when he asked her if she was a fan of boxing she said that was irrelevant... how the hell is that irrelevant when you're interviewing a heavyweight champion BOXER?? I just love the way he's responding to her dumbass questions and comments
In her defense, as a journalist, she is expected to be objective despite who she's interviewing or what they do. Though that probably wasn't the answer she should have gave lol
Her question was about persuading someone to watch a boxing match. He asked her if she was a boxing fan and explained what she'd feel like if she'd end up watching a fight.
I watched this video just now (however many years after the original release of it) and bro, I have to totally agree w/you. This lady is just DRIPPING w/condescension & elitism it's not even funny. You're right...how is his question irrelevant? If you replay the video, she actually physically tilts her head up so as to literally look down her nose on him. Everybody actually knew the answer when he asked her if she was a boxing fan just by how she delivered her question about trying to persuade someone to watch AND the fact that she used the word "match" to describe the fight. Dude, it's a fight. I'm sure if you have 3 degrees from Harvard and a PhD from Oxford, then you're gonna call it a "match" instead of a fight. Of course she's NOT a fan. She's just another elitist stuck in her own bubble that gets off on trying to make a wildly successful, accomplished and clearly intelligent person as a caveman caricature simply because he boxes. In defense of normal grounded every day people, that clearly was a dumbass question she asked! LOL
I always thought that Wladimir was just a typical boxing brute, but he is very likeable and intelligent. I respect him for not drinking and fighting outside the ring despite all the provoking he probably gets in the public. A real man.
I don’t know the laws in the us, but in most countries a professional fighter can’t fight outside the ring. In case someone gets hurt it’s an aggravating circumstance and qualifies same as an attack with the use of weapon (armed assault).
A very intelligent and classy champion. The Klitschko brothers will probably be more highly thought of in 20-30 years time, when people finally realize that they were brilliant not boring.
He's educated, smart, balanced, intelligent, caring, funny, respectful and a great boxer. Despite being trash talked by his opponents he never barked back or engaged in rhetorics. Respecting his opponents had been one of his mantra for his huge success. You don't come across a heavyweight boxer as classy, educated and dignified. Absolute legend.

When she said "So basically your job is to punch big guys for a living" I already knew this woman shouldn't be leading this interview. With all those fist fights in the Ukrainian government, Klitschko is the perfect gentleman and doesn't enter the brawl. I sat on this man's lap when I was 8 in Kyiv- something I will never forget :)
Wladimir is a champ inside and outside of the ring. He handled this interview like the smart man that he is; despite the reporter’s baseless questions and comments. Well done champ!
Absolutely loved watching Wlad here. Completely outsmarted her, had an answer for everything and she didn’t probably didn’t expect him to be that intelligent.
Of course it is a laced question - rhetoric. Not quite trolling though; but the western boxing industry is not big on pragmatic methods of boxing - which is the Klitschko's brothers' style. What the western industry wants is profittable individuals, guys who can put up a show, not guys who are so surgically efficient as Dr. Wladimir. I think we agree that he is brilliant. But I also think he is better off away from the facet of the boxing industry which begets some really obscene frauds.
RedTideOfWolves No. The boxing 'industry' as you so call it (definition = economic activity concerned with the processing of raw materials and manufacture of goods in factories.... wrong word to use) should embrace the fact that Europeans have the titles and that a few US guys will lose before the US win it back. The US has snubbed them because they cannot gain the max out of the fights. Sore losers springs to mind. The US is so utterly control freak because of the dirty gambling surrounding boxing that it has just dropped it like a hot potatoe because they can't fix it. Again US influence with monetary greed destroys a sport. This all being heavy weight in regard.
It IS an industry, it is an economic activity designed to create entertainment, just like the 'film industry', but I digress. And, that is kinda what I am saying, but you engaged on a different focus. Anyway, I do think I misunderstood your original statement. My bad.
What a terrible interviewer. She should put her opinions, distaste and cluelessness and ignorance of boxing aside, and at least research enough to ask decent questions. Very annoying interview, and I'm usually mild!
Even though he beat our guy (Kubrat Pulev) I think this is one of the most amazing boxers in the world. I don't know shit about boxing, actually (not a boxer type of guy), but I have been always interested in the big fights in this sport. And Klitschko is the smartest boxer out there. No doubt.
