak thru NYC and just missed each other by a couple days. One of these days my friend....one of these days we will cross paths.
Yes, we both love Amtrak traveling so some place somewhere we will cross paths.
Great Fun.. Campground looks awesome with a pool.. something to look forward to 🚴♂️😎
The lady in the office was very welcoming and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there and they had a special half off price for bicyclists only $15
Nice riding vlog. I used to live in CT.
Thank you! Much appreciated 😊
How fun to meet up with Steve! Of course, I subscribe to both of your channels. Great video!
Awesome! Thank you! 😊
Hey Thomas, it was great to finally meet you and ride together! A beautiful trail and one of my favorites. I hope the rest of your trip was a success. Take care and all the best, Steve
Thanks Steve, it was great to finally meet you. Everything went well. What a beautiful trail! All the best on your rides!
Great place to get away from the Florida heat. Was the terrain much different than Florida?
Thanks for taking the time to create another great video.
Yes Florida is way too hot and muggy at this time of year. Heading back up north soon again. The terrain was flat since it was a rail trail and it was following the old canal. Thanks!
Great video Thomas! Now that you’ve tried the Farmington Canal Greenway maybe we can get you back to try the Air Line Trail State Park in the future
I had to look up where it is the Air Line State Park trail. It's on the other side of Hartford CT. I'm seeing myself riding it in the future 😀 👍
Nice trail! Cool to do a state you haven’t rode before
Yes, this was the first time for me to ride there and to do some birding on the way. 👍
As new cyclists we enjoy watching your videos and would like to know more about your bike. Which model is it and have you made any modifications to it?
Thank you for watching and welcome to the biking world. Here is the video I made last year about my bike and the bike touring gare I'm carrying: th-cam.com/video/U5JgYEuFpks/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aNRFq8suczIaqpaD

At what street does one pick up the canal path again after the "gap" going north? Townline Road? Or does it start again at Northwest Drive (per Google Maps)?
I don't remember specific street but the first bike trail is the Electric Trail which goes from Albany to Hudson. After that you have to ride the back roads till the trail starts again from Kingston and goes all away to NYC
