I had this when I was a kid. loved it. don't remember the sounds being so crazy but it took alot of begging to get it. My grandmother ordered it finally. My older brother stepped on him broke off his arm and I wigged out and cut his arm with a curtain rod. it was the closest weapon to me so had to make it work. ahh the memories

Fun fact with G1 Galvatron's sound switch. The 3-way switch can actually be set in between the first and second and second and third positions to get two more sounds that are sort of like combined versions of the other two.

After checking my sub box and seeing this, I couldn't be more excited to see one of my favorite reviewers covering one of my favorite G1 characters. And the object of the review was a G1 toy, no less!

Hmm I just realized that a lot of the reviewers that rarely reviews G1 stuff have been reviewing them lately since the announcement of the Titan Returns line. Peaugh also reviewed his G1 Skullcruncher cause he was hyped about the Generations deluxe one. I'm guessing people are cashing it on trying to review old stuff for the hype. Well I still welcome G1 reviews cause I rarely see them from decent reviewers.

+emgo316 I still welcome older figure reviews too. It seems like no one wants to do older figures since they've "been done." But most people who reviewed older figures did so before HD was a thing on youtube and who wants to watch reviews in 240p?!

Well it's going to look that way when you suddenly decide to review a toy that will have a Titan Returns version on top of saying you reviewed it and you broke a certain "code." And I do welcome g1 reviews like I said and there is nothing wrong to doing it; just the timing seem suspicious and all.

My brother found me a floppy mess of a Galvatron at a Goodwill in 1995. I'm just now getting around to patching it up. Great review.

This Galvatron was very energy efficient. I had the same 9 volt battery in mine for ten years.
holy crap, he transforms almost exactly like the newest toy does(obviously with differences, but its basically the same.)
i love how hasbro does this with these toys over the ages.

(Hears the toy noises) Parents of five-year-olds during the 80's must've IMMEDIATELY regretted putting batteries in this thing!
Also: I cannot help but feel partly responsible for my comment about EmGo's lateness when it came to reviewing DC Collectables Flash (since I realized he used that figure in the SXS Overclocker review end skit over four months back) may have contributed to the audio torture portion of this review.
I felt like after Cyclonus heard Galvatron's 'angry noise', Cyc could've said: "I'd hate to hear his happy noise..." only to be immediately followed by one of the other noises!

+emgo316 aww, now I don't have to ask what the late reference is from. I'll just say good review. it was fun seeing this toy finally in motion. I had the chance to get it from a corner store when I was younger for $20 but $20 may as well be $1,000 when you're 12 years old and don't have a job.

I remember seeing this Galvatron outside of his box on a KMart and transforming it way back in the day. One of the better G1 toys of that year, IMO. 😄

I'm amazed after 33 years that Galvatron still makes any sounds, I had mine until 2014 hadn't made a sound since 1999 but back in the day those sounds were much more acceptable same happened with GI Joe Sonic Fighters too.
G1 galvatron was such a fun toy back in the day.

So that's who that gun belongs to, i've had that gun floating around my house since I was a kid, still do somewhere it will turn up soon always does. I never could remember who it came with.

I think you should do G1 and older figure reviews when ever you like. I still collect them, and you can't always find reviews for some of them or then you find one and wish you hadn't. You also don't usually get instructions when you buy older figures. I had to look up several reviews on one figure to get it correctly transformed and if I would have followed the first review I had found it would have broke and almost did. It was your review on The RID Omega Prime that helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. I have been a loyal fan ever since. :)
I don't think I remember mine making those sounds, but it has been about 20 years since mine even had batteries in it....or all of the pieces.
The sounds your Galvie makes aren't quite the original sounds he's supposed to make. The middle one is the one that sounds like it's supposed to albeit a little overpowered.
