I finished Morning Star not long ago and have been burning through The Prince of Nothing series by Scott Bakker. Thanks for providing consistently good background noise for when I cook breakfast, Petrik! I dedicate this breakfast sausage to you

You're welcome, and thank you for the kind words! Sausage and egg is one of my favorite breakfast menus, so have it in my place! I need to read Prince of Nothing. That series has been in my TBR pile for years!

I wish I could be you right now and enjoy Lightbringer all over again! It's my favorite from the series, it fought with Morning Star for first place until it finally won by the end. Had everything I ever wanted, and hey, remember me when you see the words "clang clang clang!" Also was hoping to see Sun Eater on your list, it's in the background of your videos almost teasing me!

    • @PetrikLeo
      @PetrikLeo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Ohhh, Morning Star was my favorite before Light Bringer. That bodes well! And yeah, I will remember clang clang clang! Hahah this is so exciting. I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive but once it does, I'm starting immediately! For Sun Eater, well, the plan is to finish Light Bringer first and then start Sun Eater. So assuming everything goes to plan, I will be reading Empire of Silence next month! :)

You have lots of big name authors to enjoy this month - it should be a good one.
My August TBR: 6 Fantasy novels, 1 memoir
    - Wrath by John Gwynne (finishing up with Faithful and Fallen)
    - The Bone Shard War by Andrea Stewart (completing Drowning Empire)
    - An Echo of Things to Come by James Islington (Book 2, Lycanius trilogy)
    - Elantris by Brandon Sanderson
    - Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree
    - Song of Susannah by Stephen King (Book 7/8, Gunslinger series)
    - Not my Father's Son by Alan Cumming
I'm excited to be finishing up a couple epic fantasy series this month. I've especially been enjoying The Faithful and Fallen (after Malice, which I had some issues with).

    • @PetrikLeo

    August TBR:
    Light Bringer (already started)
    The Bonehunters
    Before They Are Hanged
    Reapers Gale

To Green Angel Tower feels like the last four books of a seven book series. The scope is staggering. It feels a lot "bigger" than something like Rhythm of War, which is technically almost the same size.
Fantastic fantastic book, but it can get exhausting for those reasons if you try to binge it. Though it'll be hard for anyone to not speed through those last 300 or so pages. 🙂

I personally love the Skyward Series. Randomly stumbled upon them, not knowing anything about it being considered YA, and listened to them as audiobooks. They made me interested in reading more Sanderson which led to me reading through the Cosmere right now. So it could be credited with revitalizing my love for reading novels after several years of mostly audiobooks and comics. And me hanging out on Booktube now 😁
I will start Sons of Darkness today or tomorrow (just finished Warbreaker) and after that I will choose something shorter and quicker and probably non-fantasy before finally getting to Words of Radiance. That will probably be all I can fit into this month. We'll see. I have The Combat Codes waiting, too, if I need more.

FYI to everyone, Humble Bundle has a Tad Williams bundle until the end of August that has basically every major book he's written in Kobo ebook form for $21 if you're on the fence. It covers all the way from his first cat fantasy Tailchaser's Song, including Memory Sorrow and Thorn, and even the last two Osten Ard books. Insane deal if you plan on jumping into the read. There's a few minor novels left out like Caliban's Hour but it covers a lot.

Hi there Petrik. How are you doing? Those books that you mentioned sound really good. As someone who has finished listening to all of the Wheel of Time series, I can tell you for sure that once you get to the three books that Brandon Sanderson wrote, you will find that the pacing is much better. I think that he ddi an amazing job with them, even if, according to him, they were hard to write. I am doing okay. Earlier last month, I finished listening to West With Giraffes, which was amazing. Also, about a week ago, I started listening to the Final Empire Mistborn, by Brandon Sanderson. This will be a re-read for me, but after I get done with the Well of Ascension, I will be on new material. I know I have no idea why I stopped listening to Mistborn era one after I got done with the Well of Ascension. All I can say, is that I got distracted by another book. I love his writing style. I am also still working on listening to Go Tell the Bees that i am Gone by Diana Gabaldon. Other than that, I may pick up either My Grandmother Told Me to tell You she is Sorry by Fredrik Bachman, When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin, or the Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. All of these books were recommended to me on a Facebook 12 Books in a Year challenge. I do want to start working on the Skywrd series too. I look forward to hearing what you think about them. See ya.

Filmed on location at an actual ruined fortress in Iran, with soundtrack by Ennio Morricone!), «Count Belisarius» by Robert Graves (Historical Fiction, about the Byzantine General and Conqueror, often dubbed «The Last Roman»), and «The Last King of Lydia» & «The King and the Slave» by Tim Leach (Historical Fiction centered on Lydian King Croesus and the Persian Empire)!

Same here, Alana. Hearing this from you is reassuring. Looking forward to meeting Doomslug. I have a sticker of him! :)
