As a successful dropper that got 99.7 percentile this year, the only real advice i can give is develop a sense of urgency. NEVER have the mindset of "oh i have the whole 24 hours a day entirely for jee" mindset, it'll only lead to you getting less things done with less efficiency. Set weekly targets.
Ya I'm taking drop honestly I'm super confident even after a lot has happened this year but your comment just made me more clear for my decision thanks ❤
As a JEE aspirant, who took both attempts of Jee Mains and yet failed to get even cutoff, i just want to accept that there are reasons that i failed. 1) Procrastination 2) Watching too much Adult Content 3)Left coaching institute for self study/online videos 4) Watching TH-cam every day for more than 6 hours 5)Lying to parents that my study was going well 6)Relying on too many channels, teachers, resources, and not even completing them properly 7)The biggest of All: No Practise for Mocks, No revision, just sleeping all day, and not doing all homework and no moduleand analysing test scores, 8)Not completing syllabus 9) Punctuation of time was not there 10) Watching strategy videos and not executing them 11) always checking colleges and their cutoffs 12) no formula sheets, short notes and no proper schedule 13) always busy in non acad. topics 14) not clearing doubts to your coaching teacher/ mentors 15)No care on health and health issues 16) Always complaining about my situation 17)afraid to ask questions/doubt to the teacher 18)always thought that the consequences will be there for my actions, but always ignored about it. 19)Always busying in watching tv, webseries, disney hotstar, marvel movies, listening songs on spotify 20) watching too many motivation videos from youtube"s bhaiya didis 20)
As an dropper, I suggest my juniors to take a drop for their dreams and the things you will learn in drop year is insane and the patience you learn is of another level. So don't hesitate to take a drop year . Hope you all be a great person.
As a dropper I approve your thought......specifically the real test of patience is when your closest of friends are going to colleges not very good ones but atleast going and having fun in their lives while you are just sitting at home and fighting for your dreams you do feel lonely and that becomes the biggest learning.........btw bro how much did you improve compared to last year?
@@Dip0326don't waste your chance to give jee advanced I myself with decent jee advanced prep failed to qualify by 0.24 . So be great full and try harder for first attempt only then think about a drop
Pro tip Dont think 1 year is left Think 1 week is left for your exam Less time more efficient Mind ko bewakoof banana aasan hai, keep telling your mind no more days r left for exam ,your mind will get adjusted for that 👍🏽
As a dropper myself, I would suggest that, all of you guys who are planning to take a drop will have to stay strict to their time table. Make a study plan for a week, a day, and set long term targets, which you need to take seriously. And also, you don't have to go behind one reputed coaching, one popular book, or anything like that. Everyone has their own pace, and make sure that you are able to study at your own pace, and you are able to spend more time on the topics you are weak at. Also, for first time dropper, with with a decent percentile (above 85-90 I would say) target Advanced and start your preparation. Always remember that you can't prepare fully for Advanced after mains in 2-3 months. Devote the time after mains to give regular mocks, and try to improve on your weaker topics. Until mains, try to parallely prepare for advanced, and spare at leat 25-30% time left to solve some good level questions. It will benifit you in both the exams. All the best! (For those who want to know my credibility, I have score 98.7%ile in JEE Main this year, and last year this was 92. A better comparison would be that I had scored around 87/300 last year, and this year I have scored 190)
@@devanshmadaan I have done self study, and I can't give any names. I haven't taken any coaching in my drop year, and I have prepared and planned everything on my own, with the help and suggestions by my 11th and 12th teachers.
@@Harshgupta1.. Galat kya hai? Har ek ka target alag hota hai, and har ek ka capabilities alag hoti hai. If you really want to risk it, then no problem, but agle saal same percentile pe 2-3k aad karlena apni rank pe.
1. Didn’t write enough mock 2. didn’t revise on time 3. didn’t practice question 4. Just watched lectures with teacher using his brain and just remembering the result 5. wasting time in watching strategies or making them. 6. didn’t even fully adapt to the paper pattern 7. was overconfident in myself 8. judged myself based on other’s performance thinking that i am better than them. So obviously i’d improve without putting in efforts. 9. Miscalculation on guessing the time period of any task. Thought would complete in X hours, but rather it took 2X which it shouldn’t have 10. Did things as per mood or feelings. Whenever shit became tough, started crawling towards health problems and shit.
If you are taking drop you can only turn it into either quiet successful or very disastrous. As a dropper you have huge pressure from society, study, parents & ur school friends who are now in college . As a dropper it was my worst time in my life & will be carried in my entire life. There was not a single hope left in my mind , I managed to control myself from 5 suc*de attempts by grace of my parents. Now definitely in starting all droppers will think about IIT but at the end you may struggle to clear the advance cutoff. Bitter but truth 💯

Being a succesful dropper i went from 89 to 99.1 this year , sir is correctly sqying correct dont think now give all the exams of other universities. This drop year is a harsh year so please dont take it easy parents will say smthing relatives will say smthing else , agar u think u can srsly improve only then consider it
As a dropper Pls don't rely on online study and lec video U can take as a help but not as main source of preparation Go under a guidance of a teacher who is offline available for u in mean time Hope u understand Just my concern for other like i failed i wish other Don't for this reason.....
As a dropper I would suggest to the juniors only take drop if you have sheer confidence that you might get a percentile above 99. As the current condition of jee mains I would not recommend drop to average students who were below 90 percentile. This year jee mains was 60% luck 40% hardwork, so keep this in mind and think multiple times before taking drop. I don't regret taking drop because I improved from my last year score and I'm getting a decent college in a good branch which I was not getting earlier. In 2023 I scored 87 percentile in 63 marks and this is year I scored 91 percentile at 140 marks😅
The thing is now even after getting 170 marks the percentile is in 96-97 (based on shift) and not to forget the atrocious ranks we get for these percentile dropping does seem like a viable option but we cannot control the uncontrollables like what if we get a shift like 27 jan where for even scoring 98 u need 220 and to be very honest mains is purely luck based who wont agree that 8 shift 1 and 2 was difficult than 4 shift 1 but marks vs percentile tells a different story hopefully will crack bitsat(no reservation) and dont even think of taking a drop
the 8 s1 and s2 being way too different in difficulty levels than 4 s1 s2 but their marks vs percentile parameters is just terrible. kis basis pe nta ne grant kri hai percentile idek
*I am an Online student and here I am leaving this comment that I will take second drop i don't know what result i will get but i will prepare myself upto a level that i should be able to attempt the whole paper. My Target Score, Percentile is 300 out of 300 and 100 percentile. And i think i can do it because mathematics is my strongest subject and my mathematics syllabus is almost completed. And chemistry is my weakest subject. Now i had to work more in physics and chemistry and from these two subjects mostly easy questions are coming. So it will be easy to master these two subjects upto mains level. I will also be giving CUET this year so physics and chemistry upto CUET level can also contribute to JEE mains marks so I think after 25 May i think if i study in a right way then i will score near around 150 marks in JEE mains mock tests by GOD's grace. My 2024 JEE mains result is approximately 72 percentile. But i myself don't know what is the matter with me few days ago i was seeing that i will surely attempt nearly around 50% paper of Mathematics of JEE Advanced 2021 and 2018. with good accuracy. And sometimes i am not able to attempt even 40% of questions in JEE mains. So ok whatever it is I will improve. And by GOD's Grace i will be able to achieve my Target score. I WILL UPDATE MY SCORE IN 2025. Radhe Krishna, Hari bol 🙏😄*

Taking account of current situation of exponentially increasing aspirants, I would suggest everyone thinking of drop do these for sure 1) Set realistic goals ( Maybe less than others but set yours and accomplish it ) 2) Sleep atleast 7 hours Daily 3) Wherever you are studying follow strictly and be consistent ( Being discipline is the main thing you need to have as no one's there to guide you) 4) Drop year would not only give you a better college but if you stay consistent throughout the 365 days , you'll learn Dedication, Discipline, Consistency, Urgency, Maniac nature to do whatever jobs taken by you in future...May you fail to get your dream college but you'll learn the attitude to be resilient! 5) Don't diversite your energy in other things than study ( You know what I mean )..... Meditate daily and for sure do 10 mins of exercise... That's all maybe the other ritual guidance will be given by your mentors and teachers but here's what I learnt.... Hope you'll meet your dreams for sure❤.....

As a successful dropper (99%) First analyze what is your quality, what I mean is can you really reach the Advanced level? If the answer is firm YES then join a offline coaching and blindly follow them. If there is doubt, then preferably join a Online Coaching (I would recommend PW) and solve last 5 year PYQ's. Prepare only for JEE Mains till January, and then depending on the percentile you get, you may then choose some advanced batch for your Adv preparation. This would be the safest bet for you.

The 1 Percent Rule states that over time the majority of the rewards in a given field will accumulate to the people, teams, and organizations that maintain a 1 percent advantage over the alternatives. You don't need to be twice as good to get twice the results.
Please don't decide on yt comments saying 'it's worth it' it's your life you know it better, I've messed up big time i have nothing to show to my parents now and father will be retiring in 3 yrs i won't even graduate by then if only i wouldn't have a dropped. Think hard for a week do you have time for this? Coz you still have to work hard in college too and just getting nit and iit won't guarantee you a big package, i know a cousin of mine IITKanpur 15LPA something he could have gotten form a reputed state college easily. Good luck
Sir meri January me 90%ile and april me 93%ile . Sir mai apne aap se commitment karta hu pakka 12+hrs padunga daily and jarur improve karunga 99%ile+ in january 2025.
yes sir i can give 10 hrs to study as i did pehle bhi i improved my percentile by like 20%tile in april as i was much dedicated towards 12th so i didnt put that much attention towards jee but after exams i did my my 100% that time without much resources but atleast i improved. im still not sure if i should take drop or not as it is very early for me im still preparing for cuet and other exam as well lets cuet ke results ke baad sab cofirm ho jaega but i think i should give a chance to myself as bina prep ke bhi i managed to score good by hardwork in 5 days
Dont year is not worth it.. Only 2% students or maybe 1% students can make the correct use of it and u can clearly see that the cut off / marks arr also increasing
My mistakes in this 2 years 1.) Dont Give enough mocks 2.) Dont study chemistry ( especially IOC ) seriously 3.) Diatracted online 4.) Did'nt complete deleted chapters for advance 5.) Wasted a lot of time after jee mains in serching collages and ranks etc. Iske alawa or koi mistake nhi ki mene Jee mains mai 97.85 aye ha advance mai 112 samajh nhi araha ki drop lu ya nhi
I would suggest that from now onwards the candidates who are preparing for jee 2025,2026 should now focus more on syllabus completion instead of perfecting some particular topics or units. There was a time when you could get 99.6+ percentile by scoring about 200 marks but now in some shifts that will not fetch you even 99 percentile.
My mistakes:- ACADEMIC Studied only fav topics Too much time in live sessions no problem solving Only theory Solved but with help of solutions and google NON AC Procrastination Day dreaming Demotivated becoz of low score Running away from challenging question solving only easy questions to have a fake confidence that I can solve questions Addicted to porn and masterbation Wrong frnds Watched insta reels for 2-3hrs During my study time I was physically on my table but mentally somewhere else like in bed with my girlfriend having sex etc…
I have got 99 perc but it is lower than what i was expecting even thogh i started my prep in 12 at this time everything depends on adv . I scored about 40 marks less in my mains bcs i messed my physics which is my strongest subj but still managed to gett 99 perc . All depends on adv if i dont get good in adv i will have to take drop
I passed 12th in 2021 and gave jee with 12th got 75%percentile after that I took a drop year with full confidence scored only 89 percentile got into NIT Srinagar Metallurgy branch, was satisfied I just wanted an NIT tag. after reaching NIT Srinagar in november 2022, I got to know that branch is more important and I faced discrimination for being in the lowest branch, I thought to take a partial drop by appearing in jee 2023, simultaneously managing my college studies and exams I gave january 2023 attempt got 91 percentile again demotivated started preparing for april attempt, my college endsem exams were clashing with the jee mains april attempt, I took a risk of leaving my college exams, bcoz I was confident in my jee preparation. I gave JEE on 15th april 2023 and scored 96 percentile I am from obc category, got NSIT and DTU middle branches ,which were my dream colleges. couldn't join these bcoz of high fees. Dont think 1 year is left
Think 1 week is left for your exam
Less time more efficient
Mind ko bewakoof banana aasan hai, keep telling your mind no more days r left for exam ,your mind will get adjusted for that 👍🏽
😊😊😊

9. Miscalculation on guessing the time period of any task. Thought would complete in X hours, but rather it took 2X which it shouldn’t have

Observe all the scenarios then take drop 👍 competition is changing very fast nowadays
All my worst case scenarios happened in drop yr
Taking account of current situation of exponentially increasing aspirants, I would suggest everyone thinking of drop do these for sure
1) Set realistic goals ( Maybe less than others but set yours and accomplish it )
2) Sleep atleast 7 hours Daily
3) Wherever you are studying follow strictly and be consistent ( Being discipline is the main thing you need to have as no one's there to guide you)
4) Drop year would not only give you a better college but if you stay consistent throughout the 365 days , you'll learn Dedication, Discipline, Consistency, Urgency, Maniac nature to do whatever jobs taken by you in future...May you fail to get your dream college but you'll learn the attitude to be resilient!
Being a dropper at jee 2024 got 98.7 this year and 88.6 last year..... i would leave a kind suggestion that jisko bhi lagta ho ki maine inn do saal mai bahut makkari kari hai aur apna 100 percent nai de saka aur bahut kuch baki hai karne ko like syllabus pyq ncert etc. then only take it ...and all those who gave their maximum and still are confused then don't take it ...and better join some coaching online/offline as it gets even harder to manage make and implement own plans and study in complete solidarity....
Good bro right jisne 100%nahi diya hai vo definately better krega 👍

1)if u didnt get 75 above in boards plz dont take a drop as u will find it very tough
2)if u are looking for online course then for

maths -vora classess
that it
3)dont wait for syllabus completion try to do as much pyq posiible
4)and last point is about mental health keep urself relax
5)and follow mathon go
all the best
My mistakes
1. Even though i knew i scored decent marks in Jan attempt, i slacked off due to my bad result(27 jan shift 1)
2. Overthinking the process instead of enjoying it
3. Ignoring Maths, scored 3 marks in April attempt
4. Giving too much time in watching lectures.
5. Didn't revise enough.
6. Didn't give enough tests.
7. Left IOC and OC for last.
8. Didnt cover 2-3 chapters in physics properly.
9. Relying too much on physics.

Think about it and if you take a drop close TH-cam take a paper and start studying
Mistakes I made :-
1.) Procrastination (always thinking of high scores without really studying hard).
2.) Studying like a donkey just to complete hours and lectures.
3.) Did not study literally anything for one year in 11th.
4.) Wasted whole 11th by just sleeping or doing timepass + games(no youtube or lectures), did nothing so couldn't get guidance about what to do in that situation.
5.) Started 12th thinking that I'll never let me get backlogs ever again(without studying anything of 11th).
6.) No revision or practice of questions, just lectures and questions of classes which teachers solved already.
7.) Running away from questions and books while studying chapters.
8.) Did not take care of health during 12th (because got motivated after wasting 11th so studied like a donkey for 12 - 13 hrs a day).
9.) Did not make good plans for last month of JEE (lack of proper planning just watching lect. Or 20- 30 quest. gives nothing).
10.) Didn't revise formulas or even basics of subjects.
11.) Completed 11th chapters instead of focusing in april attempt.
12.) Did not attempt enough questions in Mains.
13.) Lack of dedication and consistency- Studying 13-14 hrs on someday and studying 0-1 hr the other day.
14.) Did not follow coaching during last days of preparation, went for youtube crash courses which helped for others but idk why it didn't for me..maybe lack of revision again.

First analyze what is your quality, what I mean is can you really reach the Advanced level?
If the answer is firm YES then join a offline coaching and blindly follow them.
If there is doubt, then preferably join a Online Coaching (I would recommend PW) and solve last 5 year PYQ's. Prepare only for JEE Mains till January, and then depending on the percentile you get, you may then choose some advanced batch for your Adv preparation.
This would be the safest bet for you.

@@prabhugupta8482 yes correct decision, in offline I am 100% sure syllabus won't be completed on time.

Only 2% students or maybe 1% students can make the correct use of it and u can clearly see that the cut off / marks arr also increasing

Yr agar tum nhi kr pa rhe ho then why blame the situations it's better to work hard agar tum me commitment hai ki tum lagan se padhoge then why not take drop tum cutoff clear krne ke liye padh rhe ho ya paper phodne ke liye padh rhe ho so ye negative thoughts nikalo be clear in your vision cutoff clear nhi tumhe top 1% me aane ka sochna hai agar cutoff ka hi sochte rh gye toh aadha drop year toh tension me waste krdoge ki cutoff badh gya toh mai kya krunga agar yahi sochna hai aur mehnat nhi krni toh mat lo drop
Competition toh har saal badh rha infact tumhare pas ab is saal ke droppers se jyada acha experience hai ki worst scenarios for marks vs percentile kya ho skte and tum uske according to practice kro even if the next year is unpredictable you still will score better.....
Think about it and if you take a drop close TH-cam take a paper and start planning
