My favorite comic related channel. The viewer can see the planning and thought you put in before publishing. The editing is spot on. The deep dives you do in the hobby are second to none. Really. The Go Collect, Modern Variant chasers, etc. can find plenty of other channels that publish rubbish on a daily basis. They’re the “housewives of comic collecting”. You’re….whatever the opposite of that is! Keep it coming. We love the knowledge and experiences you’ve accumulated over your collecting life. Can’t wait for your new twists and turns in 2024. When the whole reholdering saga with CGC came to light, that Startling Comics #47 that went from blue to green label video you did immediately came to mind, but I don't think that's a reholder attempt. Who the heck knows what happened there. The Schomburg granddaughters video was one of my favorites of yours. That was just awesome. More stuff like that needs to be in TH-cam videos. I mean, yeah, hot comic lists are great, but those lists are the same lists that get so many people burned and often does nothing to promote the history and appeal of the industry from a collector's view. I think the kind of videos you should do more are related to interesting takes about data, trends, etc. (like the slabdata one, even though I'm not sure I agreed completely with it - I need to rewatch it. Coming from working in stock brokerages in the past, I also had another idea along those lines) and videos that promote history (like the Schomburg grandaughters video) as well as ones where you interview people from the industry whether they be artists, writers, etc. or auction house reps and dealers views about what's going on in the market. Stuff like that is what's missing the most from TH-cam content creators, I think. Love the fact that you focus a lot on Golden Age books, too, btw. Here's to hoping for a great 2024!

Bad actors are a pain in the a**...it's not good for the hobby. Regarding trends and data...I've got something cool in the works, which I'll reveal in March or April :-). And, I've got two excellent interviews already recorded with some very high-level comic insiders...and another two who have committed to upcoming interviews. There are many amazing TH-camrs who focus on comic collecting, but I agree with you that there's room for more advanced topics and viewpoints from industry leaders. If you have any ideas re advanced topics -- perhaps pulling from your stock brokerage background -- let me know. Hope you have a great 2024 as well!

I subscribe to a select number of comic TH-camrs. I like your channel. The videos I enjoy the most from other TH-camrs fall into three broad categories: 1) Q&A sessions where subscriber questions are submitted in advance and answered in the video; 2) Live sessions where various pre-planned and/or top of the mind comic topics are informally discussed and debated including responses to real-time comments posted by watchers. I like the unscripted nature of these sessions (guests could be invited to participate). I particularly like the live sessions that actually take place during an actual auction; and 3) previews of upcoming auctions with price forecasts/predictions on selected comics. Maybe you could work these kinds of videos into your future repertoire?

I definitely like the idea of a Q & A session. I'll try to incorporate one of those into a video in either February or March.
How about combining the two? You could do your first live stream to answer pre-submitted questions. You could then pivot to any questions that are posted during the live session. You can make this as long or short as you like. Just dip your toe in the water. I think you would be great at this….and you might actually enjoy and have fun doing it. No downside to trying.

If people don't click, they can't watch -- no matter how good your content is. Regardless, it's fun...and we learn something each time we create a video. I can tell you did a ton of research on the pedigree series!
I love the video which you go through all the books you didn't buy and they either went flat (Dodged the bullet) or they shot up (Missed the gravy train). It's not quite the same as what another TH-camr is doing. He is just talking about past prices and trends. What made your video special was that you actually bid on those items and you even said "Ever bid for a book that may cause you to sell your whole collection?" I think we have all been there. I'm also interested to know what you work as? Are you a business owner? Because those are huge sums of money.

I have bid on hundreds and hundreds of items on eBay and have noticed that many people bid in increments of $25 so I always bid in the same increments plus $1.08. I have won many auctions by 8¢ and $1 without suffering the same fate. I'm sure the second highest bidder kicks himself too.
Do you have any thoughts on Digital NFT comic collecting? They are officially licensed by DC. I've been doing it for a year now, and really enjoying it. I get grail comics that i could never afford IRL, and i can buy and sell instantly. Flipping a comic you just bought for 5x a couple of days later is really fun. It's a new medium of comic collecting. Just wondering your thoughts on it

@@kestonsoldschoolcomicbooks6842 Thanks for the response. I got an AF15 there are 200 editions digitally. The floor is now $12,000 with them. I'll never own the originial, but the first digital i'll keep for a decade and see if digital catches on. Still always going to collect physical. Love the videos! Have a good one
