Good video guys nice gold. My opinion is you ought to stratify all your material because if not, you're going to be hand sweeping it off the top of that thing either way. you're going to be stratifying one way or another.lol. But to each his own my friend
Hi and Thank you for commenting. I think you mean classify? and yes, that's what it's doing. It's classifying the material right on the sluice box. This cuts out one whole step. In this situation here there was not quite enough drop in the river and it was too deep to build a dam so it was easier just to sweep off the large stones and that's ok. It did slow me down a bit but I think it's still easier than classifying into a bucket. As you can see it still caught the very fine gold. I use this only when I can't use power equipment and I don't want to classify.
I would use my high banker first but this was filmed before the power equipment season. I like a sluice box but you need to classify and I don't like classifying. With This you don't need to classify but it's more difficult to set up on large rivers. This fluid bed sluice requires a 6' drop in a 2 ft span. So in larger rivers that can be difficult if the water is deep. Smaller streams it's easier. If it's easy enough to set up without having to more a ton of rocks to build a dam then I will use it, if not I would use a regular sluice because it only requires a 1 or 2 inch drop.
Yes that's a good spot. I use to spend summers up there with my grandmother and uncle and other family members they were raised there at the old farm. There's def gold in them there Hills..😊

Not a bad amount of gold. Dinner looked yummy. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching.
Gold is gold, but the mascots are great. Hipbee needs a well deserved rest for 11 minutes. Then get him back to work to earn his spot in the hive.
He'll be back next week.

I have a secret I know where the gold is coming from on the I think it's the branch that goes up not the main branch West Branch
There is gold in the West Branch but access is the issue.
