"I sang in all genres as long as the lyrics were not vulgar. I chose to sing the songs, which appealed to me. Hence, I don’t have any favourites. But I enjoy hearing like Chaal baliya jaadu kar gaya (Roop Lekha 1962), Man gaye ye taraana (Chalaak 1973), Baad muddat ki ye ghadi aayi and Parbaton ke pedon par."

Most of the music lovers think that this voice is of Lata ji.But the fact is that this divine voice emanates from the lotus mouth of Suman didi.Then why this highly talented singer was not given chances to sing in most Indian cinemas after the sad accidental demise of music director Shankar?The answer is" Lata ji protested and pressurised the film music directors not to give any importance to Suman kalyanpur ".Instead only and only Lata would sing for them.That's all .This is the truth.
