What's up
Hope ur ok
One of the things I absolutely LOVE about partworks models is the clever ways they go about hiding the screws. It shows they put a LOT of thought into the model while they're planning it out.
Nothing better than a nice tight aS5 screw and no wobbling of the module. ☺️☺️🤣🤣
Looks great Wayne. Glad you were able to get the orientation of the rod corrected so that pesky OCD wouldn't bother you.
You are very welcome. Those souvenirs came from Johnson Space Center gift shop. That is mission control for Nasa missions.
Put those NASA patches on a white lab coat for that rocket scientist look.
Snap with the badges 😊😊😊but the best freebie so far is the NASSA screwdriver
Ok the first window part was the cupola which had 7 windows, the module it's attached to is called tranquillity. The white block on top is called z1, these things sticking up are ku band antennas and the bronze part at the front was a tray that held cables for the science lab. The grenade was an experimental expanding module by Robert bigalow.
Excellent. Thank you
Took the words from my fingertips.
Wayne, I don't know if it's too late for you to see this comment, but the round blue NASA logo is known as the "meatball". The other one is called the "worm" because of the style of the letters.
Remember wayne - double check the black corridor is correct this time :D
I think you should name your hammer "Crystal Blue". The way, when a part need more help to go together you can give it some "Crystal Blue Persuasion" 🤣🤣🤣
Great build, really enjoying it both doing and watching. As far as details of the different modules go, I bought the Haynes Owners Manual for the ISS to help out with identification and other interesting facts.
Ass screws will never get old always gets a laugh
That first part looks like an exit/entry port
part 12a looks like the cupola - a viewing dome.
I noticed in stage 20 at the end of the book the final picture does show both of the solar panels
Just one more comment, Wayne. The fitting of the 2nd solar panel was shown in issue 11.
Ahhh
The stage 15 part is this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupola_(ISS_module)
Known as a docking adapter
That will be a pretty good model when it is finished and historical also because the ISS won't be up in orbit much longer. I hope to build this model soon. The real ISS end date is very close...2030.
"Elon Musk’s company has a contract worth up to $843 million to build a vehicle capable of launching into low-Earth orbit, attaching to the ISS and guiding it into the Pacific Ocean. The station will end up at Point Nemo-a spot in the southern Pacific named after the captain in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Located more than 1,550 miles from the nearest piece of land, Point Nemo has become known as a spacecraft graveyard of sorts, with nations dumping more than 263 pieces of space debris there."
The Rassvet module (the vertical one on the bottom with a cylindrical tank on its side) needs to be rotated 180.
Okay
Think I'd like to do this, but only if offered as a 1 year build with a quick starter kit. These 2 year builds just drag out the build process too much. But looks good so far.
In 2000 I started building the ISS on a scale of 1:25 and from 2003 the very large model was exhibited in the castle museum in Peuerbach (Upper Austria) together with other space models I had built.
The models have currently been dismantled and stored for another exhibition.
This is the Cupola
Go on, admit how many times you checked that connecting tunnel was round the right way lol
Only 15 screws used in this pack!
You know it
spacey
Hi wayne the first part you did is a observation port
Great build and vid 👍🍺💞🙏💪🇦🇺
Im sure someone has already said but stage 15 is the observation area they call the cupola. Heres a link to a video where Sunny Williams gives you a tour of it. th-cam.com/video/jbZ7lDlVeIo/w-d-xo.html
Were u able to correct the other part of the ISS model Wayne
Yep
Hey Wayne. Have you seen the Lego Jaws set thats coming soon? I thing its a lego set you would like :D
I love the look of it
How did you fix it ?
I.managed to get the caps off to get to the screws
It’s a bit shoddy from the manufacturer not to name the parts that you are putting together.
🙂 lol it would not be a proper WoW build if you did not have to use a little hammer in order to get some parts to fit properly! 😉
