The posters being packaged like that is really smart. All one has to do to ‘flatten’ them is roll them in the opposite direction once and then you have nice flat paper.
@@TJRtheOriginal oh ok thanks! Still would of been cool to have the 45 with it. I like the lil extras like that, especially now with the price of records I want all I can get outta my money
What a horrible design for that box set. I'm glad I already had the "Brussels Affair" show on the Japanese "Marquee Club 1971" set. I definitely would have bought that, if I hadn't. But, I bought the 2 CD set instead. Really, all I'm missing are the music videos. Which I would've wanted. I remember seeing them for the first time, back in the late 1980's on a "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" episode repeat. What a headache that book would be.
We have historically gotten the same monthly selection from Amazon. The two-LP version of this album was mine last month. How about you? If so, I think you have enough versions 😂
Good to hear from you. Actually I cancelled the Amazon record club several months back (I did mention it in a video a while back but you probably missed it). All I owned previously was the single LP edition with the 7 inch. I have thought about re joining the Amazon club again just to see what they send. Sounds like you have been enjoying the selections?
@@TJRtheOriginal Very pleased. Since October, my selections have been The Who Sell Out, The Wall, Are You Experienced?, Quadrophenia (Movie soundtrack), Dark Side of the Moon, Harvest, Boots (Nancy Sinatra), Goats Head Soup (2 disc set). The only ones that I already owned on vinyl were Harvest and an old copy of Goats Head Soup, so I can't complain.
the last box set that i buy was the john lennon first album"plastic ono band" and it was fantastic(on cd-i only own cds)-i think they made a mistake on the rolling stones box set-you right , i also hate when posters are roll down grrrrr very difficult for made them straight-a downer-for this album i own the 2009 remaster cd(and also the entire 70's catalog in those 2009 remasters)-for me it's a great album, after this album the quality is still there but the albums are not classics anymore (my thoughts)-great singles , but no more masterpieces-their next great album is "tatoo you" , "undercover" is good then i'am not into the stones anymore-bye bye micky jagero lol
Does every albulm now qualify for a big anniversary deluxe set? Personally I think this albulm is one of their worst... Only 10 tracks! Who wants to listen to outtakes of mediocre music imo. This is just absurd to me. Let's leave these big reissues to classic albums.
If Wings' "Wild Life" can get a super deluxe reissue, then so can The Rolling Stones' "Goats Head Soup". This remix actually made me re-appraise the album in a better light. It's not nearly as good as the four albums which preceded it. But, I thought it was much better than I remembered, from hearing it on vinyl in the 1980's. The three outtakes are surprisingly good to me. Even the alternate mixes are revelatory. "Silver Train" has a more blues edge on the Glyn Johns alternate mix. And I think Giles Martin's remix helped to make the album more palatable. There's a few songs I still don't like that much, but this is a much better album than I used to give it credit for.
@James: I have always really liked this album from start to finish. I was definitely interested in this set, but didn’t like it enough to pay the amount they where asking when it was released though. Glad you enjoyed the remix. I liked it a lot too.
@John: I have always liked this album from start to finish. As for what get’s the big anniversary deluxe set and what doesn’t? Like any re release: it all depends on whether the label/and or owner of the master recordings believes there is enough interested individuals who will buy it, to warrant the cost of manufacturing and turn a profit on it. I am not sure how that level of interest is gauged, but I’m sure they have to have some kind of indicators that tell them there is enough interest. These things are expensive to make so they have to get some kind of research numbers to warrant the cost. But you can bet, that if this one didn’t make money there will a lot more caution exercised before they release another one. If they do at all.
a beautiful gift for collectors
Deary me - this makes the Sgt. Pepper deluxe box design look like a work of art 🤣 what an entertaining video, thanks Matt
Goat’s Head Soup is a fantastic album
The Remix is superb
The Brussel’s Affair must be listened to at MAXIMUM VOLUME

I tried that with mine and they ended up with a bunch of creases. I think if the paper was thinner it would work better.
I think The Rolling Stones should take a que from Elton John, he knows how to package and market a box set
I got the clear 2lp set with the goat head on cover it looks exact same as yours but mine didn't come with a 45 single
That’s because it was the 2LP set. The track on the single was already on your 2nd LP

What is the link to pre-order the Rolling Stones mono box set ?
I just typed in Amazon UK to get to the store, and from there typed Rolling Stones mono LP, in Amazon’s search window.

That sheet on the back of the box is called a J Card.
LOL - Thanks!
A J card folds around to the front. This is not a J card.

What? My copy did not come with a 7” record …. ??
That's lame

I realize now why - I got the 2-LP re-release, so no need for the single. Although I’d like that single, I like the picture sleeve!

Dude just put some heavy books on the poster to flatten. Folding them would ruin the posters.
How can you not know that??!!!?
I would prefer they do roll their posters. I hate the folded ones as the creases never come out. That said, the design of this is weird top to bottom.

I agree... That's what I mean
