Man, how the place has changed. I spent 6 days on Saipan in 1977, and Garapan was short strip of buildings and shops that closed at sunset. There was one hotel then, a quite nice one, and most of the tourists were Japanese. I scuba dived what was the a Japanese seaplane base during the war. There was a sunken reck of an Emily H-k8 seaplane. Very interesting. The grotto was fantastic. There was one dive shop then, run by a Siapanese man by the name of Ben Conception. I drove all over the island, and pretty much had the place to myself. I thought of my uncle, who was part of the invasion force, and how he walked the places where I was. Saipan was one of the most memorable places I ever seen. A place where there was an incredible loss of life , and so quiet and peaceful. The island is unrecognizable from what it was.
Oh Yeah, if you spent time in the Philippines you are going to be right at home here in Saipan! Not only do they have Red Horse, they have San Miguel, they have all the Filipino Foods, 60% of the Island is Filipino. You will fit right in :D
@@rustynut1969 I honestly do not buy it that often, I drink Corona. Most Imported Beer is about $2.50 a bottle, so Redhorse is probably around $3.50 do to it's size.
@@Regularguylive Guam is a little more Developed, Guam has more Restaurants, different kinds of places, so you can find places that are expensive and places that are Cheap in Guam. One of my Favorite places to eat in Guam is the Night Farmers Market. It is awesome and very reasonably priced. I also like the BBQ place in Tumon Bay they have an Awesome BBQ Burger I think for around $12 I will start Traveling around as soon as all this COVID BS is over.
Hafa adai, & thanks for Saipan videos---especially the Christmas lights vid. Really miss Saipan: last time was Feb. 2020, just before hotels/flights affected by Pandemic. {If you'd like to get more subscribers: PLEASE make slower, EVEN video panning shots. My partner gets dizzy/queasy, watching rapid, jagged Vid shots. (Check out vid quality (& technique) of travel blogs by seasoned posters with many subscribers, IF you'd like more viewers to keep watching.) Best of luck, brother...& again, thanks. }
Thanks for the Advice, I am used to using Film Cameras that don't have such a problem with Panning. Hard to get used to Digital. I will do my best to improve. :D
The economy is kinda relative to your income. If you are making money online or from retirement you should be okay here. The economy is almost the same as Mexico. The Rent prices are the same, Taxi prices the same, food is a little higher. But there are no Jobs here most of the Hotels are closed, so it is relative.
Thanks for the offer, but I think someone at Corona saw my Videos, because ALL the Stores are Stocked now, Joeten in Garapan where I live LITERALLY has One Whole Pallet in the Cooler, and Ten 24 Bottle Cases Stacked up in the Isle Way! So I think I should be okay for a While. :D
Mark I think you should read the note below, that guy wants to ship you a pallet of Corona. I think I met you a few months back at a room across from the Fiesta , had a meal with a woman and her uncle ,,, this was a really good video,, you did a great job
@@marksawesomeadventures doing well, I was never able to get on that teach site, I tried. You do a good job on your videos, I’ve watched a few , if you get bored check mine , take care Mark
Thanks, I DO appreciate it, :D I think I will be okay eventually. Just takes a while to get the Ships in here to deliver the stuff half the time. Thanks for thinking about me anyways. :D
