    Hey man just a serious heads up! Those manifolds are NOTORIOUS for bustin a weld and causing these crazy wild goose chase situations for a vacuum leak. If you have any problems after boosting like it’s good then outta nowhere runs like doodoo...check them welds first n foremost on that manifold before going and tearing everything down trust me bro

      Thanks for the heads up, we’ll for sure remember that just in case ✊🏼

    Looks like a descent weight reduction too. Everyone saying welds will crack, it is possible and has happened but it is rare. I’ve seen these pushing 10psi without an issue.

      He better! All love here we don’t try to compete with each other. i’ve built a G35, E46, E30, and working on the IS300 now. I’ve spent a lot of money on cars and it’s easier to focus on one build which is what martins doing and what i’m starting to do too.

    More air pressure changes the air to fuel ratio more air= a need for more fuel, not getting enough fuel or fuel flow may be causing loss of horsepower also want to retune your ecu.

    Ight so I got an 03 g35 runs very smooth but I soon want to tune it for more power but it’s completely stock EVERYTHING any tips or steps I should do before getting a tune (I’m new to modding a car)

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whatsup man! I suggest getting some mods before a tune as you will gain no power with just a tune. depending on how much power you want and the risks of smog I would get the setup we have without this mod as a plenum spacer and bored manifold will do better than this manifold without a turbo or supercharger. Check out our mod videos for installs and more details and feel free to message @staticmartin on instagram for a mod list as well

  • @verticaleffects3518
    @verticaleffects3518 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Might have to re weld the manifold everyone has been saying these crack and if you want performance you need an angled plenum spacer because these don’t give proper air flow to two of the cylinders

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vertical Effects We had a angled spacer with a motordyne mrev manifold. that’s a perfect setup for na, but we’re preparing it for boost.

    So I got a g35 and it has some problems shifting. It passes 3rd gear but after that it just climbs. It’s a auto and I’ve already changed out the cams and that didn’t work. I got it scanned and what it said was my cams are too advanced for my ECU. Could you help me out?

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be the shift solenoids in the transmission. I highly doubt from my experience that it could be the cans but you never know! i would look at the solenoids and see if they’re engaging but you would need a nissan scanner :(

    • @Jay-gz4xz
      @Jay-gz4xz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Static Garage okay thank you. I’m still pretty new to this car stuff I’m trying to learn as much as I can. I know this is a lot to ask for just 1 sub but could you possibly do a tutorial on that or just a brief walk through? Could I do this at home or would I need to take it to the shop?

  • @fernandohood5542
    @fernandohood5542 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Poor air flow. you can look at the manifold and see it wont flow properly.

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fernando Hood That’s not true. I agree that scavenging and other factors take place with NA builds causing losses but with boosted applications it actually adds power. Only problems I see is the welds cracking but hopefully that won’t happen anytime soon

    I wasn't going to comment but as you are both young thinking maybe I could share a thought.
    16.7 @ idle may be somewhat misleading but less of a concern to my way of thinking than is your understanding. You need take into account port injection @ idle which is common @ 1.1 lam.... or 16.1. So there could be a cam thingy or small leak above the o2 or not? The 14.7 reading is ok but if you're chasing HP that will change too, as will the boost..

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand! I was also thinking about e85 too, so it might seem leaner but once you start driving it it’ll start running fatter at the top end. stoichiometric is 14.7:1 or when reading AF voltage, 3.3 volts. he’s not cammed either so their isn’t any choppiness or extra air being pushed in at any given interval. I guess all we can do is have the tuner check it out and see if that’s appropriate for the map he’s running. i’m still learning as i go (still in school) and need 2 more ASE’s to go, engine performance being one lol. Thanks for sharing man!
