- Hello there! If you're new here, I'm Shabir from Velo City - a VTuber-adjacent channel that's been covering VTuber content for over 3 years now. A lot of people from outside the space have provided their thoughts on the insane situation that is The Selen Tatsuki X Nijisanji Incident so I thought you might be interested to hear my take as a VTuber and (ex-)NIJISANJI fan who got into the rabbit hole, in part, thanks to NIJISANJI.

Let this be a lesson to current and upcoming Vtuber agencies that it is not okay to treat talents like this
they are trying to pull a vic mignogna on her. it's disgusting.
Thank gosh there are some good companies that doesn't practice this kind of behavior, right?

This is absolutely horrible, and to think all of this is by a company, not one person, not just a group of people, a whole damn company is doing this. This is messed up

Here is the main issue a lot of people don't tend to see.
Nijisanji has lost either way.
Regardless if Doki does sue, regardless if there is gonna be some legal battle.
Even if Doki somehow talked shit in some sense, if there is some severe misunderstandings:
Niji still handled the entire situation like dogshit.
The termination notice was a dumpster fire.
The stream on Elira's channel that occured just as Doki began her own stream is just unacceptable as its obvious the company was being malicious.
The negligible notice, I mean, what.😂
This isn't the first time either, Selens termination was just what made the pot boil over after countless of screw ups and mismanagement errors we seen before.
They mishandled Yugo, talents leaving en masse by now, how they treated Zaion.
The entire Niji ID Fiasco.
Too much to list.
Niji's problem isn't Selen, it's their own incompetence and sheer maliciousness they have displayed time and time again. And this time, they REALLY screwed up that it cant just be ignored any longer.
It was kinda fun and games cause "Haha, another week. Another weird Niji incident" but its beyond that point.
And the fact the Elira stream happened only for Riku to promise change?
I mean, hello?
That stream did exactly the opposite of what Riku said.
That stream punched Doki just as she is about to get up from the ground, it did more harm. It was unneccessary, it was stupid, it did nothing but worsen the situation and they put the livers even more in the crossfire.
This ENTIRE SITUATION could have been prevented if Niji just knew how to shut up.
Literally all that was needed was something like
"After careful discussion with Selen Tatsuki and in respect to her health, both sides have mutually agreed to end our cooperation.
We thank Selen for everything she has done and wish her well in the future".
That was all they needed!
It just sucks.
Yeah, I don't even have anger as a Dragoon. Selen was the best EVEN WITH the dogshit management always screwing her over. Her WWE event was amazing with tons of hillarious crossovers. I'm just so sad that we not only lost this, we may never know how good this could have been. It could have been huge. She has the talent, the patience, the perseverence. Everyone lost. It's a tragedy. It's depressing when someone can do great things finally arrives at long last, they never get the opportunity to do anything. It's such a waste! This is so depressing to me. Everyone talks about drama and nijisanji, but they don't matter. All the talent is going to waste!
With the puppeting of Selen's account. They could have put out a statement without pretending to be her.
That they faslified a message about her heath and another about her family was a very bad move.
After Considering the possibility that Niji thought she was going to drop the bomb shell with the legal document when she requested to leave on amicable terms, I had to think that they terribly misunderstood the situation and tried to nuke her first instead.
they outed themselves for knowing discovery, which only lawyers and people directly involved in would know. but even then, saying hey, we know what is on the discovery documentation and try to PUBLICALLY do it? these people are morons.
its between lawyers and the people directly involved. what solar system do they live in when you can say that stuff? dude even people in jail shut up about discovery documentation.
@@professorpenne9962 it Unfortunately has to be the land of the Sun. I question in what good mind did their team had when they never clarified with Doki's lawyers about this at all before jumping on the Scramble Gundam of a situation.
@@DelphinSquared I find it to be a bit goofy that some people don't understand the laws and rights of north america. if you call someone and say some insane stuff and they record it, the person who said crazy stuff doesn't get a free pass just because they said don't record it

Yees I was actually waiting for your take on this as well, because imma be honest I have no idea still abt Vtubers stuff in general, but I did come across abt this through Mujin and Asmond talking abt this, then it reminded me of you, so yeah, thank you so much on taking this, this was actually quite a learning exp a bit too!!

I blame Niji's management, mainly, but I also blam Elira, because it's became obvious that she was some kind of "unofficial" management (the namee "queen " has been thrown around a lot referring to her) in NijiEN, hoarding the best sponsorships even though she wasn't even close to being the most subbed, and creating a clique of like-minded livers with Vox and (sadly to me) Ike, and more than likely too Enna and Millie. The girls knew each other before being in Niji and that, combined with the lack of proper management, them being featured with little time to carve each one's niche, and being put in direct competition against each other, has created a company culture of hatred and mistrust and groups against groups. Seemingly, Pomu was, at a time, part of the group of friends, but I'll give her a pass because she left the company when she saw it was gonna sink, which proves in my eyes that she had enough self-awareness and wherewithal to step back and let the others stab each other in the back.
Niji (Kurosanji) is dead to me. Let's move on.

Little update, Mujin just uploaded a update for this and his last take. because after he made his 1st video, the announcement by nijien came out like 6 hours after.
I know this had to be hard to make because I been watching the channel for quite some time and have seen niji reactions. outsiders don't know how deep a cut this is.
Let's Chris Benoit this company and never, ever, EVER mention them in passing ever again.
If that termination letter Niji sent out had the redacted black lines to hide information that would be unnecessary and make them look worse, we’d just have a black picture
So what we can take away from this is if you want to be a VTuber, be independent, don’t join an agency. Mujin puts out some banger vids

The biggest company in vtubing is Nijisanji actually so I'm confused by your claim? Hololive is the only big one aside of them and barely had any PR mess up compared to Nijisanji (EN specifically). I don't remember any of their talents attempting (and succeeding) suicide (thanks god if I may). Maybe I missed something but I don't remember anything comparable?..
This truly is the worst management case in Vtubing as of date, not even Coco and Rushia's disasters can relate honestly to me.
Yep. The work culture over there is terrifyingly awful.
Look at how anime artists are treated.
That's before we hit less public facing companies.
The core issue is that defamation of a company's public image will get you sued even if you can prove what you said was true.
This has given so many corps free reign to just abuse people.

That's also not true because as we know some kpop company which have higher market than vtubing have done some f*cked up shit to their talents which resulted some of their talents successfully self delete.
Both sides are stucked imo, Nijisanji currently can't do anything without getting blasted. The innocent livers can't say anything without getting their livelihood more f**ked even more than it already is while fearing they might be made a scapegoat. Fans of livers blaming Doki and Dragoons for not clearing thing up whlile imo Doki can't say anything either legal wise or the fact that if she points the guilty parties out, those witch hunting will all focus on them and if they are pushed into offing themselves, she will become a villian even though she told her fans to not harass people. And if this goes into a lawsuit even if she crowdfunds the court fees, it will take a emotional and financial toll on her. I think people forget it isn't just Dragoons and Nijisanji fans and there's a 3rd group that just wanna blow things up. But yea, I admit I ain't willing to let things cool down just so that kurosanji can sweep things under the rug and recover from this.
I have hard time watching this vid because the video you reacted to is bad imo. That guy laughed too much. While the situation is truly ridiculous, this situation is very hurtful for vtuber fans. Only non-vtuber fans enjoyed drama like this and can laugh like that.
while i don't disagree, also note that laughing is often a defense mechanism. Its possible that the person in the video has that perspective. (Doki laughs about it when she brings it up because "if she doesn't it gets too real")
