    When I sponge it?

    • @whoisOsa
      @whoisOsa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      assuming you have a 4abc hair type then some reasons that could cause that is your not keeping your hair dry enough. try using lock in gel if you are trying everything else but your hair is still not locking. and when i sponged my hair at the start it looked hella messed up that’s why i stopped sponging and just started using my finger to twist it like i showed in the video. if you want to see my journey and what you should expect to see through your process here’s the link to my freeform dread journey. th-cam.com/video/3oaJcwYosJE/w-d-xo.html

      i used the sponge at the vetch beginning of my journey for about 1 month then i started only twisting it with my fingers. i’d recommend twisting because then you have full control of how they’ll turn out, and if you want skinnier dreads then twisting can get that the fastest. i explained how to twist them some where in this video. lmk if you still have questions

    U sleep w durag or bonnet.???I got 4c hair and it comes to
    Almost my Chin..I already twisted that shit I just don’t know if pressure from durag is good

    • @whoisOsa
      @whoisOsa  ปีที่แล้ว

      when my hair was short i slept with a durag, but when some of the hair was long enough to go past the durag i got a bonnet. now my hair is really long so i tuck my hair into the bonnet. it’s not about the pressure of the durag or bonnet it’s about laying your hair in silk. if you don’t sleep with your hair on/in silk your hair will have more fizz, be less hydrated, and have more breakage from friction. so i’d say get a silk bonnet that you can put all your hair into. if your hair is too long for a bonnet then i suggest getting a silk pillow cover. good luck gang 🤝🏾

    Should I put on a swim cap when I get in the pool then?

    • @whoisOsa
      @whoisOsa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i don’t think that’ll really prevent it from getting wet but it might help, what i did was i would either not put my hair under the water and just chill in the pool or i would just swim and let my hair get wet, its not that serious. but you have to wash your hair after you swim. so if i know imma go swimming, i wouldn’t wash my hair for atleast 2 weeks before since imma watch it then

    • @whoisOsa
      @whoisOsa  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yes it will still get flat but it will reduce breakage, reduce friction, prevent fizz and tangling. when your hair is longer it will be harder to be matted but regardless it will still flatten a little. wearing a bonnet is better than nothing.
