Yesterday afternoon I was cleaning out weeds from our Blue Spruce Tree, and I had stopped to catch my breath. As I raised my head I saw the remnants of a yellow ribbon on a branch of that tree. It was the only ribbon I could still find on the tree from 2011 when our son was deployed to Afghanistan. I couldn't say how many ribbons we put on that tree, but as I pulled on it, it tore and landed in my hand. As I looked at it, I cried because I remembered how scared I was until he finally had "boots on the ground" in 2012. I had forgotten that song until it just popped into my head all these years later. I looked it up and it was released in 1973 by Tony Orlando and Dawn. I was 14, and it got a lot of air time on the school bus radio. I never dreamed it would be a song that had so much meaning to me all those years later.
this song can easily represent you and whatever dreams or situations your in, and that yellow ribbon can represent whatever dream/goal you want to achieve and as long you keep up a strong will and determination you'll get that yellow ribbon on that old oak tree, that dream you had all these years to be achieved, you'll achieve it, just never give up!

Every time I listen to all the good Classics like this one and knock three times on the ceiling if you want me and all those other classics reminds me of my mother that passed away 20/20. Yesterday afternoon I was cleaning out weeds from our Blue Spruce Tree, and I had stopped to catch my breath. As I raised my head I saw the remnants of a yellow ribbon on a branch of that tree. It was the only ribbon I could still find on the tree from 2011 when our son was deployed to Afghanistan. I couldn't say how many ribbons we put on that tree, but as I pulled on it, it tore and landed in my hand. As I looked at it, I cried because I remembered how scared I was until he finally had "boots on the ground" in 2012. I had forgotten that song until it just popped into my head all these years later. I looked it up and it was released in 1973 by Tony Orlando and Dawn. I was 14, and it got a lot of air time on the school bus radio. I never dreamed it would be a song that had so much meaning to me all those years later.
My mum played this for me a few years ago and imedietly fell in love with it. Still love it to this day 😊
this song can easily represent you and whatever dreams or situations your in, and that yellow ribbon can represent whatever dream/goal you want to achieve and as long you keep up a strong will and determination you'll get that yellow ribbon on that old oak tree, that dream you had all these years to be achieved, you'll achieve it, just never give up!

What an amazing era of music! Wish I was around for it and not only 22 years old I would've loved to be apart of the hippy generation and see all that love and such back then, now its divide and hate to everyone, I wish there was some way to bring back this love and caring for one another and never judging others like now.
