As a son of a cockney and an essex boy through and through, I love hearing about the old sayings that have died off.

Ha ha I love Chas n Dave, they were truly representative of the British working class and others, and it fucks me off that they couldnt say 'Cowson" , Cockney slang, when it was part of the culture. The British establishment are VERY good at destroying the culture and working class communites/musicans who inspired and made Chas n' Dave, what were then London people, like my great old nan and grandad, who I loved dearly. These people fought in the world war 1939-1945, and what did our government do for them? fuck all is what they did, many thousands came back traumatised and unstable. To this day we don't look after our retired soilders. I met one last week in my local church yard and he was homeless and I shook his hand, my first hand shake in the COVID-19 era....but he's a human. It's a disgrace he is left to rot, on his own without help.
We let loads of immigrants in after the war, to help boost the economy which maybe made our very own war fighters and their familys feel maybe a little less connected, from the huge influx. I'm not blaming the immigrants, its not 'their' fault.
Our UK government did NOTHING for millions of young men/and women who fought in the 2nd world war, and many overseas soilders such as the Burkas. Even years later when these fighters, like my grandads, were old men, they should have gotten something for their efforts. I think all the imigrants coming in made them feel like they were being replaced, and were also what being British mean't at the time.
I think alot has changed since those days and I miss the old working class, like my grandparents. I would think I am not alone. I'm not a racist person. I treat everyone as I would like to be treated. I guess like all of us, I am nostaligic and romantic to my ideals of my country.
As long as communites exist then there is good living. And that goes for whoever comes to this country, they must integrate, and make our diversity even richer, otherwise, why come here and keep to your own? We are all human, simply, and we can all help each other so much to live happier lives and not have any fear.
God Bless all those hard working, pub singing folk from back in those years, and Chas n Dave for flying the london flag.
Peace and love to all colours, creeds, religions.......we can all live in peace if we stop reading papers and what the media portray. They want us to be in fear. The world is made up of good and evil, and good is much more prominant in us all, especialy if we allow ourselves to breathe our own air and have our own thoughts.
