I played the demo and it reminded me of games like “Flower”and “Journey “.Also in the demo was jumping with the dog a little clunky and the moving of the canoo felt strange.Seeing this video it looks like the grafics where improved over the demo.I still would like to pick this game up for an beautiful story experience supported with orchestra music .Thanks for the review it looks like it is a Raw diamant 💎 of a game experience.
Another game I saw popping up on GoG and got my attention. I love dogs although I don't have one. A heart-breaking story is also one of the things I like in some games. The price is a bit steep for a 5 hour game with technical flaws but I'll consider buying it anyway. Thank you for the review!
Farewell North has been in the wishlist for awhile now, the demo ran well on deck so I’m glad the full game does as well! While I’m not jumping to buy it immediately, it’ll definitely be a pick up for me 💜
I know this is asking for a spoiler, but I kind of really want to know this before buying it or not, especially because I know the game's story is based around loss. Does the dog die at the end?
Yeah we can't really answer that without a spoiler obviously but what we can say is the game does not feature any graphic violence if that's a concern!
@@IDreamofIndie Damn u_u can't find the answer anywhere, but something in some reviews made it sound like that might be the case, thus why I'm searching. Weirdly enough I couldn't care less about violence or gore or anything like that. Just animals dying. 😅 I don't feel like playing a game like that and ending up in a puddle of tears cause they killed off the dog, even if that dog literally dies in their sleep. 😂 Just not in the best headspace for that these days. Ah well. Thanks anyway.
*SPOILERS* > > > > > > > > > > I can say with certainty, the dog doesn't die at the end. HOWEVER, I have worded that in an extremely specific way that will become apparent if you play to the end. It's still very emotional and pulls heavily on the heartstrings associated with losing a pet.
I agree with a lot of the points here, although personally I think the voice work is first rate - the delivery is incredibly natural and the affection/bond with the dog is perfectly sold. I think you were maybe a little harsh on the controls, too, although I agree it's not perfect. That said my perspective is probably compromised by my utter love for the overall package!
Stray was epically mid, people just lose their minds cause it has a kitty. Who, turns out, isn't even the main character. This actually looks a lot better.
Will you be checking out Farewell North? Let us know in the comments below!
YES

This is crazy, my Bordercollie i had when i was young was named Chess :)
What a wild coincidence!
to defend the nippy chihuahua - i have a tiny terrier and although she is a little b*** she is my best friend and we go on hikes and climbs together.
Good review.
Thank you!
