I completely agree, I love the relationship he has with all these people. He’s their big strong protector but he’s also super friendly with all of them. I still remember seeing Connor smile for the first time in one of these missions when I was a little kid and I almost cried because it made me so happy. Connor has been through so much heart breaking stuff and these people make him happy. It’s so nice to watch.

The biggest tragedy about Connor is that he is ultimately fighting against the grindstone of history. The whole time you want him to succeed, you want him to save his people and his land. The whole time you are rooting for Connor but it's all in vain. Connor can't save his people and his land because history won't let him. You go into the game with a grim sense of hindsight. Even before his story begins you know how it's going to end because history has already spoiled the ending.

But he's so warm-hearted (just like Connor truly is). I don't see the point in comparing him to Ezio, he grew up in a rich family and is - as a typical italian man, sorry - very loud, outgoing. Which isn't bad. But people, cultures are different and there are different ways of showing emotion. Doesn't mean Connor is emotionless in the slightest.
It`s a very good game ,with beautiful story .but ,why i hate sometime it`s the glitches and in same missions to make 100 % syn ,you can because of some bugs... But it a very good game ! P.S I had played 3 times the game ,but i never know about the weeding. . I m so happy to found this video :)
Connor is seriously my second favorite protagonist of the series behind Ezio. For all the crap he goes through in this game, it was so refreshing to see him happy for his friends in this. His character arc is so well-developed.
They should of made a sequel for Connor where he goes to France and he goes up against Shay who is the Grand Master of the Templars in France it would be interesting
Now these homestead missions are really nice especially the ones that don't involve killing cause in those mission's everything just felt nice. I mean just in these instances you don't feel like an assassin, you don't feel like you are a one man killing machine who can take on some of the worlds best fighters, you just feel like a normal person who is helping his friends its quite nice.
I don't see how people hate this game. I know Connor is usually serious and poker faced, but he has his friendly moments and he's willing to lend a helping hand whenever it's needed.

1.) It was a wedding-style dress but, given the frontier setting, not quite as cumbersome as what you are thinking of. And / or 2.) Myriam is just that good.
Maybe because Connor is the only AC protagonist we see grow up. Altaïr's life was probably just as miserable since he never had a family to begin with. He grew up in the Brotherhood as one of its minions and never got to experience a normal childhood. And when he started questioning Brotherhood's methods, he got betrayed by his only father figure.
I wish I had completed 3 100% earlier. I lived for four years, thinking Connor was the absolute worst, shittiest, bland character ever. Then I replayed Unity and realized that Arno was even worse. Then I completed my 2012 save 100% a few days ago and played all of the Homestead missions. In my eyes, Ratonhnhake:ton is 100% redeemed and is in a top 3 assassins for me.

Sure he wasn't as jokey, and fun as Ezio, he was humble but vengeful, and I kinda related to him in that humble part, plus that scene where his mom dies is perfectly done, it reminded me of AC2, hell, AC2's execution scene made you want to kill every bastard there, but you knew you had to run, even if you didn't want to. There was some masterful writing in these games back in the day.

Imagine an assassin who led a community with his hood down showing utmost trust to his people. And the fact he is the last real trained assassin in the area. The american assassins redeemed themselves through connor.
I just realized how much I missed by skiping the homestead missions entirely. I mean I didn´t have to do them and the main storyline was a bit frustrating for me, but THIS is exactly what I´m looking for in games. Something that brings you closer to the world of the game. It´s a shame.
Yeah everyone keeps saying Connor was a one dimensional character. But these homestead missions were the heart of AC3. This was the last mission but it started with a wilderness with the old mans house where grew up. But Connor helping people started to make a beautiful living community and it gave so much context to what Connor was fighting for. He literally created a town from a wilderness and that was what he was fighting for, he never had a true home and anyone to really help him, but he helped those in need all the time going out of his way to give what he never had. Connor was a better man (including Ezio and Altair) than almost any other assassin we have played so far.

The last Assassin's Creed that had "spirit". Nothing against Black Flag, but the loss of Desmond and a natural flowing narrative was the downfall of AC.
I agree, there's literally no point to this series anymore. I loved Black Flag, but it was depressing as hell without Desmond, and my love for the series died with him.

@@SSlash yeah, as much as i absolutely love Origins, the game is a great action-RPG on it's own but not a good Assassin's Creed if it wasn't for those out-of-the-Animus moments and the tackled on "the Hidden and the Order", you'd forget it was an AC game at all the game would benefit if it was an original IP, just like Odyssey
10 years later and I still consider these Homestead missions as the prime factor that made the game very personal to me. We went from a decrepit little manor on the countryside to a thriving town whose inhabitants consider one another as family. I'm glad that I progressed this game very slowly and proud to say that AC 3 is my favorite game in the series.
No joke, I am a bit weirded out by Connor smiling and actually laughing. He’s just so stoic, but then again, given his life story it’s amazing enough that he’s still willing to help others.
Thanks to the comments, I realized that Connor is not loved as Ezio. And it's obvious that because they are from different... - Epochs - Contexts - Breeding - Cultures And reasons to join the brotherhood. But that's why we love this saga so much: We are inside History. And History always is changing in different places of the world. And we love all assassins for how different they are in every game: Altaïr, Edward, Jacob, Evie... But we all agree that Odissey is the worst of the whole Franchise.
How do people say that this game is bad? Its amazing! And it takes place in America! Which makes it 1000000 times better! Plus Connor is just a boss in the end I mean he had the coolest assassin outfit, he’s an Indian, it’s in America, during the revolution, he takes hits like a champ, and he has amazing hair. Here I am, 3 years later thinking I've done all I can do in this game. Fired up my PS3, got back to some good ole AC3, and I find out about Homestead missions, building a village, helping a wedding. There was actual depth to the accounting book, I had no idea this game had so much content. But here I am, a few days after discovering it with a full built village and 40 thousand more dollars than I started with.
Ezio was born on royalty, love and care therefore has personality and charisma . Connor was born in a jungle,with no parents, amidst war and hunting, in a tribe whose sole purpose is survival. I don't know how anyone can say, he's not like ezio.
I always did the homestead missions after i played the story. Mostly because I thought they weren’t important (i was like 11 years old when i first played it). Later on I would replay it and it became one of the best parts of the game. Connor looked happy helping his small community and when that specific song kicks in its so energetic. One of my favorite AC games to this date. I hope Valhalla does something similar with the homestead missions since we’ll have a small village.

The part where the memory cut off when Connor caught up to Myriam did have some dialogue from Connor, though it never made it into the cut. But I think that something called SoundCloud managed to extract the dialogue, in which Connor said, *"Myriam! Myriam, Norris means not to change you. He admires you for who you are. You need be nothing else. He has told me himself."* Now, see? Wouldn't it have been nice to have that in the game? It also would've shown a more deeper meaning into Norris and Myriam's relationship rather than just leave it at Norris giving Myriam the knife that saved her life. Also, did anyone notice that the music during the wedding ceremony was Sofia Sartor's music from "AC: Revelations", played during the mission "A Little Errand" (when Ezio picks tulips for her and is surprised with a mini picnic by Sofia).

The problem with ac3 is : The developers didn't bothered to explain that homestead missions weren't just side missions, they were part of the story, although they managed to indicate this in synch menu by making homestead missions slot bigger like main missions but people are still too dumb to care about it. And they just pop so randomly that a casual gamer probably ignore it. But if the developers somehow would've managed to explain this that you can grow a community im ac3 and that is a bigger part of game, probably they didn't would've got the backlash, Why? Because you can see the other side of connor, his soft side caring side smiling side, its all in that fucking part ,,,.....
I always thought Connor should've been in his Aquila captain uniform for this and not his assassin robes - more setting appropriate and just nicer on the eye in a normal setting I suppose
I know it's a small detail but I hope the remaster incorporates the colored robes into the cutscenes. It'd be nice to see Connor at these events a little more formal. His default robes can look like he never once washed them in a certain light. :/
When I first played ACIII I didn't care for the homestead at all. Did what had to be done, back to the main story, progress progress. Years later, a year ago, I replayed it from start to finish 100%ing it and the homestead missions could be my favorite part of the whole game! Especially things like this.
I really love the homestead missions, especially for the always stoic and seemingly emotionless Connor. They give him this feel of humanity. Wish that other games could incorporate something like this, gives the characters a bit more depth. Maybe showing a side of him that he'll never or rarely reveal in the main story, only to show that side to those he trust, along those in the community he helped to build up.
I love how Connor and Norris unite at the beginning. Connor throws him to the ground out of instinct, and then they just begin to speak happily of how Norris is getting married

I just realized how much I missed by skiping the homestead missions entirely. I mean I didn´t have to do them and the main storyline was a bit frustrating for me, but THIS is exactly what I´m looking for in games. Something that brings you closer to the world of the game. It´s a shame.

They were easily some of the best missions in the game. So much extra character development.
Yeah everyone keeps saying Connor was a one dimensional character. But these homestead missions were the heart of AC3. This was the last mission but it started with a wilderness with the old mans house where grew up. But Connor helping people started to make a beautiful living community and it gave so much context to what Connor was fighting for. He literally created a town from a wilderness and that was what he was fighting for, he never had a true home and anyone to really help him, but he helped those in need all the time going out of his way to give what he never had. Connor was a better man (including Ezio and Altair) than almost any other assassin we have played so far.

The last Assassin's Creed that had "spirit". Nothing against Black Flag, but the loss of Desmond and a natural flowing narrative was the downfall of AC.

if it wasn't for those out-of-the-Animus moments and the tackled on "the Hidden and the Order", you'd forget it was an AC game at all
the game would benefit if it was an original IP, just like Odyssey
10 years later and I still consider these Homestead missions as the prime factor that made the game very personal to me. We went from a decrepit little manor on the countryside to a thriving town whose inhabitants consider one another as family. I'm glad that I progressed this game very slowly and proud to say that AC 3 is my favorite game in the series.

But we all agree that Odissey is the worst of the whole Franchise.

How do people say that this game is bad? Its amazing! And it takes place in America! Which makes it 1000000 times better! Plus Connor is just a boss in the end I mean he had the coolest assassin outfit, he’s an Indian, it’s in America, during the revolution, he takes hits like a champ, and he has amazing hair. This game is just amazing to me I can’t see why people think this one is bad🤦♂️😂 and connors origin is amazing, but I do hate how they left us on a cliff hanger on how his story ends

Here I am, 3 years later thinking I've done all I can do in this game. Fired up my PS3, got back to some good ole AC3, and I find out about Homestead missions, building a village, helping a wedding. There was actual depth to the accounting book, I had no idea this game had so much content. But here I am, a few days after discovering it with a full built village and 40 thousand more dollars than I started with.

Connor was born in a jungle,with no parents, amidst war and hunting, in a tribe whose sole purpose is survival.

I always did the homestead missions after i played the story. Mostly because I thought they weren’t important (i was like 11 years old when i first played it). Later on I would replay it and it became one of the best parts of the game. Connor looked happy helping his small community and when that specific song kicks in its so energetic. One of my favorite AC games to this date. I hope Valhalla does something similar with the homestead missions since we’ll have a small village.

Admito que es un poco triste que la mayor parte del desarrollo de connor se encuentre en misiones defundarias, pero a su ves... eso hace que se sienta especial... si solo juegas como loco y no te importa nadie, connor tambien parece que nadie le importa (bueno, excepto su padre, joder que eso dolio) pero si te detienes un momento a respirar y ayudar a los demas, te permite ver a un ser mas humano y realista

The part where the memory cut off when Connor caught up to Myriam did have some dialogue from Connor, though it never made it into the cut. But I think that something called SoundCloud managed to extract the dialogue, in which Connor said, *"Myriam! Myriam, Norris means not to change you. He admires you for who you are. You need be nothing else. He has told me himself."*
Now, see? Wouldn't it have been nice to have that in the game? It also would've shown a more deeper meaning into Norris and Myriam's relationship rather than just leave it at Norris giving Myriam the knife that saved her life.
Also, did anyone notice that the music during the wedding ceremony was Sofia Sartor's music from "AC: Revelations", played during the mission "A Little Errand" (when Ezio picks tulips for her and is surprised with a mini picnic by Sofia).

Spatler I'm guessing she didn't want to become a normal wife. She still wanted her freedom. I'm also guessing Connor convinced her that she was going to be the same person after marriage.

The problem with ac3 is :
The developers didn't bothered to explain that homestead missions weren't just side missions, they were part of the story, although they managed to indicate this in synch menu by making homestead missions slot bigger like main missions but people are still too dumb to care about it.
And they just pop so randomly that a casual gamer probably ignore it.
But if the developers somehow would've managed to explain this that you can grow a community im ac3 and that is a bigger part of game, probably they didn't would've got the backlash,

I know it's a small detail but I hope the remaster incorporates the colored robes into the cutscenes. It'd be nice to see Connor at these events a little more formal.

When I first played ACIII I didn't care for the homestead at all. Did what had to be done, back to the main story, progress progress.
Years later, a year ago, I replayed it from start to finish 100%ing it and the homestead missions could be my favorite part of the whole game! Especially things like this.
The homestead missions and recruits are the once Im lookong forward the most. Cant wait for the remaster
I really love the homestead missions, especially for the always stoic and seemingly emotionless Connor. They give him this feel of humanity.
Wish that other games could incorporate something like this, gives the characters a bit more depth. Maybe showing a side of him that he'll never or rarely reveal in the main story, only to show that side to those he trust, along those in the community he helped to build up.

I love how Connor and Norris unite at the beginning. Connor throws him to the ground out of instinct, and then they just begin to speak happily of how Norris is getting married
