A real masterpiece, very effective, a lot of effort to detail the buildings (both aluminium and plastic), signals and other accessories, and make them look more realistic. I'm especially interested in the turntable, looks fantastic and too different to the Marklin version.
Hi David thanks for the feedback - the aim is to show what can be done with Hornby Dublo using mainly 1950s & ‘60s materials and techniques. Really a tribute to all the pattern makers and designers who made HD a reality. The turntable is a standard Peco item rerailed with HD running rail and a third rail added. The standard motorisation kit from FMR is fitted. Painted up carefully I think it’s a lovely model. The first version was using the Airfix/ Dapol kit but wasn’t quite strong and stable enough to take the weight of the HD locos. Glad you liked it :-)
Unusually scenic for a HD 3- rail layout, and very well done with well -disguised 180-degree curves at each end. Great stuff !
