Same here, another weird aspect of the early shows is the “iron patriot” and how they would waste about 20 mins at the top of the show letting him ask guests random questions. Seems like something that would drive tony insane today.
This seems like a really pivotal episode, Joelberg making what I'm guessing is his first appearance. Tony mentions that the show will be moving to the main room in 2 weeks.

Big Redban episode
Pat Regan is a LOT like William Montgomery.
Listening back to this as background noise for when I'm writing (I work best in an overstimulated environment, Kill Tony is perfect for this.) When I tune the show out, sometimes I hear William, but it's not William, it's Pat. He talks like William, he asks questions that William would ask, he sings bad songs because he knows bad singing can be funny. Pat even rages and completely steals the attention of the show out of nowhere, and it's actually brilliant absurdist comedy. Anyway!!!
Tony likes absurdism when it's done right I think. William has essentially replaced Pat and Jeremiah, too bad he's not on stage the whole night.
