- What's up railfans im back with another railfan Friday. this time I'm in fairview pa right outside of Erie pa. I'm checking out so trains on csx Erie west sub and norfolk southren Lake Erie district. enjoy the video!
NS LAKE ERIE DISTRICT
The Lake Erie District of NS is a part of the former Nickel Plate Road mainline, which stretches from Buffalo, New York to Chicago, Illinois. The Lake Erie District in particular is a newer district on NS's system, being created sometime in 2004. It was formerly a part of the Cleveland District, but the line was split into two districts, the portion from Buffalo to East Cleveland being the Lake Erie District, and the portion from Cleveland to Bellevue being the Cleveland District. The line carries 10 daily trains and several as needed trains.
CSX ERIE WST SUB
The Erie West Subdivision is a railroad line owned by CSX Transportation in the U.S. states of Pennsylvania and Ohio. The line runs from Derby, New York southwest along the shore of Lake Erie to Cleveland, Ohio, along the former New York Central Railroad main line.
At its east end (west of downtown Erie), the Erie West Subdivision becomes the Lake Shore Subdivision; at its west end (east of downtown Cleveland), it becomes the Cleveland Terminal Subdivision. This subdivision is also known as the Great Lakes Service Lane. Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited and Capitol Limited use the Erie West Subdivision.
FAIRVIE PA
Fairview Township is a township in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. Situated on the southern shore of Lake Erie, it was one of the county's sixteen original townships, and was founded in 1797.

Wow--thanks for posting. I grew up in Fairview.
The NS Chicago Line around Elkhart might be the busiest line east of Chicago now. Good videos here! That is a good spot to railfan at. I've heard some real good radio skips from Buffalo, Cleveland, and even in Southern Ontario there in Fairview. FYI There is a Wegman's to sit at by the Erie airport where you can see both lines easily.
The 1042 on the point of the last intermodal train had all its Norfolk Southern markings painted over.
I seen that, I wonder what happened
you can watch the amtrack eastbound at this spot between 07:00 and 07:30 every morning
I was there in September with my dad, we eve parked in the same spot! I'm from Pittsburgh too, we are going to be at Emsworth pa soon, you should check it out.
That's one of my favorite spots and the crossing in haysville.
Hey man! Not sure if you remember me, but I met you in Fairport, NY the day you railfanned there. Good to see your content.
ayyy!! haha yeah yeah I remember! thanks. nice to hear from you!
Nice video, btw pittsburgh line is busier than the csx erie sub
Pittsburgh Line gets 60-70 trains
Erie Sub gets 50-60 trains
Or if you mean the ns erie lake district
Then pittsburgh line beats that by a mile cause that only gets like 10-20 trains
I appreciate that!
@@Jordiebwatchingtrains Your welcome
Both railroad lines are still great to railfan
The erie subs faster trains and foreign power
And Pittsburgh line with tons of trains now and then in scenic places plus hear the trains roar up the mountains through the Allegheny
Can you Lowellville, OH maybe soon??
I can do that!
Nice video! How many trains a day come thru here!
On the csx close to 60. NS gets 12 and 1 or 2 as needed daily.
265 Ayer mass derail
thanks for clarifying!
What about fostoria ohio
most definitely coming soon!
