Trudvang is a Swedish rpg inspired by Norse mythology that evolved from Runequest. It was one of the original Swedish campaign settings for the Swedish licensed version of Runequest originally. Later on, it'd become its own thing.
Its rules are pretty solid. It uses d20s, instead of classic percentages, and a d10 for damage, which explodes according the type of weapon you use (8+, 9+, or 10).

Shintaro Kago, Kamome Shirahama, Takayuki Takeya all have very trippy, heavy detail styles. Kamome is a master panelist in her manga: witch hat atelier...really looking forward to BLASTERKID!

It's going to take me all week to finish this, but I appreciate the incredible content.
Thanks for covering Hannes Bok. He wasn't stippling like Virgil Finlay on the black and white illustrations; he was using coquille board, sometimes called stipple board. It's a drawing paper with a raised texture that you can shade on with a crayon or hard pencil to get modeling with a regular pattern built in, that printed fairly clearly in the old offset publications. I took a course in biological illustration years ago where we experimented with it. In the comments, Wayne Smith mentions Stephen Fabian; he actually used the same technique.
His color process was inspired by Parrish. Painting individual colors in layers, separated by layers of varnish, the colors were never actually blended, except by the viewer's eyes. Having pure color shining through other pure color makes a particularly startling and vibrant effect.
Corben did something similar with color separations done by hand, where he used airbrush drawing on separate color overlays so that the colors looked painted but, again, weren't blended, which made it vibrate so intensely.

Great video! Love Arthur Rackham. He’s my favorite illustrator. Love how he uses the ink lines to wrap around the forms in his anatomy.

Sci Fi: Book 5 of Metabarons, it's the most amazing in the series in terms of visuals. Airtight Garage by Moebius to me is his best sci fi work. Syd Mead did a lot of amazing design work, not just Blade Runner. As for manga, I would suggest GANTZ, it's a very good series, at least up to a point.

Steven Fabian was a good sci-fi artist and drew a lot like Virgil Finlay!

These videos are fantastic. Thank you for creating content with such depth. The comments you make are so insightful…I can only listen when at work and even though I can’t watch I’m learning just from listening. Thank you!

Check IN SHADOWS by Eurocomics, I suggested it but it was in French, I didn't know it was translated to English, this is fantasy though.
