Lotto companoes in Canada sure do-They check the date the time it was purchased and also if its scanned through the system the system will automatically freeze trigger an alarm dispatched to Lotto Corps Saying the winning ticket has been scanned and the Lotto Corp immediately calls The store asking to speak to the person sho scans it gets information-Then their investigators come to the store and retrieve surveillance footage with time stamps amd one of the requirements of being a carrier/seller of their lottery tickets is that they have a certain level of standard when it comes to surveillance equipment + CCTV types that are periodically maintenanced or else they do not permit a retailer to sell lotto tickets ehich hurts the retailer’s business by having lower volumes of customers coming in (theyd rather go to the retailer 2 blocls down who sells tickets amd buy their gas and chocolate bar while they check their tickets) Lotto corps here (terms and conditions) can void the win if a person working there claims it and for some reason their surveillance footage (CCTV) is not working the retaileritself in that case does not win the ~100k + for selling the ticket and the lotto officials can tie up the win and void it completley. Their surveillance cameras not working will only mean that workers at the retailer could easily be stealing, and its also a form of insurance for the retailer In case theres a robbery, which happens quite a bit in which case- the losses + more are covered.
