The first half of this course, taught by Prof. Yaffe, is available on the MITx platform as 7.05x Biochemistry: Biomolecules, Methods, and Mechanisms. The videos below are from the second half of the course with Prof. Vander Heiden, which focuses on metabolism. The exception is Lecture 12, which is in the first half of the course and was taught by Prof. Vander Heiden. See ocw.mit.edu/7-05S20 for more information.

(On Sunday of March 19, 2023). On the Matter of Biochemistry and the Pentose Phosphate Pathway (PPP) by PhD Matthew Vander Heiden (MIT OpenCourseWare On Endowment Grant by the People of the World and Security Mandate Therein): 1) Calvin Cycle is the Essence of Reductive Reactions of Carbon (Oxidation of Carbon or Redox Reactions with Carbon as Basis) and a Highly Reversible Process; 2) Gluconeogenesis; 3) Transaldolase (TA) Reaction takes 3 Carbons Swaps in the Process of Advancing a Glucogenoprocess (Glycolysis [ATP Biosynthesis and Glycogen Biosynthesis] and Nucleic Acid [DNA/RNA Encoding]) Biosynthesis by Augmenting the Former by 2 or 3 Carbons with an Active Site of Lysine (Alpha-L-[Lys, K] Amino Acid in the Respective Enzyme); 4) Transketolase (TK) is an Enzyme which Advances 2 Carbons (Thiamine Pyrophosphate [TPP+]) by Subtracting 2 or 3 Carbons; 5) Pentose Phosphate Pathway (PPP and Shunt Therein) is the Chemistry of NADPH Regeneration and Ribose (Pentose Monosaccharide of Nucleic Acid Biosynthesis Precursor) Biosynthesis; 6) Oxidative Pentose Phosphate Pathway takes Glucose-6-Phosphate to Ribulose-5-Phosphate (Carbon Dioxide [CO2]+ NADPH) to Ribose-5-Phosphate; Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Enzyme (G6PD and Oxidative Reduction Reaction) allows to Focus on Glycolysis and ATP Production as a Possible Mechanism of Control of Production (Environmental Control or Demand Basis) and is a Highly Reversible Pathway. A G6PD Deficiency (A Mediterranean Metabolic Deficiency [Malaria Resistance] Disease) is a Congenital Disease with Oxidative Stress Signs and Symptoms; 7) Non-Oxidative Pentose Phosphate Pathway (Non-Ox-PPP); and 8) Epimerase Reaction (Along with Isomerase Reactions) ultimately Gives the Organism And Cells Therein a Faculty of Bioenergetics and Anabolic Reproductive Capacity (DNA Replication with Nucleotides via Ribose Pentose (Deoxyribose Pentose); PhD Vander Heiden, Es Geht Sehr Gut zu aufbauen und lernen mit Ihnen Die Biochemie Des Lebens. Heil!
