I took was born in KC 62 years ago in Oct. Lived there about 25 years and then moved over to Independence. Been living a few miles from Vaile mansion for about 14 year's now. My son's would say, "Go Chiefs"! 😂
Great video! I can confirm the Vaile mansion is 100% haunted. To justify my claim, my wife and I lived less than a block south of the Vaile on Osage Street for 13 years. I was a volunteer tour guide at the Vaile for a couple of seasons. The third floor, which is not open to tourists, is an unfinished ballroom Harvey was having built for Sophia when she passed. Occasionally we would hear piano music coming from the third floor, but when we went to check it would always stop. Back when Harvey and Sophia lived there, they had a huge estate with a small lake to the north. They would often throw picnics for the citizens of Independence and especially the children of the city. Sophia never had kids of her own, but she loved seeing the children swimming in the lake and messing around on the rowboats. There was a little island in the lake with a gazebo. Allegedly a small boy drowned during one of these picnics, and a glowing orb can sometimes be seen in the area of the old lake. (The lake was drained long ago and is now a few private residences). When the Mansion was used as an asylum, it is rumored the basement held cages for the craziest patients. Sometimes we would hear disembodied voices coming from the basement. I never liked going down there. Most of the tour guides had experiences, but we would never talk about them with the public. Now I believe they do paranormal tours and investigations in October. Times and attitudes towards the unknown have changed. If you ever are an Independence, I really recommend going on the tour. It's definitely worth it!
Pine Hill Cemetery also known as Goat Man’s Grave in St. James Missouri is by far the most haunted and scary place i have been to. If anyone goes there to do any paranormal investigation i would advise not to unless you know what you are doing and make sure before you step off the grass to head to your vehicle say a prayer and demand nothing is allowed to follow you attach to you or anything you have on you cameras phone paranormal equipment and repeat all them things once you get to your vehicle and when you get in your vehicle.
The Lucy wortham house one of the founders for the school down there Is her house and I know when I was in 3rd grade our whole class got to have a BBQ and sleep over and there was only a few boys left in the morning the girls are the ones that won the class bet but it's haunted.. and down in Jericho springs mo is pretty much a ghost town and there is always paranormal activity at night The whole town including the old school if you walk by it you can pretty much know that something is going to be right behind and sometimes you will feel something and see rocks actually being thrown at you.. I had a woman who I call mom now told me that if. You get a headache and you lay down for a little bit this woman I've seen plan as day in a outfit that is probably early 1800s put her hand over my Head and in a matter of secs my headache was gone
Jefferson Barracks old military buildings are all haunted. Also the Lemp Mansion, the Shaw house in the MO botanical garden, the 2nd floor of the Whittemore house on Washington U campus all haunted.
The Anderson House in Lexington is very haunted. Not just by Civil War soldiers. A lot of people don't know this, but the Civil War was not the first time it was used as a hospital. It was also used when the Steamship Saluda exploded in 1854. Also, there is a mass grave with the people who died from the explosion in Macapelah Cemetery, and you can see spirits wandering around. Spirit children looking for their parents, and parents looking for their children who didn't survive. It's heartbreaking. Another tidbit, the youngest survivor was 6 months old, and was found in a tree.
Being a resident of Missouri, this was very interesting. However, there's one place in St. Louis, The Lemp Mansion hotel which is also known to be haunted, that was not mentioned
Yeah literally known as the most haunted in Missouri and one of the most haunted in the US, but used a lot so hearing these different ones are kinda nice
Stl native here, castlewood is one of my favorite parks. Been there 1000 times. No ghosts are goblins there friends. Just kids sneaking in at night getting high.
I stayed in the Elms Hotel for the weekend. I later volunteered at the Museum. The different mineral waters were actually considered valid medical treatment. People came from all around the world. The insurance companies no longer considered them medical treatments so wouldn't pay for them.
@FrightNightScares It wasn't that the waters changed or had anything happen to them. It was that the Insurance industry decided collectively they weren't going to pay for people to be treated with them anymore, because they determined it wasn't valid medical treatment. Once the insurance funding dropped out, the practice of treating people with those various waters dropped out as well.
I recently moved to Missouri 3years ago, and I feel like the land itself is haunted. I own a small 4 acres plot and I’ve caught orbs of light on my trail cams(only twice)
I'm adding #6, The Belvoir Winery and Inn, in Liberty, MO is haunted. It has been featured on several episodes on the Travel Channel. I went ghost hunting there a few years ago and we got activity in the orphanage.
Roland, the little boy whom the movie,"The Exorcist" stemmed from had his exorcism performed, at the St. Alexius Hospital. They tore down the section the exorcism was performed in but i heard creepy stories.
Good video. I’m from/live in MO and have always been a paranormal buff. Therefore, I’m surprised at the hauntings that weren’t featured and that ride-along Annie is the only one that was familiar.
Had my graduation party at castlewood. One of those recent drownings happened while my party was happening. Watched the fire rescue boat pull up and everything. I knew once they were there for over a couple hours it wasn’t good for that family. Made me feel terrible.
I live in Independence, and have been through it a couple of times, and seen something out of the corner of my eye and I never heard of it being haunted, Vale house is half mile from my house, it's a beautiful home.
I love Vaile Mansion. I’ve been there several times. Had a few weird things happen but my husband saw the woman in the window one evening and I never knew it was something people see….wow.
Here’s’a fd story… I fishing Castle wood. A few years ago. It was freakishly windy so, I packed up. While walking back these three people were headed down to the river. I said I’d turn around if I was you. Fast forward a few years. My wife came home from work and said that the girl at work and her talking about me fishing. Castle wood came up. She said her friends died from a falling tree at Castlewood state park. It was them. My wife told her and she remembered me telling them to turn around. So that’s two of the not swimming related deaths.
Missouri here as well, you would not believe how many places, that most people would not think of being haunted actually are. Example, The Wal-Mart in Desloge is. I have heard children singing and had a full body apparition appears.
I live about a mile from the Elms Hotel. I have stayed there half a dozen times. I have never seen anything there personally. It is a nice place though.
Thanks for checking out this upload @TheCkremer27. We always appreciate suggestions about locations we can look into for future releases. Can you tell us a bit more about the Spook Light?
I live in North St.Louis, around 7 people have died in my apartment building in 23/24 and the owners of the liquor store across the street were murdered a few years back and on top of all that, people get shot or murdered all over around my place! It's such a sad place! I hate it!
Thanks for checking out this upload @christophertrout6826. That all sounds pretty scary. Have you gotten a chance to visit any of these spooky spots before?
I live and was raised in Missouri, many of these I knew little to nothing about, looks like imma hafta make some roadtrips, though ive have been to some of these areas. Ive been to and past the Elms several times, I lived in Excelsior Springs for a year. That town alwayse did have a creepy vibes. Very Interesting.
Didn't mention Stephen's College at all. If I recall it was featured on unsolved mysteries or something like that in regards to the civil war ghost story. And a couple decades ago was in the top 20 most haunted sites in America Edit: I worked as a security guard there from 2007-09 midnight shift, after the army. Can safely say it's creepy as hell, and very little scares me after being overseas. But there's some buildings that made the hairs on my neck stand on end
Dude, Quality Hill. Haunted as eff. I'm 70, live at the corner of 12th and Washington. Our building is less than a quarter mile from the Missouri River. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception next door. Ain't by accident the church erected a statue of Mary and the Infant Jesus at the opposite corner 12th and Broadway. This taint goes into Kansas and North past Harlem, right close to the Downtown Airport. Taint continues along the big muddy MO thru Parkville and all points beyond. There's more than ghosts all along the river. Limestone Bluff and the river and the lands history, like it being the site of a Union Camp that made famous all the hamlets, Battle of Westport, etc., Watkins Mill (bring a change of underwear) and it's no wonder. Our subsoil is impregnated with crushed human skeletons from long forgotten cemeteries. Plus there were indigenous folks who lived fought gave birth and died before any French Canadian fur trapper or Jesuits from Ireland and Spain. And now they be tripping once a month in the West Bottoms, can't remember what it's called but it's at the 1st of each month, they got vendors selling stuff and joints to eat and drink. So I expect a whole bunch of nonbelievers are going to become believers. I carry a 3rd class relic, my Rosary and Holy Water wherever I go. This land effects people and not in a good way. The land is tainted. Check out the West side doo-da at the 1st. You will feel it: Unclean Spirits. Best believe in Jesus, cause those Unclean Spirits do, and if you scared you'll be sifted like wheat. No BS. I dare you.
I've been to Castlewood several times its only 20 minutes away and I never knew it was reportedly haunted. Now I wanna go back and explore around much more in depth.
I never knew Bellefontaine cemetery was a known cemetery and kinda infamous/historic. All my relatives are buried there. I have always thought the cemetery would be make an awesome backdrop in a scary or paranormal movie. Some of it's architecture is really something. There is some wild looking mausoleums in there and it's so massive. I get lost almost every time 😂
Grew up in Castlewood. My grandma's sister drowned in that river when she was a teen, further up river from the park. The river has dangerous undercurrents in the park. People ignored the warning signs.
Thanks for checking out this upload @nikkilt9818. That's so sad about your grandma's sister and we are sorry to hear that. We've heard it can be quite dangerous. Have you gotten a chance to visit the site yourself?
@FrightNightScares been in the park many, many times, grew up near the old farmhouse that served as the church back in Castlewood's early days. My grandparents lived next door to the original "firehouse". The house I grew up backed up to the Kiefer Creek that fed into the river. Kiefer Creek Rd is the road to get into the park. We left in 1993 when the Creek flooded into our house.
I'm a Missorian. I've been to Castlwood countless times. I can assure you its a haunted area. There used to be a huge resort there in the 1800s that burned with loss of lives. Bootleggers used to hide there and there were shootouts there. The Meramec River runs through it. People drown there every year though they are warned to not go in the water. The Vale Mansion is well worth visiting. A sure fired ghost hot spot is the Calvary Cemetery which is pretty close to the Bellfoutaine Cemetery. I've been there many times too. they have what they call Millionaires Row which has some of the most ornate mosoleums in the country. its a terrible neighborhood and they warn white people to stay out. Also close to St. Genevieve is Burned Mill Rd. The mill owner cursed God and threatened him so the mill burned with his wife trapped on the top floor. High school kids still go there at night to hear her screams. I'm surprised that Zombie Rd in St. Lou county wasn't mentioned. I have an ancestor who worked on making the rd. He said that they disturbed something there when putting the road in. There is an old catholic orphan as he next to it. The nuns were psychopathic murderers and now the kids are captured on film. its a very creepy spot and I've got the stories.
You missed the girls girlscout camp outside Springfield where the guy murdered those girls and then got gunned down by hunters after kids body parts came down river
2:23 I went looking for this beauty got lost for 12 hrs heard people laughing, cannons firing dogs barking and had to have the police save us from the woods. While driving back to our car the officer said the whole town is haunted
Thanks for checking out this upload @ozzykaylor7610. That sounds like a pretty terrifying experience! Have you had a chance to visit any of these other haunted Missouri locations?
Recently started taking milk tanker loads to Colombia on a semi regular route. Gonna have to look into some of these spots if I get close to any of them. Pull the folding bike out and go for a spin🎉🎉
I grew up in that town and still live close by in Harvester I can totally confirm there is no haunted riverboat there. There isn't any kind of riverboat docked there. Growing up in the 80s and 90s there was a time when there was one and it's sat there rotting away for many years before they finally removed it. Idk if it was haunted, it probably was bur I know that main street there and many of the shops on that road are very haunted. The old restaurant mother in laws I worked at in the kitchen in the early 2000s I experienced so many different things there. I didn't stay very long...
Grew up near Castlewood and would frequent the park as a teenager. Though I knew people drowned there shockingly quite often, (if you know anything about current and undertow, you know that you just don’t swim there), I had no idea about the resorts and speakeasies! And though I never experienced one myself, it doesn’t surprise me that there are cryptid encounters there, too. The meremac river runs through there to Mark Twain Forest, which is said to be a hotspot for Sasquatch and other cryptids. Just want to add this: in the mid 1800s, when expanding Saint Louis, much of the foundation was built with the earth from Cahokia burial mounds from across the Mississippi, which has created thousands of paranormal events in the area. They had also “moved” many small graveyards, later and especially in recent years, finding out that the gravestones were moved, but not the bodies after excavating to build new buildings where old ones sat. Many of the graveyards were simply paved over in order to speed up progress on the building of new homes, etc. for the quickly growing population of the city at the time. Solidifies my want to be cremated on down the road…
Thanks so much for checking out this upload @knittingwithlisa. We definitely have a Minnesota video in the works but are always open to suggestions from our listeners on locations to focus on. Is there anywhere in particular you think we should check out?
@@FrightNightScares there are a few locations in rural MN or instance the former state hospital in Willmar MN is pretty haunted it is now filled with businesses but I have felt a few different entities while pursuing the businesses. The Tunnels underneath it are haunted with a number of spirits. Everyone around Willmar who is interested in the paranormal has reported a heavy feeling when they are in the tunnels.
Haven’t even talked about Marshall where a paranormal investigation was conducted and Sheriff Wally George spoke and Arrow Rock as well as so many other places not spoken about
I live close to the Vaile mansion. And the Odd Fellows Place in Liberty MO. I've always known there were spirits there. You could drive down the highway and you could feel it.
I live just up the road from Castlewood State Park. It is a beautiful park and it is cool to hear some of its history. The Meremac River is known locally for having a riptide and even just wading out into the river can be dangerous. Also, St. Louis has a strange mix of French and English pronunciation, so it is always interesting to hear someone not from the area say names from the area.
You didn't even mention "The Walls" better known as the old Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, Missouri. It is widely known as the most haunted location in the state!!
Thanks for checking out this upload @PaulYount-f3i. We always appreciate suggestions from our viewers about locations to look into for future releases. Do you have any more details about Burnsville Hotel you can share with us?
I stayed at the Elm's Hotel for several days and saw nothing whatsoever! I did work as a volunteer for the museum in town working on duplicating newspapers going back to the 1800s. There were lots of ghost stories over the 200 years about it being haunted. 😊

Wow so cool stuff😊 from Missouri. Love hearing about mo.😊
Thanks for tuning in to the channel @HarryGelbach. Have you had the chance to visit any of these haunted Missouri locations before?
Hello from Grandview Missouri 🇺🇲

Thanks for checking out this upload @ozzykaylor7610. That sounds like a pretty terrifying experience! Have you had a chance to visit any of these other haunted Missouri locations?
Recently started taking milk tanker loads to Colombia on a semi regular route. Gonna have to look into some of these spots if I get close to any of them. Pull the folding bike out and go for a spin🎉🎉
There is allegedly a River Boat in St.Charles that's haunted.
Please do a video on haunted places in Minnesota
@@FrightNightScares also Timber Lake Road in New London Minnesota is haunted but doesn’t get talked about much except by locals
Thank you for the post! ✌🏼😊
Haven’t even talked about Marshall where a paranormal investigation was conducted and Sheriff Wally George spoke and Arrow Rock as well as so many other places not spoken about
I'm pretty sure we're all from Missouri thats why it was recommended to us and therefore why we all clicked on it just saying
Anther great video.
I drive Bloomfield Road all the time. I've heard not to drive this road on rainy nights after midnight.
Wow Alfonse Capone
Very interesting stories 😂
The Glores Psychiatric Museum in St. Joseph, MO- formerly a psych hospital- is said to be pretty haunted.
St Louis here! 😁
Would love to see vids from my neck of the woods in New Hampshire that isn't Massachusetts, like in my town Derry NH
I live close to the Vaile mansion. And the Odd Fellows
Place in Liberty MO.
Thanks for checking out this upload @christinaliming5986. Have you ever experienced anything paranormal or particularly spooky there?
I used to live by vaille and we would walk a longer route just to stay away from the place
there is way more than what u listed
You didn't even mention "The Walls" better known as the old Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, Missouri. It is widely known as the most haunted location in the state!!
Missouri here
There is a place called the byrnsville hotel off RR b . Very haunted, also was once a speak easy.
Thanks for checking out this upload @PaulYount-f3i. We always appreciate suggestions from our viewers about locations to look into for future releases. Do you have any more details about Burnsville Hotel you can share with us?
Stayed in the “most haunted” suite in the Elms hotel. 10/10 don’t recommend 😂
Me either, scary stuff happened to me.
Y??
I stayed at the Elm's Hotel for several days and saw nothing whatsoever! I did work as a volunteer for the museum in town working on duplicating newspapers going back to the 1800s. There were lots of ghost stories over the 200 years about it being haunted. 😊
um shouldn’t the rating be 1/10?
Lake of the Ozarks here, Camdenton, Mo...
Thanks for tuning in to the channel @lisajenkins8537. Have you had the chance to visit any of these haunted locations?
