the definition of a violent by nature organism is one that reciprocates force. What made this creature so daunting was the fact it knew to cause excess pain and torment before killing. Whether it be shredding your insides. Breaking your limbs. Or, manually opening your helmet so the last breath you take is the one it takes from you. A truly unique design of a creature.
I would argue in all of those situations the alien was trying to survive, not go out of its way to be violent. For example, he could've killed the dr with the broken hand if he wanted to, but he had no reason to anymore.

can we blame this creature? it needed to eat to survive, and also, it has survival instincts just like us. remember when that one dude tried to electrocute it to “wake it up?” well it knows electricity is dangerous, so it probably thought the human was trying to kill it, and its survival instincts kicked in, and so it tried to kill that person. Calvin just wanted to live, its basically the most primitive function any living thing has. Forget friends or family or love, or whatever BS floats your boat. We all fought an almighty battle to be here and waste it on youtube.
The movie requires that the creature be indestructible and seemingly omnipotent. How could it know that the pod was being manually steered into outer space and then force the pod back to Earth?
Thank you, amazed no one else pointed this out. It's one thing for Calvin to be smart enough to use simple tools or strategies for hunting, but it's another entirely for it to "just eyeball it" and know how to read extremely complex displays and infer how to move the flight stick to achieve re-entry. It's like saying that just because it can use a pointy object it must therefore be able to instantly learn how to pilot an aircraft, like what lol 😂
I agree, the clips that I have seen are typical of modern film making, remake something instead of doing something original, add a music score that is overbearing and heavy on the bass, for the horror scenes give stupid little cuts hiding the good stuff, weird pacing, weird acting, weird script. YUCK

Not a single component of this station is capable of leaving Earth's orbit. Everything will fall to Earth, sooner or later.
