The 'Dirty South' in the house! Well done, guys. Mad Props to their label Merge Records which also handle more great bands like Arcade Fire, Spoon and others.
NPR Music the best! :) I heard only one song "Throwing Things" from the album (No Pocky For Kitty). But it was cool. I was so young :) Thank you for inviting these guys.
One really sad thing about the growing reliance on streaming music services is that I don't have easy access to any of my cool old mp3s from my private libraries, like an awesome live acoustic of "Kicked In" I probably downloaded on Limewire or Kazaa or something
@@erinbatten-hicks7392 Jon is funny enough to laugh at being compared in one thread to Ben Folds, Jonathan Franzen and Zachary Quinto -- actually before I met him they put him on the phone and I thought he was a woman, so I'll add "Kathleen Turner" to the list of comparisons
The acoustic version of Animated Airplanes is absolutely beautiful. This band has helped me through so much in life.
Same here dude. Superchunk is perfect for nostalgia and break-ups.
Same here!! You have no idea.
Is this Shoenice?? If so.. I love you even more for being a fan of one of the best bands ever.
Diagnol Snakeskin Nah, I'm just a Shoenice troll account lol
mac's voice is like fine wine. his falsettos still send chills down my spine
Do not quite expect that voice to come out of him.
At the age of twelve he was ritualistically castrated by a woman named Wilma
Mac is sort of the indie-rock Graham Nash. Great singer, don't mistake him for anyone else.
HANGINGWANG me neither lol...nice surprise 😊👏
R.Aguiar my thoughts exactly... Pretty cool 😎 xxx
+Francisco Zorrilla Wait, WHAT???
Superchunk voice is incredible. six string and accumulation of music is mind blowers.Thank all of you.

That drummer is flagrantly underrated
same drummer for the Mountain Goats - (Jon Wurster)
Wurster is so so talented - listen to how much he can do with just a snare. Criminally under-recognized in both of his bands.
Newtman98 I knew him when he lived in newbridge...always hanging out with Roy Jr.
Great at drumming, terrible at finding his burrow owl.
Found Jon through the Mountain Goats, absolute unit of good

Awesome version of animated airplanes. Takes me straight back to sophomore year 95.
Love the reworking of Animated Airplanes.
80s, 90s, 00s, 10s. 4 decades.
Superchunk is the Minnie Minoso of indie rock
Try singing like Mac. It’s impossible. Your voice will break forever.
They should get Streetlight Manifesto on the Tiny Desk Concerts...
Needs some Ska-Punk.
did not expect that voice from him
That wallet got me dying!! Lol
Now I understand the retirement - JW,

Apesar dos sofrimentos da vida e de todos os problemas, sabe... desisti de andar e fui aprender a surfar......
It is a bit of a stretch to refer to 24 years as spanning four decades. Accurate, but sort of deceptive
1989 - 1990s - 2000s - 2013 = 4 decades and eras of indie music - and just made one of their best albums this year!
It's even crazier now. Thirty-two years, but they cover FIVE decades ('80s, '90s, '00s, '10s, '20s).
Sensacional!
Mac has no fear
Yep. Last still alive and not famous. But for that era, that something to be said.
what
nah, Jonathan Wurster
Did anyone else notice that the drummer looks like ben folds
1989-2013 is 40 years? Is this that new math? Or have we travelled into the future?
1989, 90s, 00s, 2010s = 4 decades. hopefully they're still around 11 years from now to make it to 40.
@@mattaki they were a '90s band before there was such a thing
I was never too fond of math.
Ladies and gentlemen, Jonathan Franzen on the drums.
Actually it was Jon Wurster

four decades? 2013-1989 = 24. that's not even 2.5 decades. what?
Well, technically they have been an act in 4 different decades (the 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s). So they have spanned 4 decades in their 24 years.
80's, 90's, 2000's, 2010's keyword: spanning. cheers!
Honestly, it sucked!
