    My wife is from Venezuela. She came here on a refuge program. She became a U.S. Citizen a year before we met. It took her 11 years and over $20,000. It's the same with several of her family members. They take it as a personal affront when people come here illegally and get more help than they ever got. It's wild that it's such a difficult concept for so many people.

    This woman really said they are on their own!?! You know who else is on their own the thousands of homeless veterans that served this country. You know who else is on their own the family of the border patrol agent that was killed. This lady should go speak to a homeless veteran and tell them illegal immigrants needs are more important than theirs. Tell them that they deserve tax payer money, free hotels and food because they are on their own. Right now they are at the border refusing to leave because apparently they should come before American citizens. The entitlement is wild.

      I have an idea. Since many of them have children who are now "citizens" and we cannot legally deport children, let the parents go and put the children in the Department of Family Services. They are, after all, American citizens. This will change their attitudes.

    I don't get why some people don't get such a simple standard. If you are here ILLEGALLY, then you need to be deported, your first act in the US was breaking the law. If you are here LEGALLY, we embrace that, and welcome those. We need a process to vet and go through people, we can't just let every single person in because 'oh I feel bad.'

    Military members at the border some advice from an old veteran and operative; Cover your face. Some of the Cartels use facial recognition tech, it's cheap and usable from a phone on a drone, and if they can find out who you are they can find out who and where your family is.       My favorite convenance store and deli was bought by a legal Indian migrant. Did things the right way and built his way up to owning 3 stores and a small tavern, and treats everyone with absolute respect for the opportunity as if he was in his own country speaking to elders. Again LEGAL!

The farm I get most our meat from has been in the same family for 150 years, 14 feet of topsoil, wetlands, animals roam, calves at foot, and so on. But it is getting harder for them to survive even with their fiercely loyal, often generational, customers.

    It was incredibly dangerous to try to enter the country illegally. Also, under asylum law, the people seeking asylum are required to do so at the first safe country. There are plenty of safe countries between these countries and the US. There are people coming from China, counties in Africa, the Middle East, Russia, etc. if can afford to fly around the world to enter the US illegally at the border.

      They can’t afford the flights. We paid for those too. There are jobs citizens won’t do, and said citizens can figure that out on their own. If we invented 2 billion jobs that doesn’t mean you get one just because you need it. Still a very competitive job market. Those jobs will be even more available after the illegals are gone. You still have to start a cleaning business and the companies that pay for those services need to make sure they paying a negotiable price, instead of 2-5 bucks an hour

      People are spoiled. Some of the jobs I did as a student and whilst travelling abroad still make me shudder! But Corportions should put more of their profit margin to improve conditions in some of these industries so there is legal redress for legal workers if they don't; the shareholder model as it stands leaves not much room for that.

    I live in Western Australia, where the majority of jobs are mining and primary industries....jobs people do NOT want to do. There is barely any illegal immigrants, so that creates an environment which sides with the employees. Cleaners here are paid $30-$50 an hour. Trades and miners earn mega $$ which puts pressure on other industries to pay more. An open border favours the rich. They can continue to pay low wages!!

    took me and my family like 7 years to become a citizen the legit way. Parents had to find sponsored work and we had to follow the laws, pay taxes, take a test about the US, etc. We came from a 3rd world country and my parents worked hard to even leave that country let alone become a citizen here. It isn't fair that people come in illegally while families like mine are trying to do things legit.

    The only people i feel bad for are the kids who are raised to only know the US and because their parents did not become citizens they will get deported into a country they know nothing about, but it has to happen to prove that there are consequences for illegal actions, my hope is that those kids are given the chance when they get older to re-immigrate legally into the US.

    The military is allowed to do things like help planning, run drones to help spot people sneaking in, moving people from temporary holding to longer term detention facilities etc. It's basically the logistics chain behind the direct hands on arresting people they can do freeing up ICE people to just do arrests. Its not enough but it'll have more impact than simply them just being there to watch it happen.
